May 20, 2014It's weird, childish and really not a masterpiece. Still, Octodad offers plenty of entertainment and is just good old fashioned fun.

CD-ActionApr 2, 2014The best idea for a game ever – an octopus must pretend to be human in front of its wife and kids. When it comes to the story it’s a great cartoon, amusing both to children and adults, but gameplay has some difficult moments and peculiar controls result in some odd bugs. [04/2014, p.62]

Mar 4, 2014A fresh and funny game mainly because of its controls, an interesting and likeable one because of its execution and humour. Dadliest Catch is a little game that's not only capable of pleasing but also drives you wild. The important thing to do is to realize that your nerve-racking is not a flaw but a part of the game. And by the time you see credits rolling on your screen, you will experience this beautiful satisfaction.
-
Feb 12, 2014Octodad is not only original in its concept, but also in the way you play it. It just a shame that the later part of the game is not as brilliant as its first levels.
-
Feb 12, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a charming and incredibly fun adventure, keeping you on your non-existent octopus toes and wanting more. It’s just a shame that there’s only so much to see and do in this colorful universe, with a premature ending that leaves much to be desired.
-
Feb 10, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a rare beast, then, because it made me laugh out loud the first moment that I ambled down the aisle to meet my doting bride-to-be.
-
Feb 10, 2014Original and funny, Octodad is a good adventure game with a inconsistent controlling.
-
Feb 7, 2014Short play-time and ill-advised stealth sections aside, you should give the at times hilarious Octodad a chance. You could start with trying out the older free iteration that's available on Young Horses' website. I wouldn't be surprised to see people with a fancy for anarchic humor fork out the full 14 Euros for the proper version, after enjoying this taster.
-
Feb 4, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch doesn’t always play to its strengths – mechanically or conceptually – but it’s still an enjoyable and unusual game whose charms ultimately won me over.
-
Feb 4, 2014It's a shame Octodad leans so heavily on traditional gameplay tropes like boss fights and stealth sections in its second half, especially when the opening sections suggest something quirkier and more inventive - but taken as a whole, it's still a minor triumph.
-
Feb 3, 2014A very fun and original experience, that, even if it's quite short, is very satisfying.
-
Feb 3, 2014Despite its late-game flaws I’m just so surprised the team at Young Horses managed to make this ludicrous concept work as a fully-fledged game that I still wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
-
Jan 31, 2014Octodad oozes charm like a leaky squid. While it’s disappointingly light on content and complexity, the game is sure to light up a room with its humor and whacky control scheme, especially in co-op mode.
-
Jan 30, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is hilarious, silly, annoying and engaging all at once, and that’s ultimately what makes it a game worth playing.
-
Jan 30, 2014When the bizarre controls make mundane tasks impossible, Dadliest Catch is just too funny to be frustrating. When it piles on the weight of traditional video game challenges, controlling the tendrils of an uncooperative marionette becomes instantly less appealing.
-
Jan 30, 2014It might be brief, but Octodad is definitely worth checking out for anyone interested in a charming, hilarious experience. Also, you get to play as an octopus, which... you know, is pretty awesome.
-
Jan 30, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game fettered by artifice and a noticeable absence of failure animations suggestions a game unfinished. Send Octodad back to the kitchen, he's not quite done yet.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 7, 2014More of a quirky technological demo than a full gaming experience. There's enough tentacles but not enough fun. [Issue #239]
-
Feb 4, 2014Unfortunately, Dadliest Catch is just an inconsistent, intermittently hilarious trifle, and not the game this terrific character deserves.
-
Jan 31, 2014Its brevity and reliance on contrived challenges work against Octodad: Deadliest Catch, but when it's at its best, it's a damn hilarious game that'll charm the pants off most players.
-
Jan 30, 2014Not unlike a cartoon, Octodad: Dadliest Catch shines brightest when it allows you to revel in the insanity of its premise, but every running joke has a limited shelf life, even when the gag is this good. If you can forgive that, and the sometimes incongruous challenges, Octodad's charm may just win you over.
-
Jan 31, 2014It pains me to level a harsh judgment against a game that’s trying something new and innovative, but Octodad doesn’t balance the frustration with the funny.
-
Feb 14, 2014As its main character, it tries to hide its real nature, but sooner or later you'll grasp it anyway. It's not for the impatient gamer, and some design choices ultimately spoil the fun.
-
Jan 31, 2014That the controls are frustrating and imprecise is kind of the point, but what’s less forgiveable is how poorly Octodad seems to understand its own premise.
-
Jan 30, 2014Octodad: Dadliest Catch asks you to overlook an awful lot more than plot holes.
