    After playing so much NFS Underground 1, I don't know, this one didn't get me again.

    I love my memories of playing it as a child - because of that, I tried harder to like this one again. Unfortunately, that was not the case. For me, besides the main song, all the other ones didn't fit to me. That's ok since It is expected.     From a teenager's perspective, an excellent development of the series ,objectively good game that deserves recognition. My only regret is that I don't have a screenshot of the look of my white Nissan Skyline R34 clad in orange and red side stripes with black HKS stickers. The only thing that can be compared in this season is the #4 Mercedes team Blisten competing in the ADAC 24h Nurburdring.

    Sensational game especially if you put the widescreen mod the game looks beautiful! not counting the graphics and car mods. Cars don't destroy but have good physics to see them overturning in slow motion

    El mejor need for speed, para mi gusto, pero tiene 3 fallos, el tener que ir a las pruebas manualmente y no poder ir rápido o acceder desde un menú se hace aburrido rápido, es muy difícil de volver a jugar después de pasárselo ya que se te hace muy repetitivo, y por último la falta de postgame

    Best game of the series. Graphics, soundtrack, handling, car selection, tuning, race mods, open world and atmosphere are world class and the game has much content which is grate. It is also decentely hard not like the games after that are too easy.

    This game has changed everything for the franchise. Exceptional level of tuning, even the speedometer on screen HUD. Wide varşety of selectible vehicles, even including SUV's. All kind of race types. Free roaming. Widely compatible with all accessories.

    This game is the reason that we have Forza Horizon franchise today.

    One of the few games that amuses me.
    Oh, and if the controls were smooth, I'd enjoy it.
    definitely play it. I can play 60fps even on my potato computer.

    By the way, I couldn't see a story while playing. either because I skipped the fast-paced cinematics, or the game doesn't have a direct story.

    Still to this day I guess that Need For Speed: Underground 2 — it's the best part of the whole NFS series. First of all, because of it's ambient: I cannot explain it in a words, but when I play this game, I feel something, and that "something" makes that game a unique one, still to this day.

    I believe I'm one of the few people who didn't like this game that much. Maybe it's because of the fame he has and the expectation I had when playing. NFS Underground was a good game, but for me, it was more of the same.

This soundtrack, i have these songs in my playlist to this day, and i'm writing thi review while listening to Skindred - Nobody. For me it's the best game soundtrack to ever be created. Insane. Also the customization, i love it so much, and i really love the fact thatOne of my most favorite games of all time. I remember how i was playing this game when i was 6 years old in 2011.     Together with Most Wanted, NFS U2 is peak of the older NFS games and I'd recommend everyone to play it.

Они настолько вписываются в атмосферу игры и дополняют её, что, кажется, точнее подобрать их невозможно (разве что заменить The Doors ft. Snoop Dogg на оригинальную версию). Как по мне, по части саундтреков, рядом с этой игрой стоит разве что Bloodborne. Игра была выпущена почти 20 лет назад и до сих пор перепроходится с большим интересом, а это о многом говорит. Конечно, в ней есть недостатки, такие как недоделанная скомканная концовка, а так же гонки проф. лиги, которые ближе к завершению игры просто начинают повторяться, но на фоне общих положительных эмоций это лишь капля в море.     Need For Speed: Underground 2 is a good game as with the original, but my main complaint is the URL races and Street X. The URL races drag on for too long, which absolutely kills the fun in career mode and Street X is underwhelming.

    Очень хороший сиквел первой части - графику слегка подтянули, добавили шикарный и новый саундтрек, гонки стали интереснее и разнообразнее, стайлинг и тюнинг подтянули, ОДНАКО один из минусов этого нового всего - это постоянный фри рум, из - за которого приходится всё время перемещаться на машине от гонки до гонки, и это очень очень сильно бесит. А также очень большая растянутость.     Great customization, city, graphics, races. Car handling is good for the most part.

    It can get a little bit repetitive. Some tracks are just boring or have too much laps.

    Races that force you to have suv car and url races are crap.

