The first Blizzard shooter excels above the current competition in all aspects. A distinctive audiovisual style and plenty of pleasant details on each step are nice additions to its precisely-tuned gameplay. [Issue#265]

Pretty much everything about this game feels fresh and exciting: the class-based combat, the art style, the roster, the modes. It's equal parts strategic and twitchy, encouraging you to think while also rewarding skill, and its roster is a delight. Overwatch may well be the best new multiplayer shooter to come along since Modern Warfare and Team Fortress 2 took 2007 by storm. I can't wait to play more.

A gaming experience that’s more polished and exciting than I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing and one I’ll be sure to continue to play for the foreseeable future. If not for the inclusion of microtransactions, this would have been a perfect game in my book.

It's that intoxicating path of discovery that makes Overwatch so varied, so rewarding, and ultimately another seminal release from developer Blizzard. Overwatch is an intelligent cascade of disparate ideas, supporting one another, pouring into one another, and coiling around themselves as they flow into the brilliant shooter underneath.

A great package: fun, accessible and extremely well-made. It's a shooter as much for those pledge their lives to online play, as those chiefly interested in the occasional fun foray. It's an instant classic that, with the kind of good post-launch support Blizzard is known for, could prove the go-to shooter for an entire generation of gamers.

If you are a first-person shooter fan generally, and if you enjoy team-based FPS play specifically, not at least trying Overwatch feels criminal. Blizzard always imparts a deep sense of holistic quality into its games, and Overwatch is no exception.

Blizzard has created a solid team FPS but right now it's light on content.

Easily one of the best multiplayer first person shooters. Vastly better than Team Fortress 2, which i used to play in the past.

The graphics , sounds, and general production values are incredible. The game is very polished, and runs incredibly well even on very low powered hardware.

Movement is fluid and fast, and the shooting is satsfying.

Heroes are really distinct and have their own personality and gameplay. No hero plays the same like another. Also, since i have seen this online lately, disregard anyone who complains about hero balance and about cheesy tactics that are somehow "unbeatable". This is clearly a "learn to play" issue. I played the Beta a lot, and let me tell you, that balance is in a very good place, though could be improved even more. Everything has its counters.

While this game has only 12 maps right now, and it is repetitive, it manages to stay fun and interesting for a surprisingly long time. The main reason for this is that the game has immense depth under the casual-friendly appearence, it is one of those easy to learn but very hard to master games. There is always something new to try and learn. And the competitive aspect of the game will keep you coming for more.

The main downside of this game, is that if you have no friends to play with, you won't get nearly the same satisfaction with those who do have their own party. This game is heavily based around teamwork and tactics. You can still find success solo, of course, but will be more difficult.

Other than that, the game deserves its price. Totally recommended.

No, it's only high-quality shooter, and nothing more. And it's best one among others, like TF2 or "free" shooters.

Here you should only buy this game once and have fun. You absolutely don't need to buy anything more here, and I have played since August 2016 and have never done it. No reason to pay for it if you can take it for free because of your level.

    And skins here matters nothing.

Also people hate matchmaking, and of course they have some reason for it. But your skill is matter too, and if you are really good, you will increase your rating (for example, I raised from 2000 to 3300 for this 6 months).

As summary it's 10 of 10 among shooters with different heroes.

Secondly, this game is meant to played for the sake of having fun. Not for progression, not for prestige, not for serious competition (outside of esports team, of course), but for pure, unadulterated, fun. Sure, it gets repetitive, but it's still fun, even after 20+ hours, at least for me. If you like Team Fortress 2, you'll probably like this.

Its stable, the art design is great, the audio is on point, and the characters are all fun to play as. So where could you go wrong?

Solo play. That is, playing the game without a group. See, this is a game where teamwork reigns supreme. If you can't work as a team, your side will lose, horribly. Like, embarrassingly bad. So when you join a game where your team refuses to work together (whether through character roles or just playing together) not only will you lose, but you won't even have fun. You will start to dread playing solo.

And then you play as a pre-made group with communication and all of a sudden, this is an awesome game! You're having fun, you're winning and losing games, and before you know it, 4 hours have passed and you're wondering where the time went.

But like anything, you'll remember the negatives more than the positives. I can't recommend this game to people who don't have a dedicated group already. Solo matchmaking is a gamble you'll more often lose, and winning doesn't even feel that rewarding anyways. Its stomp or be stomped, out of 194 matches, i've had 2 that I would consider anything nearing "a close game". Plus, an event in which no one could have possibly saw comming some characters are in need of a bit of balancing. Who would have guessed?

I give it a 6. The good games are fun, let there be no doubt. Playing as a team, against other teams, is fun and rewarding, but playing solo is such an infuriating experience. I imagine some people will quit just from that alone, and I wouldn't blame them. Good teams are rare, but the bad teams make you regret buying the game in the first place.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.
