-
Easy to pick up, fun to play, and highly addictive anyway you cut, slice and dice it.
-
Looks great, tactics work, easy interface and camera, and the ability to easily customize your Mech load-out all add up to a solid game.
-
An excellent and enjoyable tactical combat game for those who don't enjoy base building or resource gathering.
-
Universally better than the original game while adding enough stuff to keep it from being just an interface upgrade.
-
Anyone who has an interest in Military strategy with a whole lot of sci-fi thrown in should definitely go buy a copy of MechCommander 2, youll get your money's worth from the amount of playing time youll invest.
-
A polished product that improves, in almost every respect, on its predecessor.
-
A very solid game. What it isn't is a very innovative game. It does everything it has to and does it well, but it doesn't do anything new.
-
The game is buggy as all hell... (but) I had a blast playing it and it's one of the few games I've played recently that I genuinely want to go back and finish.
-
The graphics may be a bit lacking, and it may run a bit slow (I'd really hate to imagine a machine near the system reqs), but it's a blast.
-
Handsome and smoothly executed.
-
Its graphics, sound, and interface are excellent, but sadly deficiencies still exist in its artificial intelligence and its linear gameplay which is devoid of a skirmish mode or of a precise system of attack control.
-
A fun game that has no serious flaws except for horrendously long loading times.
-
Next Generation MagazineThe eye-catching graphics, solid sound effects, easy interface, and some nice multiplayer options more than make up for missing skirmishes. [Nov 2002, p.113]
-
Those simply looking for a visually impressive, enjoyable real-time strategy game set in the BattleTech universe should find that MC 2 fits that description well.
-
While some details such as heat management and precise targeting have been glossed over a mite heavily for BattleTech fans' tastes, overall Mech Commander 2 bestows a new lease on life upon the esteemed franchise.
-
A technically polished title which made amends for all of the flaws the original game had, yet which is still far from appealing or capable of holding gamers' attention, and I'm speaking even of the hard-core BattleTech fans.
-
It may seem like a minor gripe, but I still would have liked to see a skirmish mode.
-
Good, and worth the time of BattleTech fans, but unless Microsoft fixes the performance issues it will never be a great game.
