    In short, its more varied puzzle pieces, greater environmental challenge and clearer visual presentation all add up to make Mini Motorways a worthy evolution of Dinosaur Polo Club's minimalist transport formula. Despite appearing first on the Apple Arcade, Mini Motorways feels right at home on PC, and its intuitive mouse controls make for a much better architect's pen than a motion controlled remote. Add in daily and weekly challenges to its bumper crop of mainline maps (with more to come every few months after launch, as well as new game modes and the same breadth of updates we saw in Mini Metro) and Mini Motorways is a fine second outing for this vehicular puzzle series. Dedicated Mini Metro-ites may find Motorways a tad too familiar for it to enter their own god tier of video games, but if you're hungry for more of what Dinosaur Polo Club do best, then this is one diversion you won't want to miss.

    And it’s still such a cute, colourful, tiny hubris that they’ll sketch out for themselves. The sort that continues to demand just one more try, especially when the astronomical totals already appearing on the daily and weekly trial scoreboards mean there must be some new trick to learn. Mini Motorways is another miniature masterpiece that captivates and challenges in equal measure, a game made equally of tiny charms and tiny calamities.

There is no pressure (unless you are at 1200 trips and a goddamn white supermarket spawned in the middle of your blue houses), it is just a chill yet also strategic game. It is incredibly polished with no bugs (that I have found or noticed) and it nails its core concept and ideas. Definitely worth the 10 USD.… Full Review »

    It was intended to be a kind of sequel to Mini Metro and it very much is. Unlike Mini Metro, I actually like this game, it’s the definition of a casual game. You have cars that need to get to places, and you build the roads; if they don’t reach their destination fast enough, game over. It’s that simple. This game too follows the principle of “easy to learn, hard to master” and that is totally the case. You start with 1 destination and 1 car to reach it and you’re gonna just chill and think to yourself: “It’s gonna be easy, bring it on!”, but like 10 minutes later when you have hundreds of fares complete already the cars start to add up and that’s where some strategy comes in. Diagonal roads are key to save road tiles, although they’re rarely an inconvenience. The only time I worried about running out of them was when I did color segregation runs to not have to deal with different colored cars intersecting each other’s ways to their destinations. Motorways are very satisfying to use and see get used as well. Roundabout’s are pretty difficult to utilize correctly; at least for me, some people swear by them. Bridges and tunnels are basically the same, the only difference is that tunnels are only available in some later levels. Traffic lights are a mixed bag for me. In one junction they work, in another, they don’t. The levels being named after well-known cities don’t do much for me. The only difference from one another is the river/mountain layout which are named after a river/mountain near that city. Any name could have been written there and nothing would’ve been changed. Once you’ve played all the levels, you’re done; not even the daily/weekly challenges have different map which is fine considering Mini Metro did the same thing but I’m still a bit disappointed by this. The maps however look amazing. Minimalism done right! This has been a more mini review, pun intended, than usual because there’s not much more to say than: Mini Motorways is a great game with few flaws, so it rightfully deserves a 9/10.    … Full Review »
