PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid’s Curse is an entry that more than meets the stratospheric standards its predecessor set and shows the full power of Takanari Ishiyama and his team, now free to do whatever they see fit, without the clear restraints seen on the first game, thanks to fan support. Long, long live one of the best mystery series in the visual novel genre!

Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is just as interesting a game as its predecessor, and the island setting and its folklore is fantastic.

Ultimately, Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse stands as one of the most compelling narrative offerings I’ve played in recent years, a tightly crafted story anchored by believable, well-realized characters, clever puzzle design, and a superb sense of pacing that keeps you locked in from start to finish.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is a brilliant modern adventure game, filled with mysteries, delightful characters, and gorgeous art. Truly, I never thought we'd see a second Paranormasight; its predecessor felt like a one-off flight-of-fancy for Square Enix, destined to be a fond oddity for genre aficionados. Now, I can only hope there's more in store.

PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid’s Curse is a fantastic story that may even make you wish the game was slightly longer. For those who want a mystery that transcends a lifetime set in a beautiful fishing village backdrop, this is for you. While not puzzle heavy, when they appear, they are well thought out and clever. When focused on the narrative, the story is well paced. The writing is smart enough to reiterate the things you need to know without feeling too repetitive. After this entry into the series, I hope Square Enix knows they have something precious in their hands and continues to revisit this series in the future.

PARANORMASIGHT: The Mermaid's Curse delivers a captivating visual novel experience, boasting a magnificent art style, engrossing story, and charming characters. Its refined mechanics and engaging minigames offer a fresh take on the formula, although narrative pacing occasionally falters. However, the complete absence of Spanish translation and voice acting remains a significant drawback, regrettably diminishing accessibility for many.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is a strong follow-up to the first title, continuing the gorgeous art style and unique gameplay system, and cementing the series as the peak when it comes to supernatural puzzle visual novels. While the puzzles could have been more balanced throughout, the narrative and characters outshine those of the previous game and make for a deliciously moreish game that kept me captivated from beginning to end.

PARANORAMSIGHT: The Mermaid's Curse is exactly what I wanted it to be. It doesn't change up much from the previous game, which is great. It keeps the fantastic structure and gameplay mechanics, while bringing in a new, exciting story and an intriguing cast of characters. It can sometimes feel like an information overload, and there's a lot of information, but the tale is so engaging that it never bothered me enough to stop playing.

Much of what I loved in Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo still applies in Paranormasight: The Mermaid’s Curse. It is a compelling mystery adventure game that tones down the horror aspect of the previous entry in exchange for more involved puzzle-solving segments. I think it is also an extremely tricky game to write about in a pre-release capacity because much of its charm is wrapped up in spoiling surprises. I have a few qualms with how its story comes together in a few spots, but it is a minor blemish in an otherwise extremely great entry in the Paranormasight series again, and I hope they continue to make more in the future.

Paranormasight: The Mermaid's Curse is an interesting sequel to The Seven Mysteries of Honjo, as it sacrifices some of the horror to enhance its investigative aspect. This ends up giving the game greater variety, as well as a distinctive tone within the series. However, there are also some gameplay rough edges that need smoothing out, and the lack of a Spanish translation makes it inaccessible to a large part of the audience.
