This game is RNG simulator 2022. There's no strategy to it whatsoever, just luck. Whoever crits most, wins. Whoever misses most with their 90%+ accuracy ranged attacks, loses. There's an entire game mode walled behind paid currency. You pay for the game AND have to fork out a ton in microtransactions to unlock content. There's no game balance and one Captain is beyond broken. And, oh yeah, the season track is agonizingly long. All in all, this is a terrible game unless you love RNG, loot boxes, and shallow gameplay. Expand

The good stuff is a crisp UI, cool and interesting worldbuilding, and some solid core mechanics. Devs are very responsive, which is just a breath of fresh air.

For an early access game this is a blast! The gameplay is tight and tactical, and while there are a few balance issues the community managers are very responsive. There's been a big todo about the monetization, but $30 gets you every unit in the game, so there's no need to spend more unless you want "legendary" units, which don't do anything yet. Pretty good game, just need to complete the tutorial to get all units in the game (just open boosters with the tutorial currency), queues are really fast, the longest I had was 6 seconds, graphics are pretty good and there's also the audio drama which is how I got to know the game in the first place. Runs on integrated graphics pretty well, using medium graphics.

Fantastic game, I played 50 hours over six days during the playtests -- about 25 playing multiplayer and 25 painting. The microtransactions are a non-issue in my opinion, since you can unlock everything in the game within a few hours of playing. I honestly don't even know why they're in the game to begin with, I can't imagine anyone is going to feel the need to buy anything.

There are some minor issues that need to be polished, particularly some minor UI annoyances, but I'm rating the game 10 anyway because A) it's early access and B) the devs are incredibly responsive to player feedback, so I can only see things getting better from here.

I love the painting aspect of the game, but the gameplay kinda sucks. I don't think it's horrible by any means, but there's a lot left to random chance in combat. It's still early, but the game is super unbalanced in its current state. It's a game with potential, but they have a LOT to sort out before it becomes fun.

The game gets worse with every update. The XP gain was already nightmarishly slow before the most recent game patch. Then they nerfed it by 90%. It's unplayable now. They removed all the ship skills, which were a really fun part of the game. The changes just feel like they are running around blind behind the scenes and have no clue what this game is supposed to be. I wanted to love this,The game gets worse with every update. Moonbreaker is an utterly unique game, unlike anything else on the market right now. Though I didn’t find a personal connection to the game’s cast of characters, it’s impossible not to recognize the game’s fantastic conversion of tabletop wargaming to the virtual space, creating a game with tons of customization and fun, forever replayable mechanics.
