Very good game, I had much more fun than with Baldur's Gate 3. Sometimes there was a little too much reading though :)

The balancing in this game is horrible.

So you think you can breeze through the game on normal difficulty like you would with Assassin's Creed? No way. You will be in for a bad surprise. The game has the same balancing and difficulty spike problem that Kingmaker already had. But this time, even worse. You will fight mob after mob that wrecks your party in no time. The game is a F5

The game is a F5 / F8 simulator.

If you forgot to buy the only spells that the devs intended you to use, you are f*cked up in some fortress far away from home.

Also, most enemies have crazy Magic resistance. So if your party has 3 casters, they are pretty useless and you won't do enough damage to survive the mobs (often 10 enemies at once).

I would excpect that on Normal difficulty, you can use more or less any spells to damage the enemies. But this is not possible. The devs want you to use certain spells and if you didn't skill your character this way, you can start all over again.

It could have been a good game, but the difficulty spikes are so insane and so out of this world that I just can't enjoy it.

The worst thing about the game is the Crusade Mode. Oh my good...every 2 minutes, overleveled Demon Armies will attack your base, ripping your best armies apart in seconds. And after loosing a couple of times, you will be auto-switched to Auto Crusade Mode. But actually you can be happy that you don't have to deal with this unbalanced mess anymore.

However, graphics and music are good. But that doesn't help much if the balancing is totally off.

    Writing is also good.

It looks better than the first game, but the gameplay is just as boring. There are also very frequent updates. They need to reduce them a bit, just once or twice a month. It's been 2 years since the game came out, but it's being updated as if it's an early access game.

Another broken mess just like Kingmaker with tonns of worthless classes, outdated visuals and animations, non-existent pacing of the story, pathetic mini-game, forgetable characters.
Afraid for that Rogue Trader game - gonna be another flop probably.

First, writing is top notch, with really interesting characters. It's definitely the old style with no handwalking. You'll see a lot of the negative reviews talking about how the quest log wouldn't tell them what to do next, or where to go. It's honestly simple if you know how to read. It blows my mind how many people cant play an RPG if there isn't a bright shiny arrow playing the game for them. Combat is interesting enough, but since the story is so long, I'd recommend just playing on normal so you don't get burnout. Turn based mode can help you pull out the win on some of the harder fights, but playing the whole game like that would honestly be an absolute drag. 99% of the time can be in real-time, and that's probably for the best. Also, it might be worth it to find a build guide for what ever class you want to play, if you don't like the idea of planning out your character before you start.

There are a few game breaking mechanics that unfortunately make a save edit program sort of mandatory. First was the campaign. If you don't know how to do the campaign, you will soft lock your progress. The campaign stuff is really a weak point for the game anyways, so I'd recommend getting that mod and just making some OP armies to steamroll the map. Second, is the mythic paths that can soft lock you if you have an extremely apposing alignment. I was chaotic neutral and chose the Aeon path which requires lawful. All the lawful choices I was making was hardly putting a dent on making me lawful, so the mod made it possible to just change it.

I will say, it's definitely same-sex leaning for romance. I didn't talk to any of the males, yet every single one of them had romance options pop up miles before the first female one. The female romance is pretty bad as well unless you're playing an evil character.

Overall, I am enjoying this game more than many others. I've found myself playing it more than divinity. Reminds me a lot of games like the Dragon Age: Origins, but a much larger game with better characters.

Buen diseño artístico , sonoro, jugable y muy buenas tramas. Un poco lento de jugar y bastante complejo de primeras pero se le va pillando el rollo. This game in particular improves a lot on the original Pathfinder by offering more classes, weapons, interesting characters, and by expanding on the lore of the first game. Without getting to into the weeds, overall this game excels at challenging the player while making the combat fun and diverse. The one thing I will say about combat specifically (and this goes for the original as well), is that some enemy abilities such as decreasing levels and specific stats are particularly brutal to get through if you don't prepare ahead of time, which is difficult to do for a first-time player. As far as I know, enemy abilities can't be tweaked by the difficulty either so even if you are playing on the easiest difficulty you'll have to save often or risk losing your entire party to enemies who can decrease your level, stats, etc. Other than that not much else to complain about! There’s no excitement in the plot or the actions or much really. It’s all bloated nonsense that leaves you feeling awful for paying money to play this so you keep going. - the plot is predictable, too serious, badly written and yet overwritten somehow. There’s so much pointless dialogue and characters and choices that I was wishing someone would just play it for me to get it over with. Trust me your better off just reading a book. - gameplay is tedious and underwhelming, while being plot breaking buggy even at the time of this review. Camping is pointless and stupid, I don’t want to hear these lame nobodies do caphero quips everytime I have to stop to rest… which is about every 2 MINUTES! There is also something called an abyssal corruption mechanic which is pointless, and annoying. The pacing on this game is horrendous. If you don’t have mods don’t play this.

    - combat is altogether boring and extremely complicated for no reason. Most attacks and spells do the same thing but have a different name. All the combat overall should have been modernized and balanced in much greater detail, but when you have a 150 CLASSES FOR NO REASON then it’s impossible. The original PlayStation ff7 has more interesting combat. - sound design is good and the music is good. It’s just overshadowed by all the other bad parts. Voice acting when present occasionally is mostly good, while cheesy. It’s still good. Overall would not recommend this game, it has the appearance of freedom while being horribly boring and linear. I would look to pillars of eternity or divinity for a satisfactory cRPG.