The other problem are the graphics, they feel like a downgrade when compared to UG1, they lack detail, even on the PC version. The handling of the cars also feel a bit odd, when compared to other titles in the series because NFS has always been an arcade racing series (exception of Shift, Shift 2), the handling of the cars feel a bit stiff and they take way much time to respond to my inputs. The events are uninteresting and not memorable at all, and there was a bit of repetition in the events

    Now lets come at the good side of things. I like the openworld city a lot, the weather feature is really innovative when compared to NFS UG1, the cars sound very good, the tuning aspect is decent. And that was all I could say good about this game.

    I feel like it didn't introduce something new to the series. It felt like a remake of UG1, than a separate game. Most of these events were already in UG1, and they were fine. If people like this game then good for them, but that is not the opinion of everybody.

Также по городу ездят другие гонщики с которыми ты можешь погонять, теперь чтоб начать гонку нужно приехать на место её проведения.     A faithful Sequel, the new Stuff and features added in are great and they improved a lot of Stuff. BUT the Game speed itself is garbage. The Game just feels like you play in slow mode. I don't know why nobody notice this. Play Underground 1 or Most Wanted 2005, thats how the Game Speed should be. That's the only thing that bothers me in Underground 2 + that u can't rotate the camera inA faithful Sequel, the new Stuff and features added in are great and they improved a lot of Stuff.     Cela fait bien longtemps que la série Need For Speed est devenue un repaire à jajas et autres kikoos, à kévins et pathétiques jackys ! ainsi cet Underground 2 peut-il en témoigner, lui qui ne se déroule que la nuit pour se tirer la bourre (à 4 concurrents seulement !) dans une ville fantôme ou presque… sur des « circuits » ou des « sprints » avec parfois un peu de circulation (bien rareCela fait bien longtemps que la série Need For Speed est devenue un repaire à jajas et autres kikoos, à kévins et pathétiques jackys ! ainsi cet Underground 2 peut-il en témoigner, lui qui ne se déroule que la nuit pour se tirer la bourre (à 4 concurrents seulement !) dans une ville fantôme ou presque… sur des « circuits » ou des « sprints » avec parfois un peu de circulation (bien rare cependant) et bien entendu le mode « exploration » du style, « je suis un jeu de kékés mais dans un monde ouvert ololol » !

    Avec cela va de soi, le tutoiement obligatoire et la cool attitude style « fast and furious ta mère », le tuning bling-bling ta race wesh-wesh pour ta tire de kakou, de la grognasse comme mobilier pour meubler et j’en passe et des meilleures… Cela dit, ce n’est pas si désagréable question maniement ou pseudo-pilotage typiquement arcade (toutes les bagnoles réagissent quasiment pareil…) et sur PC du moins, le jeu est resté fort joli malgré le poids des ans.

    En 4/3 seulement bien sûr mais avec tous les détails et même un AA très convaincant, le NFS du sous-sol peut encore faire le fier-à-bras ! surtout comparé aux versions console PS2-Xbox de l’époque qui ne sont que purée de pixels, fête du flou, saccades éhontées et ralentissements en série ! malheureusement et malgré le patch officiel 1.2, NFS U numéro 1 a la manie très fâcheuse de retourner au bureau une fois sur deux après chaque course ! et sans avoir sauvegardé évidemment…

    Voilà qui fait encore un peu plus plonger la note ! qui commence ) être salée… alors que le bilan pour sa part s’avère désormais des plus sévères. Dommage, car plutôt joli-joli et avec des bruits de moteur excellents, il aurait presque pu distraire ! presque.    … Expand

