Metro Redux

Metro Redux is a remake that’s better than all the others. Since the fact that a lot of people missed the game last generation around, it wasn’t the craziest of ideas to bring the games back. Both games have an original setting that resonate well with the player’s experience. The extra stuff 4A Games has put into the games, change the overall experience in such a profound way you almost forget that it’s ‘just’ a remake. Both fans and newcomers can’t go wrong with this impressive collection.

The Moscow Metro opens its gates again, and the young Artyom embarks on a dangerous journey to preserve last remnants of the human race. Suppose you have killed off all the demons, and completed the almost educational path through the Moscow underground. Maybe. But certainly not in such a beautiful and technically seamless form that Redux version offers. Moreover, your first underground visit may not have been a complete one, because Metro is not the game series that makes you to look forward to seeing every new DLC. Or maybe you belong to the owners of new consoles, therefore the Metro Redux purchase is rather a must for you.

The Metro Redux edition is a compilation of two solid FPS games.

Metro Redux is more than just a polished version of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. The bone chilling and haunting game is improved in every way. Thanks to these changes, Redux is the best Metro game you could play at the moment.

I'm not a fan of a current trend to remake and remaster last generation games, but the things that have been done to (especially) Metro 2033 are really impressive. If you had fun playing original Metro games, Redux will deliver at least the same amount of satisfaction. If you're new to the Metro universe, now is the best time to check it out.

Great atmosphere and story as before, but visually it's a great step forward and recommended for new players.

Despite their seemingly miserable setting, both Metro games are in fact fun, diverse shooter-adventures, and the remastered 2033 does a good job of smoothing down the original's rougher edges at the expense of some of its brutal personality.

An impressive remake of Metro 2033 improves the overall look, the AI, and some of the major problems of the game, giving the player a great chance to replay a solid classic at its best. The work on the last chapter, Metro: Last Light, is not that impressive, but if you missed it one year ago you should give it a look.

Metro Redux may not offer much to entice players who have already played and enjoyed these games, but this remastered bundle is the best way for newcomers to experience the thrills and scares of this under-appreciated series.

A great example of a remasterization. Two great games better than ever, and a great opportunity to discover or rediscover them.

A new way to experience two of the greatest last generation FPS on the New Generation of consoles and PC. Great value.

A vastly improved Metro 2033 is more than enough to give a meaning to Metro Redux.

When all is said and done, this is an awesome collection and one that any gamer should check out. After playing through both of these all week long, it makes the wait for another installment just that little bit harder.

Metro Redux has a great remastered version of Metro 2033 and the most complete Metro Last Light pack. Improved mechanics and great visuals make for a solid pack of two old-school shooters.

A bit on the pricey side, Metro Redux is nevertheless a meaningful remake of Metro 2033 with the added value of its successor Last Light including all its – albeit mediocre – DLC. The graphics are simply spectacular, the atmosphere is great and the AI tends to be horrible, just like before.

Brings both Metro games to the year 2014 and their differing play styles together. Throw in a few bonuses and you've got a bargain, worth considering even for people who already own the individual games. [Issue#245]

If you have never gotten around to giving the Metro-series a chance, then this is a perfect package. Metro 2033 has aged considerably despite the numerous changes, but is a fine prologue to Last Light; a rancid, brutal game, teetering on the edge of depressing; a Russian cocktail consisting of one part The Last of Us and one part Fallout 3. If you have never played the games, then this is outstanding value for money for two great first-person shooters with an amazing setting, brilliant atmosphere, fantastic graphics and solid gun combat.

4A Games has done an excellent job refreshing the adventures of the survivors of the Moscow Metro. Despite all the marketing claims, the main reason to play the Redux versions of Metro 2033 and Last Light is the revised gameplay rather than the revamped graphics.

The better stealth mechanics, the improved load screens and interfaces, and new character models are just some of what make the Metro worth another run through.

An excellent tour through the best and worst of a society in ruins.

Metro Redux doesn’t provide enough new content to be worth repurchasing except for the most die-hard fans, but if you haven’t experienced the masterful adaptation of Glukhovsky’s series yet, fix that mistake and get Metro Redux on the double.

If you have never played any the Metro series, are looking to experience the stories again but with a lot of updates and some new content, or just need a post-apocalyptic fix , this might be the perfect opportunity for you. While the updates did not fix some of the little issues I had with the games, the performance and visual boost go a long way to help minimize them.
