Mar 6, 2026Highly accomplished tactical strategy game with a Viking theme, excelling in its atmosphere, dialogue, and cinematic cutscenes. The balance between settlement management and combat missions works convincingly well. The experience is held back primarily by technical issues, though these may be resolved over time.

Feb 17, 2026NORSE: Oath of Blood has a good game underneath all the bugs. The combat works, the storyline is good, and the presentation is excellent. These things combined helped me power through the many bugs (and sometimes crashes) that I experienced. Hopefully, a few patches down the line, we will have a very solid tactical RPG on our hands.

Feb 17, 2026Norse: Oath of Blood delivered more than I expected, which is always a nice surprise. I really enjoyed the story and characters and the mix of history, melodrama, and humor. The combat was challenging and offered lots of tactical flexibility. Base building and activities between combat missions were nicely streamlined and kept the overall momentum going. Like a good movie or TV series, Norse: Oath of Blood balances historical elements with entertainment, then adds engaging combat and varied side content to round out the package.

Feb 25, 2026I’ve always wanted to play a tactical Viking-focused game, and NORSE: Oath of Blood manages to bring that idea to life. Creating a Viking settlement, embarking on missions and slowly expanding the story are all things that the game does very well. The same thing is valid when it comes to combat. The battles are engaging, there’s plenty of tactical depth, and you also have enemy variety as well. It’s not as long as many other turn-based titles, and it’s more story-focused, which can be a great upside for many players. Unfortunately, at least at launch, NORSE: Oath of Blood suffers from performance problems, including cutscene stuttering and issues like pop-in. Hopefully, these issues will be fixed soon, because the game shows a lot of promise.

Feb 25, 2026NORSE: Oath of Blood is a decent Viking-themed turn-based title whose strengths lie in its well-told narrative, gripping voice acting, and interesting characters and dialogue. However, it’s hindered by its plethora of visual and in-game bugs, as well as several unpolished odds and ends here and there that only add to a frustrating experience.

Feb 19, 2026Norse: Oath of Blood deserves praise for its nice presentation and solid turn based tactics. The linear campaign, its uninspired building mechanics and a plethora of technical issues however really drag it down. Clearly a game that needed more time in the oven.

Feb 17, 2026NORSE: Oath of Blood has kept me engaged with its well-utilized Norwegian setting and linear storytelling that integrates well with the gameplay. The combat is fun, offering freedom in positioning and combos, though it lacks challenge. Building and managing your settlement provides a nice break from the combat. Despite enjoying the missions, numerous bugs and issues prevent the game from being fully successful, but I remain hopeful the developers will address them soon, as it has rekindled my interest in turn-based combat games.
