    What happened to Metro....
    First of all they released on the Epic Launcher which has VERY SHADY PRIVACY POLICIES.
    To top it all off, the Developer stated "If you don't like it, we wont make PC games anymore"
    Jeez... 1/10.

    So disappointed with this game as it hasn't really moved on from the previous 2. The game has so many bugs/glitches and combat is way too easy to kill humans and pointless to kill mutants/monsters etc. The open world offers nothing new and the side missions are just pointless. I really wanted to like this game as I heard it could be FPS of the year! Really...... that just says to me thatSo disappointed with this game as it hasn't really moved on from the previous 2.     The graphics are...OK... when they work.
    This game freezes quite often...sometimes the screen freezes... sometimes the sound stops....sometimes both. Unacceptable.
    Also...you aim at enemies and then shoot and you may produce no damage, even with head shots. With RTX you do not get any better quality of anything. Your shadow is artificial and simple. In older games like The Division 1    The graphics are...OK... when they work.

    Game is okay and enjoying the story so far but so many issues with the EPIC launcher and crashing. I think this will be my last Epic Games purchased title.

    I was disappointed with this game. It is even worse than the previous parts.
    Disgusting animation.
    Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere.
    Copy-paste levels.
    Stupid plot, idiot characters.
    But the magnificent work of three-dimensional artists.

    This game has a good story it seems and mechanics but the optimization for this game is so pisspoor its laughable. i cant even get a consistent 60 fps on a high end PC. Crashes are a big issue as well with it crashing in the caspian area every 5 minutes. its been a whole year and they havent fixed anything for shame!

    More than TWO YEARS on and this game is still so bug ridden that for me it's now functionally unplayable. The game has currently auto-saved my progress between an invisible wall and a QTE that refuses to trigger because the NPC required for is stuck on a ledge above and refuses to drop down. The only available option is to restart the chapter (losing hours of progress) but doing so LOSESMore than TWO YEARS on and this game is still so bug ridden that for me it's now functionally unplayable.     Other than some of the early RE ports, this has to be one of the worst console ports I've ever played. Not even referring to Epic's involvement, it's just a BAD port. Not worth it even on heavy discount - stay far away if you value your money at all.

    I had big hype for this game. It actually is quite beautiful and I can see all the hours that were put into making it. However all of this hard work and dedication is overshadowed by the terrible launcher I have to use. The Epic store client keeps crashing so I can't play. Wouldn't have had that problem on steam now would I?

    A downgrade in every conceivable way from the previous games. Not to mention it’s been optimized by amateur programmers. 1 year after release and it’s still filled with bugs and abysmal performance. Hard pass.

    You have to own certain software before you can buy this software. Proprietary garbage. I still downloaded the software and gave away my information to yet another online entity, and the game is average at best. Now I get a lot more fake calls on my cell phone and junk in my email.

    The Epic store is terrible software. It's about what you would get if you had a bunch of monkeys typing random stuff into computers for a month and then hit compile. It has hardly any functionality at all, it looks like space trash, it has a metric ton of security issues and Epic are breaking European consumer laws with their email spam and shadow accounts.

    It's like they wanted to get the fan market of other genres like open world, crafting, zombies and threw it all in the game but didn't do any of it right. The zombie models are the most uninspired, pathetic character models I've ever seen in an AAA title. Picking up a random brick that isn't around and hucking it? Is this SNES? The lame ass moving from shed to shed through the open world has been done so much better by other titles and in this game kind of left you asking why they even attempted the open world in the first place, cause you're constantly being tunneled. That same stupid thing they had going on in the last one where if you fell in water you'd either come back up or get killed by a monster is done so poorly here too it's maddening. It's often ambiguous as to whether or not you're jumping onto land or water. The crafting is so **** they should have just stuck to weapon modifications and avoided the tediousness of picking everything up when what you can actually do with it is quite limited.

