I don't give out 10s often but Sunbreak definitely deserves it. They have taken the base game and made it bigger and better in every way, whilst also adding a ton of much welcome QoL tweaks. A big complaint in base Rise was the lack of end-game but that has been remedied with hard, rewarding hunts post credits. They have also upped their game in the fashion department with some trulyI don't give out 10s often but Sunbreak definitely deserves it. They have taken the base game and made it bigger and better in every way, whilst also adding a ton of much welcome QoL tweaks. A big complaint in base Rise was the lack of end-game but that has been remedied with hard, rewarding hunts post credits. They have also upped their game in the fashion department with some truly incredible sets to unlock for you and your buddies. My only gripe is you still can't layer/transmog your non Rampage weapons, so I hope this is added at some point.

Simply put, if you enjoyed Rise you will love Sunbreak, it's better in every way you can imagine, and then some.… Expand

My only critique is the pacing. I wish the new content was spread out more, but that's a nitpick really. Great stuff besides that. I've heard some people have save file bugs on PC buy I never got that and it runs great on my end (1440p 90fps). Rise was my least favorite Monster Hunter and Sunbreak addressed a lot of the issues I had with it. Rampages are gone now. There's a good endgameMy only critique is the pacing. 역시 갓콤인가 ㄷㄷ
몬헌 라이즈 선브레이크 출시 5일만에 전세계 200만 돌파했던데
진짜 엄청나긴 한듯.

확실히 선브레이크가 이미 검증된 AAA급 초우주갓겜인 몬헌 라이즈의 초대형 확장팩이라 이렇게까지 세계적으로 대호평인듯

Not sure where the troll reviews are coming from but its not MH fans. The additions they made to an already fun game are just awesome! They really listened to the community and learned a lot from older additions they tried to make in the past that didn't quite pan out (like clutch claw from world/born). The new endemic life,hunting helpers, monsters, FRONTIER monster, maps,melding,MR armorNot sure where the troll reviews are coming from but its not MH fans. The additions they made to an already fun game are just awesome! They really listened to the community and learned a lot from older additions they tried to make in the past that didn't quite pan out (like clutch claw from world/born). The new endemic life,hunting helpers, monsters, FRONTIER monster, maps,melding,MR armor and weapons, Palico & Palamute abilities, followers, and hub are all great additions. If you are into a monster hunter game where you are kind of a super human then this game is for you. I am so pleased with the devs for listening to feedback, giving us monsters we really wanted, and making a good effort to offer different varieties of difficulty. The story is much more interesting when compared to the rise base game. The NPCs are actually helpful this time as compared to the Iceborne which is literally just forcing and watching you kill monsters. New skills are interesting and allows players to hv more options and playstyle.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. 시작하기에 앞서- 부정평가 대부분은 지들이 모드질해놓곤 크래시나서 징징대는 글이나 안티니 신경 안 써도 된다. 개인적으로는 정말 명작이었다. 추가 몬스터 수도 확장팩이라는 개념으로서는 적당하고, 패턴이나 손맛도 대부분 좋았다. 또한 신규 컨텐츠인 '맹우 퀘스트'는 나같은 엔딩 전까지는 솔플로 게임하는, 혹은 아예 쭉 솔플만 하는 일부 플레이어에게는 가뭄의 단비를 넘어 기적같다고 느꼈다. 지금부터는 아무도 읽지 않겠지만 내가 선브레이크에 대해 느낀점을 적어보려 한다. 몬스터- 매우 크게 발전했다. 전작의 몬스터들이 더욱 훌륭하게 발전되어 돌아왔다. 다만 신규 몬스터의 수가 부족하다 느낄 수 있는데, 전작들이 아종으로 몹 수를 때운게 큰 것, 변경점이 그렇게 크진 않다는 것을 생각하면, 오히려 원종의 수로는 비슷하다 볼 수 있다. 무엇 보다 이 게임의 아종은, 그 수는 매우 적으나, 그들이 하나하나 개성이 강렬하다는 것이 특징이다. 그 예로, 비슈텐고 원종은 감을 던지거나, 뿌리거나, 부수거나 하는 식으로 싸우지만, 그 아종은 솔방울이 폭발하는 성질을 이용해서 중거리 공격을 하거나, 트릭키한 패턴을 선보인다. 또한, 이번작에서는 쌍검, 활, 라이트/헤비 보우건, 수렵피리, 건랜스, 차지액스 정도를 제외하면 무기별로 하나씩만 만들어서 그걸 엔드컨텐츠까지 써먹거나, 업데이트에 따라 조금씩만 바꾸면 끝이었던 전작들과는 다르게 '속성 무기 우대'를 통해 다양한 몬스터들을 잡을 수 있는 기틀을 마련했다. 이런 변화를 통해 더 다양한 몬스터들을 잡을 수 있다는 것은 매력적으로 느껴진다.

