    Best ARPG on the market for years. PoE 2 will be much better than Diablo 4 too and still hold the #1 spot for sure. A downside is that if you want to push the game to its limits you have to use 3rd party sites/software/sources for information and stuff but I guess if you are that type of hardcore gamer it won't be a big deal anyway.     A phenomenal action RPG that has proved to be so much more than the "Diablo" clone that many accuse it of being. Path of Exile rewards you for learning its intricate systems and diverse combat systems with consistently enjoyable gameplay that will carry you through infinite playthroughs! How is this game free!?

    There are too many things that ruin the game:

    1.Trading: No trading system, items are offered via trade chat (about 100 per minute). Impossible to compare offers for a single item you are looking for. Furthermore, about 95% of these items are pure junk and overpriced. 2.     2. Leveling:

    Leveling up a character becomes boring if you have to repeat the same areas 3 times before you attempt what they call "end-game content".

    3. End game and rewards:

    That is running maps (with map levels from 66 up to 79) with a Bossmonster at the end of the map.That looks fine because we all know that Bossmonsters hold special rewards like cool Uniques or currency or even more maps. In fact, they drop crap. I ran lvl 77-78 maps with a guildmate who had an 400% increased chance to get rarer items for almost a week and got nothing valuable.

    There are too many things ruining gameplay and have not been adressed as of now, one of the worst is desync. Loosing hours of playtime you have spend because your character dies and suffers a 10% XP penalty becaus the servers loose the exact position of your character and sends you back to a place where you had been a few seconds before isn't really fun. The official game forum is full of players complaining exactly this. And now, something funny: GGG declares this as a feature to prevent cheating.

    Partying sounds like fun, if you like dia-shows.Too many skills and character builds cause even high-end computers to drop down to a few frames when playing in a group.
    The last mini expansion "The Forsaken Masters" made it even worse.With this expansion players can have their own personal hideout, a place to rest or sort things in your stash, nothing special because this hideout is only a small tileset with a few objects like bricks or a wall or a few trees. Guess what happens to your framerate when entering your or other players hideout? But hey........you can
    decorate your personal hideout with hundreds of objects (of course you can buy them from GGG, but there are also free ones)....guess again what happens to your framerate and loading time ?
    I forgot weather effects. Yes, weather effects have been implemented to more and more areas over the last months although many players complain about framedrops in these areas.Instead of adding a chance to turn weather effects off via the options menue, they add even more.
    Opening the box....surprise, surprise......whats in the box? While running around you may find kind of a chest box, called strongbox.Introduced in the "Ambush league" a few months ago, you'll get ambushed by monsters when opening these boxes.Sounds funny, but.............many computers freeze for 1-2 secs while the game is loading the monsters. Click the Resurrect button and take the 10% XP penalty.    … Expand

    PoE is easily the best arpg on the modern market. After the latest new AAA releases, its position just got stronger.
    You can try Titan Quest, Torchlight, Grim Dawn, D4, but none of it will even come close to the huge content PoE has as well as the most important things: Itemization, builds, progression and endgame content.
    This is a arpg for life.

    - There are millions of different items, and hundreds of different uniques,
    - It is easy to see what is happening on the screen.

    Cons

    - Some rare enemies can be more problematic than unique bosses. This is especially the case in newer leagues as they have not been balanced. Some of the rares can often kill even the tankiest of builds.
    - Some affixes are poorly balanced and over-tuned. For example, corrupting blood has always been a strong affix and even has certain builds' attempt to counter this by making themselves immune to the affix over playing through it.
    - The lighting in the Sirus fight is abysmal and this is not helped by the floor textures used which overlap with his abilities.    … Expand

    I am writing this review after finishing the campaign after 31 hrs and reaching lv 72. The game is honestly amazing especially considering its age, the variety of skills and passive tree allow for so much customization and choice that it is simply unreal. My main issue with the game is that even though you are only just going through the campaign which is consider by most as a tutorial the game constantly throws new systems at you from previous leagues. I found this to be a bit of distraction while trying to focus on finishing the base game first though its not a big inconvenience since you can just move and ignore them. Main issue with that is if you are new player you are already overwhelmed by all base mechanics and throwing mechanics and content from past few years at you while you are still learning is not the best first player experience. Overall I enjoyed my time with POE and will come back for more.… Expand

    The best sandbox for the hardcore gamer. There are plenty of opportunities to do something interesting. Of course, I would like to see more opportunities to play content on long-forgotten and nerfed builds, but that's what we have.