    NFSU2 - классика 2000х. Все её боготворят, говорят какая она классная. Я не хочу писать субъективное мнение, НО... Игра затянута. Я так её и не прошел. Сеттинг немного отличается от NFSU, которая мне очень понравилась. И 2 часть для всех еще круче, кроме меня. Что то я отвлекся, так вот. Игра в целом на твердую 8, но то, что игра затянута до ужаса, это факт. Так же, меня немного задолбалNFSU2 - классика 2000х. Все её боготворят, говорят какая она классная. Я не хочу писать субъективное мнение, НО... Игра затянута. Я так её и не прошел. Сеттинг немного отличается от NFSU, которая мне очень понравилась. И 2 часть для всех еще круче, кроме меня. Что то я отвлекся, так вот. Игра в целом на твердую 8, но то, что игра затянута до ужаса, это факт.     Partiamo dalla prima cosa che si nota quando si avvia il gioco: la colonna sonora. Ok, le canzoni del menu non sono molte e dopo un po' iniziano a stancare, sarebbe bello se ci fossero anche le canzoni delle gare (che personalmente tengo sempre molto basse di volume quindi non le ricordo neanche), però Riders on the storm feat. Snoop Dog è una delle canzoni più belle e adatte mai comparse in un videogioco. Solo quella vale un 10 sotto il punto di vista della colonna sonora.
    Anche l'audio ambientale e i rumori delle macchine sono veramente notevoli, soprattutto per un gioco dell'epoca.
    Per quanto riguarda la grafica invece bisogna dire che anche adesso, con la qualità video al massimo e una piccola modifica per gli schermi a 16:9, il gioco si difende benissimo e per qualità dei modelli delle auto, illuminazione e riflessi non stanca anche giocato diverse generazioni dopo. Inoltre per PC sono presenti alcune mod che migliorano le texture e gli shader, donando al gioco un aspetto ancora più moderno e credibile.

    STORIA: Forse l'aspetto più dolente del gioco, ma trascurabile per il gameplay in sè. La storia c'è ma è estremamente anonima, senza personaggi memorabili (ci si ricorda di più della ragazza che compare all'avvio del gioco), e senza pathos. La mancanza di rivali ricorrenti e della polizia (un aspetto che può piacere come no, ma che di certo influisce sulla trama) portano a far dipendere le gare esclusivamente dal gameplay e dalla ricerca di nuove componenti con cui elaborare i propri veicoli. Due elementi però che riescono a sopperire a questa mancanza in maniera spaventosa.

    GAMEPLAY: Un gioco forse rivoluzionario. Ok che era già uscito il primo Underground e nello stesso periodo c'erano anche serie come Midnight Club e Juiced, ma non c'è storia con Underground 2. Una quantità infinita di pezzi con cui elaborare i propri veicoli, un buon numero di veicoli e un gameplay precisissimo e veloce.
    Il gameplay è molto simile a quello del primo Underground, con gare in percorsi cittadini, spesso in periferia, con molte scorciatoie e salti. La guida delle auto è incredibile, di certo arcade ma molto piacevole, non come molti altri giochi del genere che si basano sulle derapate e sull'aspetto cinematografico delle corse. In Underground 2 tutto questo c'è ma in modo perfettamente naturale.
    Una grande novità è stata l'introduzione del free-roaming, in una città dalle mille sfaccettature che si conoscerà a memoria in poco tempo (vista anche la necessità di scoprire i negozi di parti sparsi per la mappa).

    Le automobili presenti poi permettono di entrare ancora di più nel mood del gioco, in quanto sono tutte sportive e portate all'elaborazione ma allo stesso tempo accessibili economicamente. Non sono presenti quindi supercar come Ferrari e Lamborghini e neanche marchi particolarmente di lusso. Il gioco si può tranquillamente finire persino con l'auto iniziale se personalizzata nel modo giusto.

    A proposito di personalizzazione, questo è forse l'aspetto su cui punta di più il gioco, con tanto di valore che indica l'estetica dei veicoli. Le gare ci permettono di sbloccare componenti estetiche ma anche meccaniche con cui personalizzare la propria auto. In tutta la mia vita non ho mai visto così tante personalizzazioni estetiche in un gioco di corse. Le parti del motore invece sono molto più basiche, con 3 stadi di miglioramento per ogni componente.

    Per concludere interessanti anche i tipi di corse, tra i quali sono presenti anche diversi esperimenti e tentativi di innovare un genere come quello dei giochi di corse spesso limitato alle gare su circuito.
    Oltre a ovviamente queste ultime e alle gare da punto a punto, sono presenti anche gare di accelerazione (alla Fast and Furious) in cui è obbligatorio il cambio manuale, gare di drift, gare su circuiti semi-ufficiali e gare senza nitro in circuiti stretti (spesso parcheggi o magazzini).

    Gioco da provare anche nel 2020, specialmente al computer.

