This game has a lot of really obvious shortcomings but the core of it is fun and I'd recommend it for those looking for a break from the usual. I'm not qualified to review the multiplayer as I didn't get into it.

Controls are OK, special moves aren't hard to execute and many things allow you to home in on your opponent. Sometimes it feels like rushing them down is too easy because of that but it's not a major issue. There are various ways to run, jump, block, parry, and so on so expect some learning curve. There are combos, and I mean that in addition to the autocombo stuff. I 100% do not think this is a shallow game, It's just not very hard to execute. It's not very fast either so it will rely on mix ups, match ups, and strategy.

The game has assists (no tag switching like you might expect but that's for the best), supers, etc which I didn't find that interesting. Single player has various modes all of which are fun for a time. Sounds, voice, music etc. seemed , good like you would expect. I found the graphics to be terrible, we have much better anime shaders and effects out there. But whatever, solid 6/10, ciao gamers.

A perfectly fine 3D brawler with solid visuals and decent combat. Mechanics are shallow so not much to get into.

My Hero One’s Justice 2 is, expectedly, a slightly better, more story-relevant take on 2018’s surprise hit. The additions aren’t enough to sway those who were unsure of the original, yet appreciated enough for those that did play the proceeding game. No doubt the extended roster is the breakout addition, sure, but outside of those already invested in the My Hero Academia-verse, there’s little to be excited about, bar a damn good, albeit wholly casual, stylish anime fighter. And, seriously, who can argue with that?

My Hero One’s Justice 2 proudly belongs to the category of sequels that do things better and push the series forward. With more content available compared to the original game, lots of characters, great visuals and an overall anime feel, My Hero One’s Justice 2 is a fun fighter that does things right for the most part.

What My Hero One’s Justice 2 does right in this context is creating a gloriously epic display of combat on-screen – invigorating gameplay with the same clamour and panache the anime series is known for. Fights erupt with the same sense of danger and intensity when on the small-screen, with individual characters hosting a bevy of unique animations to lay a good smack-down on their opponents.