    PoE took Diablo 2 as a base and became a new standard of the genre. Not everything is great - handling of character can be better. But it is best almost at everything else - a lot of interesting mechanics, build and skill diversity, huge potential of customizing your character (passive tree, jewels, skill gems and skill support gems), trade and economics, great crafting system.

    In PoE    PoE took Diablo 2 as a base and became a new standard of the genre. Not everything is great - handling of character can be better. But it is best almost at everything else - a lot of interesting mechanics, build and skill diversity, huge potential of customizing your character (passive tree, jewels, skill gems and skill support gems), trade and economics, great crafting system.

    In PoE you can do everything you want - you just need to learn how

    About Free to Play - I prefer PoE over Diablo model of monetisation. With equal money that you pay for Diablo you can buy here everything you need a few times. In reality you need around 30-40$ for tabs and you're very comfy, without them it's ok to play as well - I played at least first 500 hours without them. In Diablo I quit 70$ game after 300 hours. Also I personally like what PoE designers can do with shop skins. And skins for skills are just too tier. You can play the same build for years but feel it different just by buying other skins.

    PoE have one of the best development teams. They release a lot of content very often and with minimum bugs. Maybe GGG managers and designers make wrong decisions some time, but overall they hear players most of the time and doing good job at supporting one of the biggest and complex games of RPG genre.

    PoE may confuse you sometimes, but I think that it's better when it's not easy to master the game. I prefer to learn something new after 1000 hours of the game. Good job, GGG. Just listen to your players a little bit more and all will be great    … Expand

    It's a fragmentary but beautiful story. Full of rich content. Fluent gameplay. An excellent crafting system. You can feel yourself getting stronger and making progress. Although it is not included in the in-game system, there is a trade system. Regardless of the system, there is an excellent internal trade structure. Almost every item in the game can be traded. It has a wide variety ofIt's a fragmentary but beautiful story. Full of rich content. Fluent gameplay. An excellent crafting system. You can feel yourself getting stronger and making progress. Since 2018, the quality of leagues started to decline due to power creep and mechanic-simplicity, and PC system requirements increased to run the higher demanding graphics as well. The game is also completely filled to the brim with bloat from every league mechanic over the years, which is both good and bad. The good is that in standard, players have endless content to play. The bad, too much content to play and complete each league if you want to achieve the challenges. I would deduct 2 points due to the time commitment required to play PoE however, this seems unfair especially for players who can nolife. Nonetheless, PoE is a spectacular game with incredible depth and longevity. (and yes D4 is complete garbage in comparison). Can't wait for PoE2.… Expand

    This is the best in its class, and with continuing support, it will remain so. An upcoming sequel will help alleviate the feature bloat of such a long lifetime for a diverse and comprehensive gameplay loop with as many extended layers of complexity as one could only dream of. This game will live on in the history of video games as an exemplar of a genre it helped cultivate into maturity.

    I have 10k hours in this game and love it. Best game I have played in 5 years. Played D4 for a couple weeks and it shows, the gap on how much better this game is large. Cant wait for next season.

    Most addictive game ever. Complexity is great and will take long time to master, but there's plenty of helpful guides if needed. I would recommend to just play and try things to see what you like to play with. Live, learn and find your favourite skills/classes/ascensions etc etc.

    Od dziecka byłem fanem Diablo o gier z tego gatunku ale to co dostałem w PoE przerosło moje oczekiwania. Gra dla początkującego gracza jest bardzo trudna i wymagająca a zarazem niezwykle satysfakcjonująca. Ogrom możliwości i mechanik a zarazem system lig to coś z czego inni twórcy powinni brać przykład.

The game is fun and, for the most part, well designed but in-game trading is necessary.