    Game is still great. You have to do a little updating yourself to enjoy the game in Windows 10 on a 1920x1080 resoltuion like the 1.2 patch and some Graphics Modpack from 2018 or textures mod. Разные режимы гонок Геймплей - разные задания, разные гонки, можно исследовать карту. Карта - много районов, каждый по своему уникален. Красивая архитектура, все сделано круто.     Different racing modes
    Gameplay - different tasks, different races, you can explore the map.
    Map - many areas, each unique in its own way. Beautiful architecture, everything is done cool.
    Atmosphere - those same street racing
    The soundtrack, it’s gorgeous, everything is in the subject.
    Tuning, there’s even nothing to comment on, the only thing is that you can’t move the stickers around the car, but you could do a lot of other things

    I would say its one of the top 2-3 racer games i have ever played. Definitely the best one of NFS franchise. Street races with neon everywhere, best customization and tuning ever in game. You could change everything on your car, pity EA didn't continue in such style and just cut and cut more stuff from NFS games.

The drag race in general seems super tedious. As I progress in the game the drag races seem even more bugged to where it won't respond at all to my controls and keeps crashing me into walls. I'm trying with a keyboard and a g27 wheel. Strangely, I couldn't find anyone else complaining about the drag races.

    In other situations you need to race 1v1 dozens of times and have to fake out the car to lose them. But often the game detects what you're doing wrong and gives them the lead erroneously.

    There doesn't seem to be a way to skip/ignore the unpleasant races. They all seem mandatory for progression. You also have to spend time ricing out your car whether you want to or not.

    The drifting can be very frustrating because I'm doing the same thing as people who are getting vastly higher scores, but for some reason my car doesn't work like theirs and my scores are much lower. There's no telling what's wrong or what I need to change. Switching to the keyboard to drift rather than the g27 wheel, seemed to remedy this.

    The game certainly seems to be designed for a controller. I figured out that due to this fact, the best wheel setting seems to be a very low degree of rotation. ~70 degrees or less seems good.

    Pretty annoying and tedious to be in long races and have to do them over and over because some random car appears in front of you, causing a head-on crash. Or randomly some car behind you shoots ahead of you out of nowhere right at the end after you've been leading the entire race, or bumps/crashes into you/spins your car out right at the end.

    There's a very low practical limit on the amount of cars you can drive/own, which sucks.

    Definitely need a trainer to even make it through the game (due to the bugged drag races), and certainly to make the game frustration-free and enjoyable.

    Not a big fan of the way the unique upgrades work. Each one can only be permanently applied to one car. Thus ones you've applied early on to lesser cars are somewhat wasted. There doesn't really seem to be a good/ideal choice for which car to assign the upgrades to.

    The "cool air camera shots" end up just screwing you over and making you crash.

    I would give it a higher rating if you could skip/ignore the buggy/unpleasant races.

    CARS:

    Due to the unique upgrades coming early in the game before you get the other cars, it was only applied to the Nissan 240sx (which seems like the best starting car), thus that car still had the best stats at the end of the game. Though, the RSX seems to have better handling regardless of the stats. The stats overall don't seem that important.

    I didn't like the RX-7. It seemed to be more difficult to get it into a slide around corners, and it seemed prone to spinning out when you do. RSX didn't have that issue. Maybe the RX-7 has slightly better control when used in hood-camera mode.

    GTO only maxes top speed. Handling is very low, and accel isn't great. Said to be good for drifting.

    Skyline seems good/best at everything. But only maxes accel. Drifts better than the GTO.

    Evo doesn't max out anything. Doesn't seem to do anything better than the Skyline, but seems pretty similar.

    For visual rating, carbon fiber body kit is the highest, even after putting multiple layers of artwork.    … Expand

    EA did pretty well for this game after their bad first game of underground series.
    This time they added a semi open world experience where the player could feel like he owns the road. The upgrades and the campaign mode are also improved, the music is the same quality as the first.

    Undoubtedly the best arcade racer ever released. Racing is fun, atmosphere is strong and likable. Customization and modification of you ride is endless, soundtrack flawless. Just dive in, and enjoy the wild ride! I know you are singing "Riders on the Storm" to yourself right now.

    One of the BEST Need for Speed game, if not the best. Tons of heavy customization options, amazingly realistic controls, never before seen in a racing game. Visually the game was all right, considering it's age. Also the story was lacking some content here and there but it recover with it's awesome 90's 2000's style. Overall if you don't like police chases in a racing game, this is the real deal.