    Then there's the performance issues. The game looks good, but it hitches like **** crazy. It's not even low FPS, it just staggers and stutters all over the place making gunplay infuriating whereas in the previous entries it was fun. The AI is **** retarded, what they do makes no sense. But because the movement system is so bad and **** up from the hitching and general **** animations it's hugely difficult to kill them. And I'm an avid FPSer.

    The save system overwrites quick-saves with auto saves. Did you hear that? So you quick-save in a safe place and then the game overwrites that with an autosave wherein you're getting killed. So then you have to reload the whole level.

    Several times within the first minutes of playing bodies were getting stuck in walls/objects and bouncing around. You can't cancel animations or cutscenes. So if you pick something up and the game goes into cutscene sequence of you looking at it but you're being attacked, you're **** You can't get out of it.

    The game is a **** wreck. I think a lot of the positive reviews are fake, Deep Silver knew they would never survive legitimate Steam reviews but they can make it less clear here by pumping in fake reviews on metacritic.

    You **** up an amazing game, bros. Never been so disappointed in a title. Glad I got it on sale.    … Expand

    Simply crashed after the intro. No idea how to fix it initially. Trial and error showed me it did not like my high end NVIDIA card and I had to switch to my laptops integrated graphics card. The result was playing the game on settings I have not used for years.

    The game looks fine but the animations makes me flashback to the freaking 2000 year with the games like Project IGI. Voice overs are terrible as well.

    Aaaand its not like AAA title after all. B+ maybe? I don't know. Just meh.

    Terrible buggy game. It's the usual very bad console port. This type of fallout game has been done to death, nothing new here. When it doesn't crash you can't get into the game as it keeps snatching control from you to show cut scenes.

    Fantastic hype, rubbish PC game.

    this game is a piece of trash. what kind of moron devs puts only one save? it autosaved as i was dying, now I'll have to restart the whole level, losing 6 hours of progress in order to continue playing this malware. thankfully i have better things to do and so should you.

    A joke of a game compared to the previous ones. Semi-open world takes you by the hand whenever it wants to force you down a path. Unoptimized and runs very badly. Go back and replay Metro Last Light and you will have more fun.

    Exodus takes about the same amount of time to playthrough as 2033 and LL, but most of that in Exodus is bloated content you're forced through of conversations and handholding, yet there is a tiny fraction of action and combat to be had in Exodus. A Exodus playthrough will take hours (about 4 hours just carving through it), and in that time the number of significant fights you had can be counted on two hands and most of them will be a 1-2 minutes of combat.
    Also Exodus is a terrible PC port with broken and unplayable aspects.
    As of writing this the game has been out for over a month and none of these game-breaking issues and console aspects from a bad port have been fixed.

    BROKEN FOV: There is no FOV option, and the default is very small and nauseating. In the previous games in the series this was okay as you could go into game files and edit them for a larger FOV. However in Exodus there are many screen effects that do not adjust with the new custom FOV. Everytime you are wounded in a fight you will have a red box in the middle, and also across the middle of the screen have a large ugly giant red blob line across the screen (which normally is supposed to be at the top of the screen).

    BROKEN CUSTOM CONTROLS: Firstly if you use custom controls, especially if you're a numpad user, then you're in big trouble as the controls for interacting with workbenches and radios and the like won't change to your custom keys. Instead the defaults will be written for controls; F, D, A etc, and pressing those defaults won't work.
    This means that everytime time you need to use a workbench of radio you need to go back into your key mappings, remap to the default, interact with the radio and workbench, and then go back into options and remap to your custom keys and carry on playing the game. With having to regularly use workbenches to clean your weapons this is not fun.
    INTERACTION CIRCLES: Firstly the game is plagued with ugly console interaction circles. But these are particularly bad in how they've been applied to looting bodies. In the Metro series you're constantly picking up ammo (or in Exodus parts to craft ammo) - as you progress through a firefight you'll quickly loot from the body of a killed opponnent. In the previous games in the sequel you tapped you use key twice to loot the body and their weapon.
    For some reason the devs decided that it would be a good idea to make it so that you must aim at the enemy weapon and hold reload to remove the ammo and modifications from the enemy weapon, and also use the interact key to loot the body and reload key to loot from the weapon. This now means that instead of sliding through a seamless firefight naturally looting bodies, instead you now must use the interact key to loot the body (careful not to accidentally look to the side at the weapon where you're then pressing the wrong key), stop in the middle of the fight, look at the weapon on the floor, hold reload and wait for an interaction circle to loot the ammo.
    Enjoy doing this thousands of times.