    Maps have levels from 66 78. Anything worth farming and crafting (crafting is based on gamble too) starting from lvl 71 maps which will be unreachable to most of players since maps drop rate will decrease dramatically (drop rates lowered in background without any note to player) with each subsequent level of maps and will form a very high wall at level 71 maps. To counter that you will need insane amount of currency which can be acquired only through farming or trading. Since most items worth selling or using hidden behind lvl71 maps you will find yourself in process of very unrewarding farming.

    POE has "old school" (read outdated) leveling system. You will need to repeat process of leveling for every build you want to make. And since you will fail your fist build for sure, you will have to repeat this process over and over again while you learn this game. Follow the tip: go to the forum, find yourself a build and just follow. This will help to avoid much of frustration when things will not work as you was expecting. If you want boost your personage fast you may use some of game currency shops (link omitted per site policy)

    So as result I think Path of Exile is greatest ARPG ever created and its finally being released the 23 of October. If you like playing an ARPG with endless character customization. Endless build diversity endless skill diversity and a passive skill tree that makes me have a nerdgasme then this is for you. This is truly a game made by gamers for gamers.    … Expand

    Would have given 10/10 easily a few months ago. Great depth, tons of content, overall committed developer. However more recently the devs have let long term issues like performance, quality of life, and trading build up. They also has a vision to make a game that's very much a hardcore grind and not casual friendly.

    My favorite game so far. Even when leag start is lags and kick. Even on God tier pc it just not loading textures. It got something in it,that puts me on this game for hours and hours of grind. Grinding gear games did something special and gave it to us for free. New content every 3 months. Just give it a try. It's overwhelming but when u get it after 200hours you can just make fun of it.My favorite game so far. Even when leag start is lags and kick. Even on God tier pc it just not loading textures.     Excellent alternative to the Diablo series, and I'm glad that after many years it's still going strong. Biggest obstacle for most casual players it's the lack of any usual currency, so you have to trade with different items like a colonialist with some tribe members. The skill tree is also problem, but most people just follow blindly some builds or guides so they don't care.

    Ignore the game's bad reviews from 6 years ago. PoE is constantly evolving and I enjoy it like seldom before. I now have 2100 hours on the clock and there is no end in sight. Now go ahead and buy a companion cat to support the development! Come on!

    Been playing since beta, the game is great, gets regular updates,, has a huge variety of skills and is not class dependent.

    Graphics get updated with each league, and all expansions bring major improvements to the gane

    Мне нравится внешний вид игры и то как выглядят скилы, интересные механики, больше разнообразие билдов, можно часами ломать голову и выдумать новые взаимодействия между уникальными предметами(которых около тысячи) и гемами, новые лиги каждые 4 месяца которые не дают заскучать(хотя большинство игроков дропает игру на 1-2 месяце лиги), взаимодействие разработчиков с комьюнити, не влияющий наМне нравится внешний вид игры и то как выглядят скилы, интересные механики, больше разнообразие билдов, можно часами ломать голову и выдумать новые взаимодействия между уникальными предметами(которых около тысячи) и гемами, новые лиги каждые 4 месяца которые не дают заскучать(хотя большинство игроков дропает игру на 1-2 месяце лиги), взаимодействие разработчиков с комьюнити, не влияющий на баланс донат, не считая доната для своего сундка, после сюжетной линии становится всё тяжелее и тяжелее, если вы планируете играть в игру много времени то у вас просто нет шансов не задонатить на вкладки для сундука, тем более одна премиум вкладка нужна для трейда. Вообще трейд в целом мне нравится, кроме того что нужно альт табатся в браузер и покупать премиум вкладку, хоть это и дёшево, отличная игра для фанатов экшен РПГ и конечно важный плюс то что она бесплатная. Но есть и значительное количество минусов, очень плохая оптимизация, без ССД комфортной игры просто не будет, системным требованиям игры не советую доверять (уж для ендгейма они точно не подходят), довольно высокий порог вхождения в игру, хоть и гайдов много в интернете, как и в самой игре, но по прежнему новичкам в этой игре будет не легко, а если вам не знаком жанр экшен РПГ так игра вообще может задушить еще в первом акте, баланс скилов тоже не самый лучший, в каждой лиге просто есть набор сломанных скилов которые на порядок сильнее остальных, конечно играть можно всеми скиллами, но чувствуешь ты себя как-то ущербно, зная что можно просто взять метовую помойку и разнести контент. Так же довольно злое СНГ комьюнити, советую просто не обращать на этих людей внимания но почему-то всем очень хочется назвать вас дураком из-за того что вы не играете на ХК или играете скиллом который использует тотемы или сумонов, среди остальных игроков такое тоже наблюдается но как по мне в разы реже. Сам я играю в эту игру с 2014, часто остаюсь недовольным после сломанного баланса в новой лиге, который каждый раз фиксят около двух недель до хоть какой нибудь играбильности, но всё же каждую лигу хотя бы месяц да поиграю, может из-за того что сейчас в целом мало игр, особенно такого жанра, может у меня дурной вкус, но эта игра затягивает и от неё получаешь удовольствие, я думаю 8/10 заслуженная оценка, хоть она может показаться довольно странной учитывая все минусы… Expand