    The customization portion of the game is by far its most appealing aspect in my opinion. The racing mechanics are slightly above average and while the game can be challenging at times but can all be mastered with repetition. My biggest criticism of this game is the lack of a immersive story and a incomplete ending. 6/10 Decent

    The best game of the franchise until today (2016). Nothing about exotic or supersports cars . The scene is the suburban world where the street racers, with their custom tuned cars, are gaining ground in the streets, competing not only for the finish line, but the beauty of tuning, passing through the streets of the city. That is the real Underground. This is what a gamer likes.

    I had this game as a child for the ps2 and guess what... I still have the game today. I still play it every once in a while and I still enjoy having this game in my ps2 collection of games. Anyways the graphics are spectacular for 2004 and the customization are a lot better.

    I'm played this game as a kid and still play this. I have the game on PC & PS2. Maybe its not good as the Most Wanted from 2005 but the nostalgia is so overhyped !

    Need for Speed: Underground 2 is one solid game. While it's not an amazing racer, it has a ton of race modes, customizable parts and it captures the tuning scene really well. First of all, lets count down talk about the race modes. First, there are the classic Circuit and Sprint modes, which need no explanation, then there is the Drag mode, where you basically go in a straight line andNeed for Speed: Underground 2 is one solid game. While it's not an amazing racer, it has a ton of race modes, customizable parts and it captures the tuning scene really well. First of all, lets count down talk about the race modes. First, there are the classic Circuit and Sprint modes, which need no explanation, then there is the Drag mode, where you basically go in a straight line and have to switch lanes and avoid pushing your car to it's limits and blowing it's engine, as well as avoiding crashing into walls. While the drag mode doesn't have as exciting tracks as the first Underground did, it still works pretty well. Then there is the Drift mode, which is pretty much the same like in UG1. There are also 4 new race modes. One of them is Street X, which is a really big flop by the way. It is basically a circuit, only on small and narrow dirt tracks, then there is the Underground Racing League (shortened U.R.L.) which is, again, circuit, only it takes place on speedways and airport runways, it adds 2 more opponents (making it a total of 5.) and there is no traffic. Boring. There is an Outrun mode (which is only accessible by entering free ride.) and lastly, we have the Free Ride mode, where you can explore Bayview at your own will. That is cool, but there is nothing much to do in the city, apart from finding cool areas and challenging opponents to an outrun race. Now seems like a good time to introduce you to the city. It is called, like mentioned earlier, Bayview. It consists of 5 districts. City Core, Beacon Hills, Capilano Heights, Coal Harbor and Airport. Okay, now let's see what cars we have. So every car from the first Underground, except Dodge Neon, Honda S2000, Acura Integra Type-R, Mitsubishi Lancer and Subaru Impreza, makes a return in Underground 2. We also have new cars, like the Mitsubishi 3000GT and Audi TT. We also have three SUV's, but it is a torture to drive them, so i recommend not to touch them. Now that we have got all that out of the way, let's talk about the customisation. It was awesome in the first Underground, but here it is taken even further. You can now add hydraulics, spinners, change how doors open and much, much more. A bad thing is that the game forces you to "rice" your car, so the visual rating bar would increase and you would gain access to make your DVD covers, which are requirements by the way. So, that is pretty much it. A huge racing game, with little flaws. Overall a good experience can be had, if you close your eyes for the advertising. Yes, i would definitely recommend the game. If the racing mechanics isn't the best, teh customisation will surely keep you entertained for a while.… Expand

    Crashes, constant stuttering starting after a few minutes, controls settings lost frequently, no ingame way to change controls, typical heavily controlled arcade racing, which basically means that the cpu cheating to give you the challenge, of course sometimes for your sake if you are behind. Nicely done aspects but overall lacks of clear direction and playability.

