In a way, Megamagic: Wizards of the Neon Age is like a Saturday morning cartoon. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s charming and special nonetheless.

Megamagic presents itself as a long game with a combat system based on RPG mechanics that will be a challenge for every player. Unfortunately, its great script and gameplay are negatively affected by the irregular development of the plot and a poor character progression.

Megamagic is original, fresh and addictive, but you need to come with an open mind and be willing to play something that is different.

An enjoyable RPG experience that may entertain those who were born on the 80's but feels a bit shallow for those who weren't.

Cute, but certainly not flawless attempt to combine action and strategy elements with aesthetics of stupid cartoons from the 80s. [Issue#265]

Overall, it is difficult to say who this game is intended for. Perhaps partly to those suffering from inescapable spells of ’80s nostalgia and whose best memories of that era consist of bad dialogue and ill-explained plots? Perhaps the local co-op option will make the game more enjoyable in the long run. For the lone player, the few redeeming qualities include the music and visuals.

WASD garbage with no controller support and no keyboard remapping. Technically worthless.