    The best game in its genre. Every season I upgrade 1-2 characters. But for some reason, after the plot, it becomes boring, although the gameplay after the plot is more interesting. Perhaps this is due to the fact that there is simply no goal and you do not see the point in the game. Sorry 8.

    Great game and extremely alt friendly, though no in game auction house means trading is a huge pain in the ass. If you're into the economy side of things like me, that means its iron man mode only or just expect to never do the highest level content as no one actually trades what they list on trading sites.

    I love that the game has an open economy, which means you can do whatever you want. I like to flip and play the economy game, rather than go out slashing monsters for loot, so there are so many ways to play the game!

    I approach POE like a single player game. And it a very fun diablo-style game. Even after the release in 2013, the game feels very actual. The story is very slow but also very long in scope. So I don't know if it's any good but there is a lot of variety in the quests. It's easy to find where you have to go but without giving you too much either.     GGG keeps on developing new and interesting ways to optimize your character and slash through insane amounts of monsters while the community keeps an elaborated trade economy going that allows even new players to get their fair share of good loot.
    The community has two faces, an ugly and borderline toxic one which is filled ot the brim with black humor and politically incorrect inside jokes and one that will welcome new players with open arms.
    The Mods aren't going to outright crush players for being a little bit rough around the edges but will let the player know if they go too far.

    Now to the spicy part of the review,
    THE MICROTRANSACTIONS!

    The MTX of this game are purely cosmetic for the most parts, but there are also some QoL microtransactions to be found which are fortunately not needed to enjoy the game to the fullest.

    The Pricing of the MTX is a little bit high but since the game is Free to play it is somewhat understandable that GGG is a little bit demanding here. There are Supporter packs that can cost up to 500 Dollars but will clutter evental buyers with Ingame and Real life goodies like artbooks figurines and more... I guess this is the obvious option for hardcore fans of the game that want to keep on supporting the game they love.

    I let you know that there are ways to obtain Cosmetics during the so called "Leagues" which bring new content on a regular basis and will demand some skill to unlock everything during the average lenght of a League (3 Months).

    I really recommend this game if you are into this genre. Bring some time to get used to it's many many systems and you'll find a lot to do. It's good for the casual player and freakingly awesome if you can invest some time into the leagues.    … Expand

I played 30+ hours, having one character complete Act 4, another complete Act 2, another complete Act 1 and starting games with others just to experiment.     The first 3 Acts were very easy and suddenly in Act 4 the difficulty ramped way up and you better find some way of obtaining resistance to elements. Though easy, it was not that much fun. Boards were huge and sprawling but you are really killing the hordes of enemies the same way every time. I also found there was no incentive to upgrade your main equipments and weapons with orbs as a better version can be found eventually.
    What I liked; the flask system, gem-based skills, passive skill map
    What I disliked: have to be online, no respec, maps change when revisit, lack of waypoints in areas which result in wasted travel time, barter system, orbs not being useful, weapons and equipments with wrong colours and links, repetitive game play

    It is incredibly fun to mow down hordes of monsters with the numerous classes / abilities in this game.

    The only downside is the incredible depth can be daunting when first getting into the game.

