Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a narrative adventure that will have you glued to the screen. With Shinkai-esque aesthetics, a meaningful use of photography and relatable characters, you’ll not want to leave the Dusklands.
-
Apr 17, 2026If I were to describe OPUS: Prism Peak in one word, it would be “profound”. The combination of aesthetics, gameplay and narrative feels like you have been sent into a Studio Ghibli or Makoto Shinkai movie, but one that lasts for a dozen hours and closely follows your own choices. The game explores very real and mundane challenges that every adult likely came across in their life, but does so through the prism of a fantastical, vivid world, full of magic and wonder even in the darker parts.
-
Apr 15, 2026Opus: Prism Peak is a remarkable narrative experience with a clear love of the art of photography and a genuine message to impart.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS Prism Peak feels at times a lot less like a game and more like a work of art. That is if you can handle the joy, the loss, the pain, or in other words, life. It is cathartic, it is real, it is beautiful, and it is sad.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is an outstanding adventure. Like its spiritual predecessor, OPUS: Echo of Starsong, it pairs a thought-provoking, emotional story with polished gameplay. At times haunting yet hopeful, it reflects life and reminds us how we grow from experience. I teared up often—sometimes from sadness, and sometimes from the bittersweet yearning to reach for something more, no matter the winding paths we take. The open-ended resolution of Eugene’s journey is moving and lingers with me. Developers SIGONO has once again created an artistic video game masterpiece with OPUS: Prism Peak.
-
Apr 28, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a reminder of all the beautiful moments in life, gently pushing you forward even when staying is all you want to do. We’re all made up of a collection of people, places, and memories, each one an imprint on who we are. It’s a beautifully heartbreaking story that moved me as much as 1000xRESIST did, another game that firmly sits in my heart. It’s a constant reminder to take things slow, breathe in every moment, and enjoy life for what it is when it is, before it all moves on.
-
Apr 27, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is an emotionally devastating, bittersweet work of art that takes an honest, if not always happy, look at life, past losses, and how to pick up the pieces and move on. A slow title focused on exploration and attention to detail, this game will appeal to anyone with the patience and determination to see it through, even if your first playthrough might feel overwhelming and incomplete… by design.
-
Apr 25, 2026OPUS Prism Peak leaves a heavy, lasting impression thanks to beautiful environments and emotional storytelling.

Apr 24, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a narrative adventure game that takes place in a spirit realm known as the Dusklands. Developed by SIGONO INC. and published by SHUEISHA GAMES, Prism Peak is the fourth game as part of the OPUS series, though playing the previous three does not seem required. In OPUS: Prism Peak, players play as Eugene, a 40 year old ex-photojournalist whose had a rough time in life. Along with a unnamed kid—Ren—who is fading and smells of Shade, the two must make their way through the spirit realm to the top of a mountain. Along the way, they'll interact and help a cast of different spirits, and search for a person known as the Seer. Through an emotional and impactful narrative, many puzzles to solve in Firebowls and the field journal, and lots of photography, OPUS: Prism Peak is easily a highly recommendable game. I found only a small handful of 'downsides' and these are really just personal preferences that keep it from a perfect 10 out of 10 score. My review probably doesn't do the game justice, but please trust me when I say that its a pretty good game!

Apr 22, 2026Opus: Prism Peak is an impressive adventure game that manages to provide an emotional experience that feels deeply relatable and well-executed. Its beautiful art style is accompanied by an involved gameplay with photography mechanics and a world that grows if the player decides to explore it as much as possible. It’s an inspired testament to the powerful experiences the genre has to offer and one of 2026’s must-play games.
-
Apr 22, 2026SIGONO’s newest adventure tells the story of environmental struggles that naturally become personal. After what seems a long life yet lived and having nothing to show for it, you’re invited to look back again and understand. Sometimes they’re happy thoughts. Sometimes, it hurts so much you’ll want to crawl up in a hole and die. Sometimes, retrospection gets all too real. OPUS: Prism Peak’s answer to this middle-aged conundrum is to look back, walk straight forward, and be nicer to yourself. It couldn’t have worded it in a nicer, more beautiful message.

Apr 20, 2026As far as it goes as a photography game, OPUS: Prism Peak is probably one of the best I've played. In fact, this game is probably up there as one of my favorites so far in 2026. I had a great time playing OPUS: Prism Peak. Even though I missed some information and couldn't get 100% completion in my first playthrough, this didn't really matter as I had fun playing anyway. The level of detail that's gone into making this game is just impressive. I can definitely see myself playing this title again sometime soon in the future, so I can grab those photos and field notes that I missed or got wrong. I'm surprised actually that OPUS: Prism Peak hasn't received more attention, as this is definitely one to consider adding to your collection.

