With some spruced up graphics, Moto Racer 3 manages to match the previous installments fun factor while surpassing it in a few ways...a good game but not a must have title.
-
MR3 successfully combines five extremely unique motorcycle disciplines into one convenient package and delivers a substantial helping of thrills and spills. However, it is not nearly as deep as it initially appears or as sophisticated as a third installment should be.
-
Combines everything you've ever wanted when it comes to moto-sports in one package...but there are a few things that end up costing this game overall.
-
There are five race types in total through MR3 with only three tracks a piece. That makes only 15 tracks total... that's way too few. There were over 30 in the last Moto Racer game, why downgrade your game instead of upgrading?
-
Overall, the lack of maps and diversity in bikes severely hinders this games longevity. The credit system used by Moto Racer 3 does make for very linear gameplay with very little reward for you once you have purchased all the additional maps and bikes.
-
I do not recommend Moto Racer 3 to anyone over the age of twenty-one.
-
Sim racing fans will find that it is too easy and not realistic enough, and will grow tired of it before too long.
-
It is sooooo arcadish, the same old tired motorcycle engine whine that has been used in every arcade bike game for the last 15 years was there in full crescendo. I almost found myself looking for a slot to stuff another quarter into.
-
PC GamerShabby joystick support also contributes to a number of annoying control issues. [Apr 2002, p.71]
-
Okay for a quick blast with its pick-up-and-play controls and simplistic physics, but just as you start getting into it, you begin to realise there isn't really an awful lot more.