맹우 퀘스트- 이번 선브레이크의 가장 신규 컨텐츠로, 솔로플레이의 단점인 '외로움'을 완화시켜준다. 말만 번지르르하게 늘어놨지, 솔로플레이가 외로운 것은 아니다. 하지만 여태 전통의 고양이(아이루)와 새로운 강아지(가루크)와 사냥하는것이 전부고, 사람 목소리가 들려봤자 채팅창에서 잡담만하던 NPC들만 보다가 바로 옆에서 같이 사냥하는 인간형 NPC를 보면 감회가 새롭다. 멀티의 스트레스이자 웃음 요인인 수레(다운)도 이 녀석들은 안 타기 때문에 자기가 아무리 못 해도 플레이어를 한방에 골로 보내는 몬스터가 아닌 이상은 퀘스트 클리어가 가능하기에 소재 모으기에도 좋다는 것이 장점이다. 그리고 캡콤 특유의 쓸데없는 디테일이 여기서 드러나는데, 서로 자매관계인 히노에/미노토 or 피오레네/론디네 와 같은 맹우(같이 사냥 나가는 NPC들)들이나, 갈레아스/후겐 이나 우츠시/제이 와 같은 관계가 있는 맹우들끼리도 특별한 전용 대사가 마련되어 있다. 이걸 찾아보는것 또한 소소한 즐거움을 줄 수 있을것이다.

스토리는 정말로 허구헌날 납치당하는 공주를 구하러 고생하는 모 아저씨 게임만 본 게 아니라면 기대하지는 말자...

무기 밸런스-
본편에서는 아이스본과 4G의 사이인 참 애매하게 플레이어를 엿먹이는 밸런스였지만, 이번 선브레이크는 달랐다. 시리즈 전통의 유리대포인 원거리 무기들은 대미지는 높게하되 안전성을 낮추었고, 본편에서의 밸런스 파괴자였던 [태도]는 대미지를 반토막낸 대신 과 를 줌으로써 안정성을 높였고, 본편 최약 무기였던 [건랜스]는 《포격》의 기초 대미지를 올려 딜량을 끌어올렸다. [해머]는 잘 쓰이지 않던 를 버프해 다양한 기술의 공존을 가능하게 했고, [대검]은 주류 메타이지만 위험한 《태클》을 이용한 플레이를 벗어나 신 기술 로 안전성과 대미지를 더욱 올렸다. 그 외에도 [수렵피리]정도를 제외하면 모든 무기가 더욱 재미있어졌다고 보아도 될 만큼 뛰어난 무기 밸런싱을 보여주었다.

종합 : 《몬스터 헌터 라이즈 : 선브레이크》는 시리즈와 관계없이, 액션 게임을 좋아한다면 누구나 즐길만한 게임이다. 다만 개인적인 체감으로, 전작 《몬스터 헌터 : 월드》와 그 확장팩인 《몬스터 헌터 월드 : 아이스본》이상으로 난이도 격차가 심하기에, 내가 어려운 게임을 잘 못한다고 생각한다면, 혹은 싫어한다면 충분히 고려하고 구매하기를 추천한다.… Expand

Not sure why some people are being sassy divas about this dlc. It’s amazing. Also, for those who are more casual players, it’s a fantastic way to get higher level gear quickly so you can take out some of the late game elder dragons. Adds a lot and plans to add more along the way. Great addition to an already great entry to the series. Well worth the asking price imo

I liked the base Rise on PC, but it felt too short and lacked any kind of end-game content.

