ArkapravoB.Jul 30, 2002Tough to learn; contains difficult strategies too; but is terrific once you are into it.

MikeC.Aug 26, 2006The most complex and interesting trading game I've ever played. I agree with the others that the learning curve is steep, but you can enjoy it along the way.

Sep 2, 2020Patrician II is a real-time trading and construction simulation full of great content. The story is unique and the mechanics are diversified. I only have to criticize the difficulty level, because the game is really complex and has a tough learning curve. Not a game for a fast session, it demands a lot of time. I recommend the Gold Edition!

The uninitiated will find the game monstrously intimidating, and it takes a bit of playing before you really start to engage. In order to get the most out of it, you need to sit down, learn its ins and outs, and suffer a lot of early setbacks while you get familiar with the game's complex mechanics.
