There's plenty to like in Mr. Driller DrillLand. It looks and sounds great and the same core gameplay that people loved more than twenty years ago holds up beautifully. However, it ends up being let down by a structure that doesn't make a lot of sense and glitches which don't belong in a game released in 2020. If you have a ton of nostalgia for Mr. Driller or just need a well-designed puzzle game, though, there is still fun to be had.

It's not a perfect collection. Still, I'll take a re-release that's doggedly old-school over the microtransaction alternative. DrillLand is exactly the kind of unique, satisfying, and cutesy puzzle-action game I want right now.

Pretty good port and localization of the last great Mr. Driller game (drill spirits was decent). I wouldn't say this game is worth $30 (it ISPretty good port and localization of the last great Mr. Driller game (drill spirits was decent). I wouldn't say this game is worth $30 (it IS a GameCube game from 2002) but it's still pretty good. Since some peeps are kinda dumb: if you want to skip cutscenes, press either TAB or START! I didn't got far in the game is confusing in my opinion that's why I can't give it more than 6/10 but I had fun playing it, and may come back to it. Full Review »