    Pro:
+ TONS of difficulty options. Every game should have this
+ most amount of classes and sub-classes seen in any cRPG up to date
+ tens of hours of content
+ turn-based combat mode, would be even better if it had been designed for turn-based and ditched the terrible realtime with pause completely (it sucked in Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, it still sucks 26 years later!
+ evil playthrough viable (unlike Baldur's Gate which punishes you with no or low XP for evil choices)
    + setting (angels vs. demons)

    Con:
    - as of version 2.0.1e (Oct. 6th, 2022, one year after release) this game still contains plot-stopper bugs. I've encountered 2 on my 2 recent attempts to replay, both times essential quests will not trigger. This is unacceptable
    - ironically the pathfinding of the party is terrible: getting stuck on terrain that is different, and why is it that when my party spots a trap I have to maneuver every single party member past it with baby steps? Why can't they just avoid spotted traps on their own, if it is possible?
    - the puzzles! They SUCK and are a waste of time!
    - the crusades system feels just as tacked on as Kingmaker's kingdom management
    - crusade system turned on "automode" will lock you out of certain mythic paths (eg Lich)
    - controls are not precise (turn based mode), lacks an undo function. This is due to the game being designed for real-time with pause
    - traveling done by overhead map. Devs should have ditched the Crusade system and instead made the game world be a connected map like in Divinity Original Sin 2 or Baldur's Gate 3
    - too many random encounters
    - too many time consuming random events
    - some missions go on for too long (Gray Garrison, Drezen)
    - lackluster DLCs
    - comicy art style
    - very little of the text is actually voiced
    - a lot of annoying things, such as: skill checks that are way out of your league, level draining monster SWARMS (a good DM knows to use them sparingly!), and way way too many traps (some rooms have three or more traps).
    - many gameplay mechanics not sufficiently explained (don't have the tabletop rulebooks? Well sucks to be you!)

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous could have been the best cRPG of all times, were it not for a) the bugs and b) the cheap overhead map traveling. If Owlcat hat created a "seamless" world like in Divinity Original Sin 2 or Baldur's Gate 3. Also some of the endless missions could have been slightly shorter (looking at you, Drezen!).
It's a pity that there are so many bugs, even with the "Enhanced Edition" patch (which is a lie, since there are no real enhancements, the promised enhancements were scrapped last minute, I'm taking another point of the rating for that). A few quality of life features were added (search function in the inventory) but that does NOT justify the term "Enhanced Edition" at all. The graphics are very outdated, only a few lines are voice acted, mostly around the main quest line. Technically the game is several years behind.
So much potential for a 10 out of 10. Ends of being a 6 out of 10 due to MANY bugs and several design flaws.

Race: The game is geared towards humans only. For instance build a rogue. Humans can max out skill points at an intelligence 16. Any other race won't be able to get the 8 skill points needed for a rogue until intelligence 20. With the right feats a human can end up with 9 skill point the next time they level. Linear

Terrible game. One of the worst i've played.

The journal is useless and doesn't give you any idea of where to go. The maps are confusing as there are dead-end paths everywhere and there's no indication of where to go. you're always lost unless you're in an exploring mood. Don't forget to check everybody's loot because sometimes they have the key. I got severely lost because of that.

The crusader mode was so bad that they have an option to remove it. I found out after soft-locking myself in crusader mode.

There's corruption if you rest too much. I'm already at 3 stacks and now I can't progress further in the game because the fights are too hard. I'm on easy easy mode.

Clunky gameplay. Clunky cutscenes. There's always a time that you have to wait for any action to be performed but it often feels like im clicking into the void or i wonder if my computer just froze because nothing is really moving on screen.

I'm watching a speedrun of this game to find out where to go but I still manage to be completely lost and I have no idea which journal quest is my main quest. It's ridiculous how many times i've gotten lost in this game.

The side content was definitely handled better in Kingmaker, most of the optional areas have no real story or are garbage puzzles. Random encounters are incredibly brutal early on (on hard at least) and you are better off reloading and rolling for stealth checks to handle them with greater invisibility or other cheese strats. While flawed, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a grand and ambitious adventure and an impressive adaptation of a popular tabletop RPG. The eclectic characters feel alive, though the thought of that literally being true is terrifying. In some ways, it feels like too standard a CRPG; in others, it stretches the conventions of that subgenre in fascinating directions. The amount of writing here (and pretty good writing at that) is astounding — it’s a rare case where the sheer quantity is a positive, each quest another strand in your character’s tapestry, even if they don’t always hit. As such, if you only play one game you missed out on from last year, it might be this one, as it might be all you have time for. But that decision is less appealing in the shadow of the abuse accusations.

Owlcat Games has made huge progress since Kingmaker. Time limits, randomized elements of kingdom management and other annoying aspects were ditched, while combat and character development return in all their glory assisted by very atmospheric new mythic paths and a bit simple but still cool army management system. For me, the new Pathfinder, Wasteland 3 and Divinity: Original Sin II are a trio of contemporary RPG classics, with the first one being the most faithful to the genre’s tradition. [12/2021, p.64]

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a fantasy role-playing game that is highly playable and extremely rich in content. Although there are still some obvious bugs and optimization issues in the game, it is still the brightest new star in the fantasy role-playing games.