    I've played Metro 2033 and Metro Last Light countless times. Around 100 times each. They are 'linear' games, but much of the gameplay in each level can be played many times over as the fights are always exciting and challenging.
    In Metro Exodus - the open world game (though most of the game isn't in open world environments) - the entirety of the game can be broken down to a handful of minor easy gunfights and battles with mutants.
    Firstly there are only 3 'open world' areas, and one of them is very incredibly linear where you're stripped of your equipment and forced down a boring path that isn't fun the first time, let alone replaying it. The other two open world areas are cool, but they're relatively small and can run across them in a few minutes, and I can count on one hand the number of areas of these maps where there are groups of a few enemies you wipe out in a matter of seconds.
    The rest of the game is linear levels which are frankly complete trash and unworthy of the series.
    Again, I have played 2033 and countless times and I love going through those levels again and again everytime... Meanwhile you couldn't pay me to replay the corridor sections that make up half of Exodus.
    The beginning chapter of the game is scripted and very linear and repetitive. It's just crap.
    Another one is a ridiculous level spamming gunfire at harmless mindless cannibal enemies I've run out of characters but bad content, bugs, bad port, terrible replayability, hollow, hardly any combat    … Expand

    Worst game ever! Stupid and annoying cut scenes (that can not be skipped), stupid story and boring gameplay. Feels more like a cheap indie game made by a couple of students than an AA full price game. I am quite happy that it is included in xbox game pass for pc. So at least I did not loose any money on this trash.

    This game very slow and boring. I absolutely hate the character of anna, she adds nothing except a way to make the game about a female instead of artyom. You could remove her from the game and the score will rise by 4 points. But overall its just slow and not good enough for 2020.

    The 3rd installment is the by far the worst. Got away from what made them a great company and also got away from what made the previous games great. Choose your publisher wisely. The Metro series entered into my life with a bang and goes out with a whimper. Behind CD Projekt red these guys were my favorite development team. Sad way to end it.

    Huge failure and disappointment. I love Metro series and played all - I even played more than a few times on a certain series. Was excited to play this Exodus but ended up just a big disappointment. Bad game play, graphics, shooting etc. This is the end of being Metro fan for sure.

    The game is too scary for me to play, it would be okay if it would be the case from the beginning, but first 3 hours were quite good, and now I need to sail the super slow boat into dark places with no ammo surrounded by some scary stuff. I haven't played previous metro games and I bought this one to try rtx, I'm disappointed, what a waste of money.

    It's a blatant console port. The graphic options are bare bones. To scroll through them you hover your mouse at the top or bottom of the screen. They're not on steam because if they were, they'd be destroyed by the reviews.

