    Pretty good metroidvania with some really good gameplay. A few bugs tho bu other than that its a pretty fun indie game

    It's good. The story is a little convoluted but what we have here is an extremely atmospheric Dark Souls/Blasphemous game with a touch of originality. If you're used to Souls games then this game will be a piece of pie for you. The only complaint (on Steam) is that the game is too hard. To that, I say, 'Get Better'. This is a very challenging game with a lot of mechanics that veteran SoulsIt's good. The story is a little convoluted but what we have here is an extremely atmospheric Dark Souls/Blasphemous game with a touch of originality. If you're used to Souls games then this game will be a piece of pie for you. The only complaint (on Steam) is that the game is too hard. To that, I say, 'Get Better'.     very enjoyable game.combat very fast and hard especially when fight with bass.i think dont fair this score.actully have problem but i am absesded to the game. i refer actully play this game.

    Um bom metroidvania, com uma trama curiosa e bons controles, mas visual meio enjoativo.

    PONTOS POSITIVOS
    + Controles respondem muito bem
    + A trama deixa curioso para saber mais
    + Boa ambientação

    PONTOS NEGATIVOS
    + O mapa podia ser mais claro para diferenciar "paredes" de simplesmente " caminho não percorrido"
    + Visual meio borrado acaba enjoando um pouco.

    The game has good gameplay, although quite simple. The graphics are excellent for a PixelArt and the environments are just as good! The story is also good, although it's not a big deal, as you'd expect. The soundtrack is amazing, especially when we're facing a boss! The negative point of this game is clearly the character evolution, because unlike souls like, here we can't evolve the character's stats, only the spells. Which makes the character's evolution very limited, so the game becomes a little tiring towards the end. Also because, as there is no character evolution, to make the game difficult at the end, they only put more enemies on the screen, which makes the game frustrating. In my case, I died more in the final map than in the entire game up until then. Another downside is the variety of enemies, there aren't many different enemies. But for an indie game, I thought the game was amazing and I recommend it to all video game fans!… Expand

    Overall a great game, paying tribute to Metroidvanias as well as Soulslikes. It fit what I want from such games. The beginning was a little rough, but after learning the combat system, it became very enjoyable. One particular bossfight felt a little underdeveloped, but otherwise the boss encounters were quite enjoyable. I liked the story very much, again it is supposed to remind us of DarkOverall a great game, paying tribute to Metroidvanias as well as Soulslikes. It fit what I want from such games. I liked the story very much, again it is supposed to remind us of Dark Souls style of narration, but the themes touched upon here were even more interesting for me than the original's. Gorgeous animation, art and soundtrack (it's not very grand, quite simple, to be honest, but it's mournful main theme fits the game's art direction perfectly). All in all this was an amazing surprise and I'm glad I decided to try it. I'll be following the devs from now on. Thank you for this game.… Expand

    Black Mermaid understood the ideas that made the 2D Soulslike genre successful and added new mechanics that reflect its own identity. If it didn't have flaws like story being too messy and combat having balance issues, it could have made its mark among the best examples of the genre.

    Moonscars is a good debut by Black Mermaid with some unique ideas and missed potential. The gameplay is fun and engaging but some mechanics feel a little unbalanced and in some cases can even forget about them and still finish the game. The story is well written, especially the dialogues but the lore and character building lacks enough depth to feel close to them. Overall the story and art style of the game is forgettable and this made the sound editing and music of the game lose their power and therefore feel shallow.