Sunbreak added a lot of stuff that you can put dozens of more hours into, including an investigation system, follower quests where you team up with NPCs, and a brand-new gear augmentation system that requires farming. There's also new monsters, and an all new rank - and the difficulty getsI liked the base Rise on PC, but it felt too short and lacked any kind of end-game content.

Sunbreak added a lot of stuff that you can put dozens of more hours into, including an investigation system, follower quests where you team up with NPCs, and a brand-new gear augmentation system that requires farming.
There's also new monsters, and an all new rank - and the difficulty gets pretty close to perfect!
Altogether, super enjoyable! If I game basic Rise a 7/10, then Sunbreak elevated it to a 9/10 just for coop fun! Story line, characters and such, i won't even include in the rating because I do not care.… Expand

I've played 150hrs for G rank and I love every single part of it except frequent force quit on PC, this is the best action game.
Old hunters always complain older titles are better, it's like a ritual for monster hunter community which is pretty sad.
Hope Capcom will make next title more beautiful and action-packed!

the weapons are fun to use, the monsters are funny to fight, the 2 new maps are splendid, there is a lasting endgame, it is optimized well on pc it is fun with friends, what more could you want?

Visual: 9/10 Its monster hunter, but back to its roots and bright and colorful.
Audio: 9/10 monsters sound great, hits sound satisfying
Gameplay:9/10 This may be divisive but I don't really care. Wirebug is an great, takes the place of hunter arts from MHGU but adds very fun mobility. Good-
New monsters and subspecies along with foes from previous entries are challenging and fun to fight. Existing monsters get new moves that keep encounters fresh. Switch Skill Swap and new Skills are fun to use. Follower Quests make for a fun side-activity while Anomaly Quests finally provide a decent endgame. Quality of life changes and new features like Hopping Skewers and BuddyGood-

Switch Skill Swap and new Skills are fun to use. Follower Quests make for a fun side-activity while Anomaly Quests finally provide a decent endgame. Quality of life changes and new features like Hopping Skewers and Buddy Recon are excellent additions to the current formula.

Bad-
Pacing is a bit slow at the beginning and it takes time for the new monsters to appear. New environments are pretty but don't mix up the gameplay loop or add anything game changing. No new rampage content or any integration of existing content into the current game. Endgame is still lackluster compared to Iceborne.

Thoughts-
If I had to sum up my 30 plus hours or so with Sunbreak, it’s that this is more Monster Hunter Rise content for those who like Monster Hunter Rise. If you’re a big fan of World who couldn’t get into Rise and wonder if Sunbreak will help, then it may not necessarily be for you. However, if you enjoyed Rise, grinding out everything from the Rampage to Crimson Glow Valstrax, then, well, you already own Sunbreak and everything is pretty much moot. It doesn’t go out of its way to reinvent the wheel and takes some time to truly open up. Nevertheless, the new skills and gear, tons of new quests, challenging endgame and new monsters are more than enough to keep you engaged for a good long while.… Expand

Apart from the suboptimal multiplayer matching, Sunbreak is damn good Monster Hunter and I hope they keep some of the features introduced here as the series moves forward, especially the human NPC companions. For anyone who owns and enjoyed Rise, picking up Sunbreak should be a no-brainer. It’s an intelligent expansion that retains the best of Monster Hunter Rise and adds more than enough to warrant its existence atop an already-meaty title.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak offers new content that is not only impressive in scale but also in its quality. While there are some notable elements like difficulty in searching for multiplayer games and afflicted variations being a bit over tuned holds it back from being a perfect expansion, the positives very easily outweigh the negatives.

If you'll ignore all the little hiccups then Sunbreak can offer you tens if not hundreds of hours of engaging gameplay. But sadly the game as a whole feels a little bit stale, so it's possible you won't be coming for more after beating the story campaign missions.