Such a terrible situation as with this Metro I have not seen for a long time. The picture on my settings is not better than I had in Metro Redux, but at the same time in previous versions I had a1) Terrible optimization. Games on my hardware (i5 6600 + gtx 950) are capable of producing an excellent (not bad, at least) picture in 60 fps, recall the same Witcher 3 or at least Wildlands. Such a terrible situation as with this Metro I have not seen for a long time. The picture on my settings is not better than I had in Metro Redux, but at the same time in previous versions I had a stable 60 + fps, here I has 50 with drawdowns below 30 and frametime jumps.
    2) There is also a huge amount of physics bugs. Some objects do not have a physical model (although it would be better for them to have it), some of them are generally floating in the air. Also, a large number of objects have a texture on one side only, but on another side they are transparent. And, of course, if you’re just running through the game (it seems that this is exactly what the developers were counting on by releasing the game), then you may be will not notice it, but it is worthwhile to at least linger on the level and all the problems will pop up at the moment.
    3) Tightened skirmishes. Monsters spawns endlessly, why we have no chance to kill them all? You force us to just run through the levels (read the second part…), For it is often simply impossible to kill all the monsters, or it takes too many resources.
    4) Tightened missions, which in the end cause only a desire to quickly move on to the next mission.
    5) The system of customization and modification of weapons can be compared with Wildlands - it seems like there are a lot of modifications, but actually it’s impossible to do something truly unique. In fact, all you need is a rifle with a silencer.
    6) Separately, I will say that the game has no problems with zoom. I mean if the sight has an approximation of "X6", then it really approximates 6 times, and not like in some games - only two or even less.
    7) The plot is pretty good. In fact, this is the only thing that makes me play this game. Without it I would delete after the first hour of the game. Really, gameplay is just disgusting.
    I would like to add that critics who rate this game 8 and above do not have the right to be called critics. The word itself contains the verb "to criticize" - what they do not do. At a minimum, due to such technical problems, it should not receive ratings higher than 7.

    another typical pseudo-Russian game, not worth the hype made by money-makers. series keep rolling down since original Metro, looks like Gluhovsky lost the rest of his wits long time ago. average gameplay, **** sound, mute character. atmosphere-wise it is a ****-hole fantasy of a sick person. if to take Stalker SoC as a benchmark of 100, Metro is 0,7 at the best

Boring, they change things that shouldn't be changed, too much hand handling, and just tried to hard on some thing making game unfun for me, forcing something is not gonna make it more fun, so if you are not fan of series this is a big no for you, 1/10 and some fans will I guess enjoy it due to last 2 games but man what a disappointment....

Сказать что я разочарован - ничего не сказать. Нет, я не из тех пекавоенов, которые ополчились на Deep Silver из-за отмены продаж в Стиме - мне всё равно в каком магазине они её продают, болееОчень люблю серию Metro, полюбил её ещё с книги "Метро 2033", прошёл все игры, выходившие по ней ранее, читал даже некоторые книги из "Вселенной Метро". И с E3-2018 ждал с нетерпением новой игры. Сказать что я разочарован - ничего не сказать. Нет, я не из тех пекавоенов, которые ополчились на Deep Silver из-за отмены продаж в Стиме - мне всё равно в каком магазине они её продают, более того - я взял игру по предзаказу и всё равно её получил в свою библиотеку. Тут дело в реально наплевательском отношении разработчиков к своей работе. А именно - наих*ёвейшая оптимизация за всю историю игростроя. Даже Ubisoft так не лажали. Машина у меня вполне мощная - более чем соответствует минимальным требованиям: процессор Core I7-4770, видеокарта GTX-1050ti с 4 гигами, операивной памяти гигов 16. Тот же новенький Resident Evil 2 Remake тянул на высоких настройках без тормозов.

    А что тут? А тут мы видим вылеты ещё на вступительном ролике! Если у вас каким-то чудом не вылетела игра здесь - то она точно вылетит потом - на чёрном экране после этого же ролика! А при попытке запустить игру после этого - вам предложат запустить в сейф-моде. И что же выходит потом? Лютейшее мыло, в котором ничего нельзя разглядеть! Даже перенастройка графике не поможет. И если вы один раз запустили игру в сейф-моде - поздравляю! Теперь вы его уже никак не отключите, даже переустановка не поможет! В-общем нервом и времени я потратил достаточно, теперь give me back my money, a*holes, и к новым играм про Метро уже точно никогда не прикоснусь. Поверить только - 3000 рублей - и одни разочарования.    … Expand

Можно было бы игре поставить оценку выше (бала 3-4), за счет красивых картинок, но ннет, издатель наплевательски отнесся к PC пользователям из-за жадности, а коль так, то игра не достойна внимания...… Expand

    I'm afraid I'll have to give a 0 rating to this game. It shouldn't have been launched in this state.