The races, the drag races, sprints, circuits everything is fun, and compared to other NFS series titles this one has the advantage of lacking police in a good sense, the street racers have taken over Bayview (the city where everything happens), and you don't need to evade a very difficult police pursuit after racing. The cars are also very detailed and follow up with their respective in real life models with all details, you can customize their headlights, taillights and add new parts that could've been modeled by a mechanic. For me the best part is customizing a vehicle, also there are SUVs for racing, even doing drifting with them, altough there are fewer models, but they also retain characteristics such as being really heavy or having a powerful enough engine. The story is also good, I feel like that character is struggling when everything and everyone are against him, the only friends he got is the people from the shops he visits and sometimes other NPCs will SMS you with new locations or tell you where some undisclosed races are being held for better prizes. What is kind of odd is that you have to go everywhere you want to race in order to complete and you can't do a simple jump to race as in NFS Most Wanted 1, but ok.… Expand

    I played this a lot as a kid. To this day it's still the best racing game i've ever played. It's amazing. None of the other NFS games even come close to the amount of perfection Underground 2 has.

    Great game, had everything a gamer would expect and more. Had hundreds of hours on my crappy Celeron M laptop with this game at 20 FPS back in the day. I personally don't really fancy the police chases, so this game was perfect for me.

    Whilst undoubtedly fun to play for a short time, this game rapidly becomes dull in the extreme. There are only a few different types of events to enter and the obligatory "car upgrade" ideas are also kind of dull. In short, a console game that wasn't improved when it was ported to the PC, with limited gameplay options.

    I suppose if you are a car freak then its much more entertaining but I'm not, so this also became more than a little dull.

    Good things: A real sense of speed and action. The cars appear to handle quite realistically. Its fun with a steering wheel and foot-pedals.

    Bad things: The cars are indestructible. Some of the simplest tactics involve running competitors off the road and torpedoing around corners without slowing down because you "bounce" off the scenery. The way you can replay races endlessly until you win them is also lame.

    Summary: Fun for a little while, but lack of gameplay depth quickly bores you to tears and there aren't even any pedestrians or small, furry pets to squash to keep you amused.    … Expand

    This game is one of the best racing games, in my opinion. But the game has a problem: near the end of the game, it seems that the producers made the final part in a hurry, repeating the same challenges, making me lose the will to play. But, yes, This is a good game. Oh, and of course, this is the best game in the NFS series.

    Need for Speed: Underground 2 is the sequel of the original 2003 game.

    Like the previous one, the game centers around the import and tuning culture. The games features very similar game play style like the previous one, but with changes of course. The Career is not no longer so linear, and features Free Roam, as well with other additions, like new race modes, such as Outrun, when    Need for Speed: Underground 2 is the sequel of the original 2003 game.

    The Career is not no longer so linear, and features Free Roam, as well with other additions, like new race modes, such as Outrun, when you must outdistance your opponent to win, more areas like the BayView Airport, and a much bigger city.

    The Career is obviously different, featuring different style of game play and areas.

    Also it doesn't have anymore the option to choose a race's difficulty, only the whole event's difficulty, by changing the Career Difficulty.

    Most of the race types have been kept, others added, but removed as well. For instance, the game no longer features Knock-Out Circuits, but also added Outruns.

    Other races have also been changed a bit, like the Tournament, now called URL(Underground Racing League) being simultaneously similar, but different. It's still a stage-style race, but featured on special race tracks, and even on the airport, while the original game featured the races in the city.

    Also both different from the original game, the sequel also has some places that aren't accessible to the player in Free Roam, such as certain drag tracks, but drift and URL tracks aren't accessible as well.

    There have also been changes to the original racing style, the Drift races are now playable not only on special areas, but also in parts of the city, in Jackson Heights.

    Beyond the game style, the cars handling feels different, by not being so responsive, which in the original it was sometimes ridiculous, but is also worse on higher speeds, by requiring to make long and strong brakes to take certain corners.

    Also the cutscenes are different from the original game, while the old ones where presented in a cinematic mod, the new ones are having a sort of interesting animated magazines, but presented in a High Quality way(but not cinematic like in the original ones).

    So, the final verdict.

    NFS:U2 Took the best and most important parts from the original one, and made them even better, but still with some flaws.

    Overall the game is great, and I still say that it should be played this days, by having a good replay value, an interesting city, and a good plot.    … Expand

    For an arcade game, it's even surprisingly playable with a steering wheel, with near misses causing no small amount of amateurish flinching. If you can't afford to attach largely pointless gadgets to your otherwise moribund vehicle, this is the next best thing. [PC Zone]

    The world is elaborate, the sense of speed is dizzying, and the customization could cost you a job or a girlfriend. But you'll still have Brooke to keep you company.
