    This game has been on my machine(s) since I first bought it in 1998 and I can't imaging 2-3 years going by without a replay. I HIGHLY recommend you getting the unofficial patch by Gray Face.     My first dungeon that I actually finished and until this day still a pinnacle of an RPG seen from your own eyes, controlling your full party. The world here was massive and incredibly immersive, I remember playing this entire summer holidays of 1998, I literally spent every single day of my 2 months holidays playing this behemoth. One of the best holidays of my life. 10/10

    I like this game. I like this game a lot. Even though it can very hard on your first couple of playthroughs, even though the role playing elements are minimal, even though it is 13 years old, even though might becomes pretty useless near the end of the game and magic is the only way to go. This game is just pure addiction. Always someone to visit, always a skill to increase, always someI like this game. I like this game a lot. This game is just pure addiction. Always someone to visit, always a skill to increase, always some monsters to kill, always a dungeon to clear and always some more fun to be had. I was pretty clueless about D'n'D games when I first played this and notwithstanding the fact that I was finding it extremely tough going I still wanted to play on. One dungeon alone took me 12 hours to complete. But I just had to carry on. The story is appealing, there are some very good spells, a wide variety of monsters (and plenty of them) and of course you always want to make your party more powerful - there are plenty of ways to do this. Throw in some wonderful music, some well hidden tricks and bonuses and the fact that you can play on after the end and go and slaughter all the things that gave you pain earlier in the game - all this makes for a great experience. I like trying to make games easier to beat, and am constantly looking for ways to do so. This game gave me that opportunity like no other. I must have finished it about 20 times and each time has given me ample satisfaction. Then after I've made the game quite easy to beat I look for ways to make it even harder than it was originally. Again, this game will allow you to do that (and not by just moving a slider) - play with 4 knights for example. Easily the best of the Might and Magic series and one that I still play even today.… Expand

    A rare 10. It up there with Baldur's Gate 2 as far as best PC RPG's ever.

    Pros: -Graphics (they're dated, but it reminds me of Doom, so I enjoy them) -Gameplay (you can do turn-based OR real-time) -Magic -Length -Party Creation Cons: -Trying to find specific people/locations -Late game is kind of silly (just hold down attack button and win) I discovered this rather    A rare 10.     It may take a while to understand the mechanics, but when you do, you're in for one hell of a game. Sure the graphics look dated and are ugly to some but there's so much to do and explore here. There's a very good turn based combat system, character creator and level up system. A must have for any RPG fan.

    This game is a classic and once you get the hang of it you'll be playing for hours. There is a lot to explore and much fun to be had however being that the game is dated there is not much in the way of role play or spectacular graphics.

    Во-первых, совершенно гайгэксианский мир. Колоды, которые убивают испивших персонажей стоят в городах меж домов, наверняка местное население это не смущает.     Во-первых, совершенно гайгэксианский мир. Колоды, которые убивают испивших персонажей стоят в городах меж домов, наверняка местное население это не смущает. Как и бочка, телепортирующая к толпе полуголых минотавров глубоко в подземелье, где они показывают кто тут настоящий Dungeon master.

    Подземелья, естественно, тоже отдают максимальной гайгэксианщиной. Невероятно большие, наполненные сотнями врагов в маленьких комнатках, перекрученные, с кучей неочевидных рычагов и других триггеров, которые могут открывать дверь на другом конце подземелья, к примеру. Спасибо хоть телепорт к выходу обычно имеется, чтоб не бежать по три минуты обратно.

    Система магии тоже специфичная (но это скорее проблема серии в целом). Некоторые школы магии, вроде земляной, вообще не имеет смысл качать, а другие, вроде тьмы и света, затмевают всё остальное. Не хватает заклинаний, которые бы делали исследование подземелий более приятным - обычно всё сводится к абузу маяка Ллойда. Вряд ли ваш клерик, если он у вас есть, будет в свободное от снятия негативных состояний время делать что-то кроме лечения.

    Наконец сам сюжет и задания. Опять же, серия никогда не отличалась оригинальностью на этот счёт, но я не раз слышал, как же хорош сюжет в шестой части. И как-то не прочувствовал. Выполни задания шести лордов, поговори с оракулом, помоги ему, спаси мир. Всё потому что враги сожгли родную хату. Нет, тексты, конечно, написаны неплохо и можно даже почувствовать особенности лордов, однако это больше к лору, а не к сюжету. И к лору вопросов нет. Записки, истории на стенах, разговоры с жителями тут лучше, чем в последующих частях серии, тут не отнять.

    К сожалению, можно разбить лоб при прохождении, если не использовать гайды или постоянно выписывать информацию. Зайдёшь в журнал заданий - так там не особо понятно кто и где дал задание и что нужно делать. От автозаметок пользы тоже немного. Записывайте сами где у вас там учителя и что они от вас хотят, не маленькие.

    Подводя итог: шестёрка одновременно впечатляет и разочаровывает. Сложность игры заключается в борьбе с миллионами врагов, хождениями туда-сюда по данжам, сохранением перед тем как тронуть любой предмет и попытками понять, что надо сделать или где ты в задании что-то забыл. Такое ощущение будто игра не хочет, чтоб ты в неё играл честно. А отсылки к Стар Треку ей важнее собственного сюжета.    … Expand

    Iconic RPG. If you are not scared of outdated graphics- just go for it!
    ps: also try GrayFace patch for it- it has a lot quality of life changes.
    pss: this is fresh patch, which indicates that 20+ year game is still alive!
