Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin provides an incredibly accurate representation of the traditional combat mechanics through the lens of a Japanese turn based RPG, as well as some colorful, expressive, living characters that make up for a rather gimmicky plot. Those willing to stay for the long haul will be happy to collect and polish a variety of monsters ranging from the series’ earliest roots to the MHW era.
  2. If you're after a new, turn-based take on Monster Hunter, then Monster Hunter Stories 2 largely delivers. The story isn't going to make your jaw drop, the world's rather bland, and it lacks in-depth crafting options. But - and it's a big but - the combat is genuinely a lot of fun, and collecting monsties is very moreish. Plus, I like being able to ride my monstie in battle and pull off special moves that practically nuke monsters from orbit. Len Goodman would give that in isolation a 10, at least.

Not sure about this game. Although a lot of elements of RPG are fun to play there are things that gives a lot of frustrations. I reallyNot sure about this game. Although a lot of elements of RPG are fun to play there are things that gives a lot of frustrations. I really dislike to explore the same caverns, over and over again. And this became really apparent around 2/3 of the game. You also have to fight the same sets of monsters from region to region, and this elevate the boring factor a lot, since you get around 3-4 different monsters in a given region. Some of those are easy to beat, others way too hard. I am at the Nergigante and I wanted to uninstall this game pretty bad, because the story just seems to repeat itself at each village. I give it 60%, and I am feeling generous Full Review »

    1) The Gene System is so deep that you can make any sort of build you want, Crit/Attack/Defensive/Support/ a little from everything it's simply amazing honestly.

    2) Engaging Storyline that keeps you investing and want to know more about the main problem of the game and the cutscenes are pure bliss.

    3) Find "Shiny" Eggs is so God damn addictive it's hard to stop! I'm just having a blast finding multiple of the same monstie and combining them to make this super ultra amazing monstie with perfect genes.

I highly recommend this game to anyone that like MH and Pokemon fans alike!
