Honestly, it's a game worth playing, but it's not that fun if you are underleveled and don't understand the mechanics of the game, mostly in stealth and regarding the horde system. Once your characters are maxed out the game becomes just a little more forgiving and you can have more fun, of course having a full team, ideally friends is also an upside as there is no team AI in the game.Honestly, it's a game worth playing, but it's not that fun if you are underleveled and don't understand the mechanics of the game, mostly in stealth and regarding the horde system. It's a shame that Season 2 never got to be released because of the disagreement with the IP holder, I still have hope that Starbreeze will make an announcement out of the blue and OTWD will be updated one last time as they've come to a conclusion. One day. Expand

I was really impressed how great this game is. But after that, Imagine reaching the final minutes of an hour-long mission only for your connection to drop and, in turn, your progress to be lost.

When will idiots grow up and stop rating things either a 10 or a 0? It's like their moronic reactionary minds cannot comprehend multi-elements. It's all 70 I.Q. mouth breathers in their simplistic minds going, "GRRRR! GAME ME NO LIKE! GRRRRRR!" or "TEE HEE! ME LIKEY!!!! (clap, clap, clap)" . Morons.

Anyways, now that the rant is over I will tell you why I have no interest in playing

Anyways, now that the rant is over I will tell you why I have no interest in playing this game after playing it for a few hours. Its main problem is that there is no variation in the action. It would have done this game some good to include some very needed cathartic zombie slaughter fest ala Left 4 Dead style. Graphically it looks decent but they should have also not made it mandatory co-op which let's face it, the only way to have a decent amount of fun is playing it with other people. A single player variation is badly needed. It doesn't look like there is much of a story to it either. Overall the game is just OK and maybe there is hope for it yet.

It hurts for me to give this game a somewhat lower score. I've been a fan of The Walking Dead for probably six or seven years now and I have been waiting for a true video game adaptation. After the 2013 mess that was Survival Instinct, I thought hope was lost. Then this bad boy was announced back in 2014. I saw the trailer and was instantly excited. After many delays I was so happy to hear the game was coming out in 2018. Fast forward to this moment. I have played the game for a few hours now and it is definitely fun. Overkill matched the universe perfectly with its level design and overall tone. The gun play is alright, actually reminds me of payday obviously. The melee is not terrible but very repetitive. The graphics, again, are not bad but not earth shattering either. The real problem is the game always feels repetitive. Its either you are defending your camp or going out to find something specific... that's all. They did not even try to do something original. I am trying to keep this short so I will end it here. In the end Overkill's The Walking Dead is a very fun game to be honest, but it falls short on what it could/should be. Hopefully they improve the the game with more and original content via updates. They have already announced the upcoming 'Season 2' (starting later this month) which I hope will breathe some extra life into this game.

Note- Telltale's four season adaptation is a masterpiece and every Walking Dead fan needs to play it.

Hey, this is overkill, it's a shi*storm and I will be your guide. This is game made by guys from Starbreeze but you can see 505 games in every spot of this game. It's obvious that a lot of people invested in this game but it just doesn't work. Well... literally speaking it does work as a software but it's not a good game. You may find it odd that we have 2 kinds of people here. One of themHey, this is overkill, it's a shi*storm and I will be your guide. Well... literally speaking it does work as a software but it's not a good game. You may find it odd that we have 2 kinds of people here. One of them is the group of people who enjoyed the game because you can actually enjoy it. And the second group is people who may or may not enjoyed it but they are furious because the price is very high (AAA price) for a game which isn't a AAA title. 10$ cheaper and everybody would be happy. However, the developers and probably more people involved in this investment, because games are investments nowadays, are obviously trying to manipulate us, the public to love their game. Or at least to show someone that "people" like it. We live in 2018 and we have to deal with some "modern" problems. They made this game to get our money but they forget that we actually see that this product doesn't contain love or passion. I will express myself differently. We actually see that the only love or passion in this game is based on greed and we can't stand it. It's not the worst game ever, and I see that there were people really trying to deliver a good quality game but the Greed is everywhere here. I would recommend lowering the price and stop spamming 10/10 on meta because it changes nothing. Expand

Perfect Steam Sale purchase in 2-3 years when it's on 80% discount

Game is definitely not worth more than 15-20$ and I feel that this is the biggest issue

Many other issues are present like not-intuitive menu navigation, incoherent level progression and somewhat repetitive game play but overall if you find a mate or two to play it, it's actually not that bad

The Walking Dead license was wasted on an ugly game that plays crudely, offers little content and trails behind a decade-old Left 4 Dead. [01/2019, p.56]

Overkill's The Walking Dead can be fun in a group but most of the time monotony and balancing weaknesses are frustrating.

I really wanted to like this game, and after the beta I was hoping there would be more to it than what they were testing. Unfortunately, there’s not, and there’s absolutely no way I could recommend buying this game. If you could pick it up for £10, sure, but four times that? No way.