This game for me, was a Diablo 3 alternative for being free, in my first hours of game, I found an empty game both in history and gameplay, but when I had access to all possibilities of skills, infinite builds and a tree of vast abilities, each different build, 10 acts are like the tutorial for maps that are something intricate, which takes a lot of time to finalize.
    The exchange system is incredible, there is a free market within the game, the price is based on the percentage of the rarity quantity and its status (life, damage, whatever).

    Latecomer here.

    There is so much content in this game, it's staggering. Literally thousands of skills permutations to try out with the gems system. And so many world events to maximize replayability. Diablo 3 RoS felt unfinished compared to this.

    Looking for something more modern in a Diablo 2 mold, I thought this might be worth a try. Didn't have high hopes being a free-to-play, but it is very impressive. While quite different to a Diablo II, it creates it's own systems that really work and draw you in. F2P model is great, you can actually play it for free and not notice. Any fan of an ARPG must play this.

Blizzard back then was a very respected developer and it was almost for granted that each Blizzard game will become a masterpiece. Blizzard chose a different path later on and imho became a company focused on how they can make profit from gamers.

    Leaving Blizzard aside, Path of Exile adopts the atmosphere of Diablo 1 rather well. It is not as scary, you also don't feel the despair as you go deeper into dungeons but it does have a pretty good atmosphere regardless. PoE does miracles in the department of sound/voice and the graphics are pretty good also. It has arguably the most impressive skill tree in the history of pc gaming and adding the fact that you can unlock new game modes and continue with your character, you can easily spend hundreds of hours on Path of Exile. And the game is for free... This alone makes me respect the developers enormously. Here is a superb Action RPG, with hundreds of hours of possible gameplay time and not even remotely pay-to-play. So if we talk about value, Path of Exile beats the **** out of almost every game.

    On the negative side, firstly, the genre itself :) I am not a fan of looting&grinding based ARPGs and for me boredom after a period is inevitable. Silver and Darkstone (aside from Diablo and Path of Exile) are the only games from this genre that I really like, both of which being very underrated. Also, although the writing for the NPCs is pretty good, the story not so much.

    In short, if you are into Action RPGs, do not miss Path of Exile. If you are not into this genre that much, give it a go anyway. Perhaps it will teach you to think twice next time you pre-order a game on full price and waste your hard earned cash.    … Expand

Quando nós acha um item bom, aqueles itens que se encontra 1 só por dia, nós se depara que tal item não vai servir para o personagem, podendo guardá-lo para usar em outro personagem ou jogar fora... isso mesmo, joga fora pois trocar algo é muito complicado. A falta de um mercado é a reclamação mais expressiva.
    Outra coisa que quero comentar é o preço de itens e customização de jogo vendido que são absurdamente caras. Queria comprar espaço no baú, para guardar mais coisas, mas para isso eu precisa desembolsar R$ 150,00... o_O. Nem vou falar o preço para comprar um set completo no jogo.    … Expand

    Obviously, this is an ARPG for fans of Diablo III, Torchlight II, and many others. But it is FREE (legit F2P), and equals Diablo 3 in quality in almost every way. Huge community, playerbase, and continued support makes you feel good about playing it. It was a lot of fun, and I'm sure I will return to it again, and again.

    At this point, it has surpassed Diablo 2 even as the greatest ARPG game of all time. It's truly amazing, great fun, intelligent, addicting, and the economy/crafting system is as good as it gets.

Nice graphics, nice game mechanics, new arrivals, new games, great game for PoE Orbs. It is worth adding information about the new Fall of Oriath add-on that will double the PoE content. For all beginners players I recommend reading the PoE Orbs guideExtensive and fun MMORPG game for our time, although it is free to play, is better than other big companies (Blizzard).     Hack & slash games are addictive because they follow a simple formula: kill, kill and kill some more. Path of Exile is no different in this regard. During your quest in the perilous continent of Wraeclast you need to slay thousands and thousands of monsters but it never gets boring because there are a plenty of fresh ideas like the very vast skill system and barter-based economy that differentiate it from other similar games. But it's not a perfect game. The story is weak and the difficulty level is too low in the beginning. [Dec 2013]
