Oozi Earth Adventure offers an addicting platformer experience that hearkens back to the days when "scrolling parallax backgrounds" were super hip and the entire summer's agenda was to set a new high score.

Oozi: Earth Adventure is an enjoyable adventure that really conjures up memories of classic platformers from the 8-bit and 16-bit days. It is simple and accessible which is a nice change of pace in today's market. Unfortunately however, that fact may turn the more "diehard" gamers off. Don't expect incredible depth here, just simple fun that can be enjoyed by gamers of all ages.

Oozi: Earth Adventure looks like it is a simple casual game, and it is, particularly on the easier levels. It is one of those games that you waltz though, with little frustration.

This platformer is hot stuff for those seeking not complicated games. If you are content with a graphically cute easy jumping titles, Oozi is just for you.

Oozi does very little wrong, and it's a title that remains manages to maintain enjoyability. While it may not have much to offer beyond its visuals, it's a safe game. It's a title that won't leave you disappointed. Granted, it may not be a title you remember as vividly as say Super Meat Boy or I wanna Be The Guy, but it's a loyal game that will entertain you for the time you play it.

Awesome Games Studios wanted to create a fun, casual, goofy game and that's what Oozi: Earth Adventure is. Despite issues with the controls and musical selection, there isn't much wrong with it.

An old-school 2D platformer that recently found its way on Steam. Oozi has its good moments, but it gets very repetitive very soon and constantly recycles its content.

With dodgy controls and a compendium of worn platforming conventions, Oozi: Earth Adventure just doesn’t pack a lot of punch. It’s by no means a terrible game or a terrible platformer, but my time with it ultimately amounted to more irritation than elation.

The fun, challenging Oozi: Earth Adventure loses its charm in a sea of recycled ideas.

Overall, Oozi: Earth Adventure is a nice little throwback to 16 bit gaming. The predictability of enemies may make this a walk in the park, however ramping up the difficulty to max provide a decent - often frustrating - challenge.

Does this intergalactic trip of cute little alien to our home planet make a good old school action platformer? There are many positives on the game - instant gameplay, good level design, variability of the game environment, wide variety of enemies, the game constantly serves new ideas and mechanics, good system of checkpoints, four levels of difficulty that one can choose from, responsive controls most of the time, beautiful hand-drawn graphics and nice music. As for the negatives, there are not many of them - very basic story that is not really developed further, sometimes the strange reactions to your commands while jumping, only few dull sounds and the absence of dubbing. There is no local multiplayer in the game which would make it more suitable for family playing but there are more than 40 short levels in challenge mode where you can compare your skills with your friends or family members. Otherwise, the game is suitable even for pre-school kids with choosing the right level of difficulty.

    Pros:
    - instant gameplay
    - level design
    - variability of the environment
    - wide variety of enemies
    - the game serving new mechanics as you progress
    - system of checkpoints
    - four levels of difficulty
    - responsive controls
    - hand-drawn graphics
    - music

    Cons:
    - story
    - sometimes strange reactions to jump
    - sounds
    - absence of dubbing
    - no local multiplayer

Oozi: Earth Adventure doesn’t bring any revolution to the genre but it delivers the exact gameplay that one would expect in this genre. I have enjoyed this cute little action platformer and thus I am giving it Thumbs Up and VideoGaming Father’s Index 8 out of 10 - recommended!