    The Epic launcher crashed constanty while downloading the game and I had to reinstall both the launcher and game several times before finally getting them to run. Once inside the game it kept crashing after 4-5 minutes with some weird errors in either the launcher's executable or the    I'm afraid I'll have to give a 0 rating to this game. It shouldn't have been launched in this state.

    At this point I'm done trying to troubleshoot this Epic failure of a game and launcher and I'm trying to request a refund.

    Getting the Epic Fail Store to give me the refund proves to be an adventure in itself. Their reps keep delaying with bull*hit copy/paste PR replies (about being impossible to get a refund so soon or even asking me to call the publisher...)

    From what I've been able to play so far the game looks average: looks like a un-optimized console port with quirky controlls, weird graphic glitches, random low res and low fps issues on a bloody RTX 2080 TI, and so on. This game really needs additional testing and shouldn't have been released in this state.

    I didn't want to be like those people who complain about the exclusivity thing but I never encountered such issues with the older Metro games I bought on Steam.

    I might buy it again but this time next year from Steam or GoG, once all the bugs are fixed and that crappy Denuvo thing is removed, assuming my I would still be interested in this game, but more likely I'll just watch a play-through on YouTube and be done with it.

    I really enjoyed the older games but this one left a sour taste...    … Expand

I know it's supposed to show off RTX series cards, but making a $1000+ card mandatory for decent gameplay is just retarded.

    Uninspired improvements over the last Metro titles, the environment models at many instances feel hastily put together, it feels like the game was rushed. The game is also very very dark at many instances, it's supposedly done to showcase the RTX ray tracing, but if you don't have an RTX you can't see anything.

    Gameplay:
    Very, very buggy AI. NPCs generally don't tend to react to each other, NPCs getting stuck, NPCs doing nothing etc etc.

    There are too many flaws at this stage to describe, the game feels rushed, unfinished and incomplete. Not worth the money.    … Expand

    0/10, literally unplayable even though I've got more than enough specs for minimum 1080 30 fps gameplay. Soapy and ugly graphics, unstable fps with lagspikes. Easy refund

    Игра говнище просто. Мыло, баги, тупой ИИ, квесту так нахваливали, а по факту унылые. ДУмал после стима уже хуже не будет, вы переплюнули себя. Так скатиться. Игра не советуется к покупке. Ждите в бухтах

    I wish I could say something positive about this game. After Fallout76...yet another post apocalyptic mess, this time in Russia. One should not take choice from your customers, nor threaten them. There are so many other great games to play right now, skip this one.

По всей игре размазана русофобская канва! Персонажи прописаны ужасно! Анимация ещё хуже, чем в mass effect andromeda. Атмосферы старых частей – нет! Артём полностью немой как Гордон Фримен ))) Постоянные вылеты наУжасная оптимизация. ИИ уровня школьников, защищающих свой фортнайт лаунчер, который тыкается в стенки и не видит Артёма, сидящего в полуметре перед лицом врага. Ужасная озвучка. Давно ли вы слышали залипающий звук?     Game crashed several times and when it finally worked I ran into multiple hang ups and bugs. This was my first introduction to the Metro series and I have to say I am very disappointed. I have already requested and received a refund so at least that aspect works.

    Ужасная оптимизация, баги, вылеты, фризы, непонятное мыло, пропадание кадров. Сюжет не оправдывается полное отсутствие драмы и интереса. Крайне не рекомендую эту бету. Ждиать фиксы и стим.

    Metro has always been a very niche game series with poor storytelling, broken stealth and unsatisfying shooting mechanics, which are offset by original setting. The same is true for Exodus, although it also adds "pointless open world" to the pile. [Issue#236, p.28]