Apr 16, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a cozy and addictive adventure that creatively uses photography to tell the story of Eugene and Ren. The implementation of its mechanics to guide players through environments and interpret events is impeccable, further elevated by stunning landscape design. Unfortunately, the lack of Portuguese localization creates a significant barrier for those without a strong command of the language. However, for those who can overcome this, it is a highly recommended and moving narrative experience.
-
Apr 16, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a captivating narrative adventure that explores the nature of memories and the quest to find a new purpose after the hardships life throws at us. Sigono’s work is inspiring, and possesses such power that it can be compared to some of the finest anime of the last twenty years. Prism Peak is recommended not only to fans of visual novels, but even those who usually play video games may find the plot intriguing.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a thoughtful and emotionally grounded narrative adventure that uses photography as both a gameplay mechanic and thematic lens, following a disillusioned adult protagonist through a surreal journey of memory, regret, and connection; its slow pacing and layered storytelling reward players who take time to explore, even if some design choices create friction in progression clarity and urgency.
-
Apr 15, 2026Opus: Prism Peak is SIGONO’s largest project yet, and the game delivers heavily on what it sets out to accomplish. Whether the game’s narrative resonates with you personally or not, it has a lot to offer in and out of the gaming space. The title’s narrative is at the forefront, supported strongly by its art style, gameplay mechanics, and everything in between. Prism Peak is an easy recommendation for anyone with an interest in narrative-focused games and will leave a lasting impression on me. Since beating the game, I’ve already gone back to fill out the rest of my notebook and collect the other endings.
-
Apr 27, 2026OPUS Prism Peak from developer SIGONO, INC. brings one solid narrative to the gaming table. It features humor, drama, compelling characters, and a worthy journey for the player to take on. All of this is wrapped in simple gameplay elements that don’t take the adventure too far away from the story.
-
Apr 21, 2026This narrative adventure delivers a profoundly emotional journey through a Ghibli-inspired world and soulful storytelling. While photography mechanics provide a unique sense of purpose, the core loop eventually becomes repetitive and suffers from pacing issues. Despite these mechanical shortcomings, the symbolic narrative and breathtaking art design create an unforgettable, melancholic experience.
-
Apr 20, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak feels like one of those rare titles that quietly lingers with you long after the credits roll. It’s a game that demands patience, asks you to pay attention, and occasionally frustrates with its pacing and lack of convenience, but there’s a clear intent behind it all. Every mechanic, every quiet interaction, every photograph ties back into a story about memory, regret, and making peace with what lingers. It won’t land the same for everyone, and it definitely isn’t built for rushed playthroughs, but if you let yourself sit with it, there’s something undeniably affecting about Eugene's self-discovering journey. And by the time it reaches its final stretch, Prism Peak becomes a game that'll make your chest tighten up from all the moments of adorableness, earnestness, and empathy between its cast of characters.
-
Apr 23, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a slow-burn adventure that uses photography and a surreal spirit world to explore regret, memory, and life’s overlooked moments. It stumbles a bit with pacing, but the game’s emotional honesty and poignant storytelling will linger long after the final frame.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a work that offers strength to those at a low point. It shows a strong understanding of a Ghibli-like visual style, with a carefully polished structure, and its photography mechanics blend seamlessly with the narrative to create a smooth, film-like and comforting experience.
-
Apr 29, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak tells a deeply personal story with genuinely earned emotional moments. It offers a unique take on the midlife crisis, filtering it through a magical prism that many older players will likely find relatable. However, it’s held back by an unnecessarily complicated notebook system and an overreliance on photography as a gameplay mechanic, which somewhat undermines the idea of the protagonist using an analogue camera.
-
Apr 26, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is a deeply personal, deeply moving, and at times brutally heavy story about how even after losing everything, you can still find at least hope.
-
Apr 20, 2026The story can be predictable, but the emotions aren’t hollow. It’s a sincere exploration of memories and the turbulent feelings associated with them. Playing Opus: Prism Peak reminded me of what makes photography so important.
-
Apr 17, 2026The storytelling is the standout feature of this melancholic adventure game, which is sure to utterly destroy you emotionally.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is simply art—from the gorgeous visuals to the profound story that will surely tug at the heartstrings to the emotional delivery of the character voices and the well-written cast. There’s little to dislike and a lot to love about the game, especially for those who appreciate a bit of fantasy in their relatable game narratives. Aside from the slow pacing sometimes and the need for a few gameplay improvements here and there, it stands proudly as a wonderful title, one that shares a tale that may hit close to home and that will stay with you even after the credits roll.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peaks is a heartfelt journey about the human condition and the importance of friends and family. While this is a slower-paced experience, focused on imagery and storytelling, every aspect felt engaging and enjoyable. The 3D anime art style and vivid colours make the landscapes really pop and become the perfect backdrop for photo taking. A real orchestral soundtrack adds a beautiful layer of depth and emotion to the already emotional story, and it’s hard not to fall in love with the charismatic cast of characters. While this style of gameplay won’t be for everyone, the story is one that will stick with players for a long time.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak stands out as a strong narrative adventure driven by its characters, atmosphere, and unique gameplay. Photography feels like a meaningful core mechanic, enhancing both the story and immersion, especially once the plot truly unfolds. While its many systems and lack of guidance can feel overwhelming at times, these issues don’t detract much from the overall experience. A memorable and emotional journey, highly recommended for fans of story-driven games with a unique twist.
-
Apr 15, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak is the most intimate and mature chapter in SIGONO's anthology. It is an introspective journey that moves away from the vastness of the cosmos to explore the fragile fragments of human memory through the lens of a camera. The interaction, centered entirely on photography, is original but becomes repetitive over time. The clunkiness of certain mechanics slows the pacing, making the gameplay the weak link in an otherwise profound experience. Visually stunning, the title blends the aesthetics of Japanese animation masters with a solid Taiwanese cultural heritage. The masterful use of lighting and a high-caliber soundtrack create a vibrant, dreamlike atmosphere capable of stirring emotions with every shot. Despite its ludic limitations, the game is a necessary cathartic ritual for those seeking auteur storytelling. It is a work that teaches us how to make peace with our ghosts and accept the weight of the past.
-
Apr 16, 2026OPUS: Prism Peak suffers from an overabundance of ideas, losing its focus by trying to cram too many elements into its frame. While the unrefined puzzles and convoluted narrative can be overwhelming, it still offers a charming experience of embarking on a photography journey in an unfamiliar world. Players willing to endure its slow pace and clunky mechanics to deeply explore its lore will still find something worthwhile here.
-
Apr 15, 2026Few games layer their narrative and mechanics as cleverly as Opus: Prism Peak, but the beautiful art direction and great characters are marred by tedious admin and poor pacing.
