    Full price 60 dollar games with microtransactions which lock the ending behind a paywall are NOT okay! Don't buy this! These kind of practices have to stop!

    Could be good game but you destroyed it with Loot boxes and microtransactions. I boycott this practice (you know what way) with my friends. You won't see penny. Game itself is a bit repetetive, there is a lot of grind, the nemesis system is great, plot is better, some orcs are intersting and battles are in my opinion well made, but repetetive and the same for every castle. Would be 7/10-Could be good game but you destroyed it with Loot boxes and microtransactions. I boycott this practice (you know what way) with my friends. You won't see penny.     I will not support a company who puts microtransactions into any type of game, let alone tries to make gamers shell out additional money in order to experience the full SINGLE PLAYER campaign. When we pay the original asking price- that's it. Monolith Productions, I hope you go bankrupt.

    Microtransactions in an $60 single player game is like buying a nice car and then after driving it for 1 year, a message pops up on the dashboard saying you can only drive a maximum of 40 mph unless you purchase more "credits".

    Unacceptable filthy greed.

    Great game, pretty much the same as SoM just with a lot of extra stuff (Loot/gear, more orcs, larger map etc). There is also a lot more to do and you WILL have to do a lot more to simply earn in game currency to buy loot boxes. This is the downfall of the entire game IMHO. The publishers knew the first game was so good that they now want to milk the sequel for as much as possible. TheyGreat game, pretty much the same as SoM just with a lot of extra stuff (Loot/gear, more orcs, larger map etc).     Avoid if you have a "cant-help-myself" personality but a very low budget.

    Overall if the game didnt have MTA system I'd give it 8/10, with MTA I give it a 4    … Expand

    From an AC-alike game to a Lineage clone. Griiiinding, griiiinding, griiiinding! And then a little bit of grinding, again! Or... it is pay-to-win! Actual game ending is hiding on the other side of "loot-boxes-wall" wich requires either or dontaing hundreds of dollars to get legendary orcs (they are NOT availible via in-game drop, maximum that you can get are epics ones) - or dozens ofFrom an AC-alike game to a Lineage clone.     Glad this game got cracked day one even with the latest Denuvo. The devs and publisher deserve to be kicked in the family jewels until they pass out for this disaster of a lootcrate system.

    DO NOT BUY. Nothing but a long boring grind unless you pay real money for loot boxes to get ahead. pass. Loot boxes have no place in a $60 game. Loots boxes are nothing but greedy and predatory. They are gambling, and they take advantage of people that they know will get addicted to this.

    The micro-transactions in a single player game killed the game for me. To those interested do not get the game UNLESS you enjoy endless grinding to see the ending if you do not pay to skip through some of the boring content.

    Like everyone else is saying, microtransactions in in any game is pure cancer. Microtransactions and Lootcrates are not the overall problem though, everything is very copy and pasted and contrived. DO NOT SUPPORT COMPANIES THAT TREAT THEIR CONSUMERS LIKE SHEEP!

    BOYCOTT ALL COMPANIES THAT SHARE THE SAME PRACTICES!

    I'm sorry but the place of microtransactions is to add in extra optional advantages or aesthetic customization. In this game it appears they used forced grinding at obscene levels to encourage people to buy items just so they can beat the game in a fun way. Not a good business practice. Do not support.

    i can easily turn on trainers and cheats myself with all currency since its a god damn single player game. tested on multiplayer and it works.

    my initial review was a protest review because of the micro transactions, but I got my hands on a copy of the game and put in 20 hours. I did not and will not ever buy a game with micro transactions. I am very happy that I didn't buy this game because it's cheap, ugly, boring, and a tedious grind. I don't know what game the "journalists" played but this game is god awful. It is full of repetitive tasks to do all over the map, the combat attempts to be like Arkham Knight but is more like Assassins Creed Syndacate, but it doesn't have a good story like either of those games. This game feels like it was designed from the top down to encourage you to use the loot crates and purchase items with real money. This isn't even a game. It's gambling with real money for in game items disguised as a Lord or the Rings game. This is not a detail oriented or well designed game. It's some mechanics with 6 different types of tasks repeated and scattered across a cheap lazily designed open world. The graphics are not pretty to look at, the orcs look childish and stupid, not scary at all. The combat is not challenging and it's very repetitive. The main quests are not interesting at all. Pretty much a blur of hyperbole. The reason that people are liking this game is because it's addictive, because it was designed to be addictive from the ground up. It is in no objective way a good game. I would go as far to say that it's not really a video game. It's a gambling machine.… Expand

    Good game with super unfair loot crate system. If I pay FULL prize for game i expect being able to play (and complete the game) without spending more money unless I want some vanity items etc. This is not the case. Avoid.

    You would've thought Warner Bros. might have learned a lesson with their spectacularly bad Arkham Knight launch but no. We get a triple whammy of scumminess this year with    Are all Triple A Publishers driven by greed today or is it just me? Charging full price for a Fremium model game tells you all you need to know about how much Publishers know or even care about the gamers or industry.

    You would've thought Warner Bros. might have learned a lesson with their spectacularly bad Arkham Knight launch but no. We get a triple whammy of scumminess this year with them first trying to sell the memory of a dead developer as paid DLC. Then the Developers come out and tell everyone you may never even have to use the Lootboxes or buy using Microtransactions to enjoy the game and it's only there for people 'who don't have time to play the game'. And the icing on the cake is the Story being locked behind a paywall.

    I will never buy anything from WB again and just to think Battlefront 2 is out next month and thats supposed to be worse than this. God help us and God help gaming.

    Its a pity that in a single player game greed has come into the equation, speaking of course about the micro transactions which ruin the end of the game. People should vote with their wallets and let publishers know we don't want this sort of thing in games we pay good money for.

    A huge game that, despite of the quality of the fight and the delight of the Orb, offers paradoxically very small. It's not a failure, but we were expecting more. [Issue#279]

    Nemesis is a one-hit wonder of a mechanic. Everything else in Middle-earth is mediocre at best, but Nemesis makes it all worthwhile, since every playthrough is truly unique – a feature none of its triple-A competitors can offer. [Issue#225, p.38]

    A lot of people were upset to find out that Shadow of War has loot boxes, and they are kind of annoying. Unfortunately, loot boxes is the least of its problems.
