Best SF shooting RPG ever. I don't know why there are so many heteroromantic female characters.

Ідеальний сіквел, який підняв планку усього в грі, а особливо боїв, тепер відчувається кожен постріл, комфортно застосовувати здібності підконтрольних тобі персонажів.

This is a must play. The best of the series.

The story is amazing, incredibly well told and the game-play just complements it brilliantly. Interesting side characters, sex, character development with relevant decision making, sex, a truly menacing threat, great side missions. This game has everything an RPG should have. This is not a game for loot whores though, Having said

One of the best games in entire industry that I hope won't be forgotten.
There won't be any spoilers and I'm going to tell you something that I told my friends:
-"I want you to experience the whole game yourself. To feel it's characters, the story, gameplay, moral dillemas and the magnitude of the soundtrack for yourself." First of all I wanna say that I finished that game almost a three

First of all I wanna say that I finished that game almost a three month ago so there wasn't any nostalgia feelings. There was just pure enjoyment.
I think that this game is an example of what game industry should be.

The only problem is DLC and stuff.EA at their worst as always.
    9/10 without question or hesitation.

amazing sequel. though carries the lack of children as well as the lack of females of most alien species that also were missing in the first game. also lacked planetary exploration on the mako. had it had those, I would have given it a 10.

Mass effect 2 is the best game in the mass effect trilogy. Improved combat, more awesome squadmates and more difficult choices for Shepard. If you loved the first game no doubt you will love this one as well.

Mass Effect was a strong, yet ultimately flawed start to Bioware's next big franchise. It introduced players to it's new characters and universe, leaving fans salivating for its much anticipated sequel. Upon its release, ME2 received widespread critical and commercial success, and for damn good reason. ME2 is a much leaner, more refined experience compared to its predecessor (but not without its own issues). It's storytelling was going into darker territory, there's a whole new cast of characters in addition to old faces and the combat received a significant overhaul. In pretty much every respect, I consider ME2 the pinnacle of the series.

The game takes place a couple of years after ME1. After an unexpected encounter with a new threat, Shepard finds himself working with the morally questionable Cerberus, led by the aptly named Illusive Man. He provides Shepard with a new ship, resources and dossiers on people best suited to help them launch a suicide mission against a race of beings known as the collectors. Much like the first game, the general storytelling, while solid in its own right (though with moments that feel contrived), takes a huge backseat to the individual characters and your relationships with them. The new characters you recruit are some of the very best in the series. There was not a single one that I did not root for or wanted to learn more about, especially when they are given their own individual loyalty missions to further flesh them out. The presentation also received a massive overhaul. General graphical fidelity and has certainly increased, but it's the art design, lighting and cinematography that really sells the experience. The bold colors and dark shadows perfectly add to the darker atmosphere that the game creates, and character interactions are far more dynamic and interesting. Despite the darker tone, the game manages to be surprisingly funny at points as well. The fantastic music and voice acting further sells the experience. Bioware was finally able to develop and refine their own style with ME2.

Combat is another huge improvement. They were able to refine the shooting mechanics and even make a few improvements to character and enemy AI compared to the first game. The game is structured a lot more linear this time around, feeling more like level-to-level progression. The game streamlines a lot, from the exploration to the level up system, and in some respects I do feel that's a step back from ME1. It feels far less like an RPG and more like a traditional 3rd-Person shooter with RPG elements. That being said, ME2's refinements to gameplay more than make up for that shortcoming. The game also introduces resource collecting, where you would travel to different planets on the galaxy map and launch probes at select spots to collect resources for upgrades that are needed to improve you and your party, but also ones that are vital to your mission. On a fresh playthrough, this is easily the most tedious, boring part of the game. If you want to get the best outcome, however, you're gonna have to do some farming. If you are doing an imported playthrough or have multiple save files on hand, you'll have enough resources from the get-go for this not to be an issue.

ME2 continues ME1's emphasis on choices. You can import your save data from that game into ME2, which not only provide subtle and big changes to game world, but you'll also get additional bonuses in resources and credits to make your job a bit easier. The game also retains the traditional paragon/renegade system, but this time adds an interrupt system to spice up your choices, some with significance and others just for humor. The decisions you make in this game feel like they have a lot more weight this time around, and have some of the most dire consequences for the series.

If you have more of an affinity for ME1's more traditional RPG elements, you may be disappointed with how more stripped down it can feel. If you can look past that, however, you'll find a more interesting world, plenty of memorable characters and refined combat to keep you invested in. Not only do I think this is the best game in the series, but ME2 is one of my all time favorite game period.

Kendi ekibini oluşturup yönetme, taktik ve strateji kurma, ekibinle olan bağını güçlendirme oyunlarının en iyilerinden. Combat biraz daha keyifli olsa hakikaten 10/10 oyun olacakmış.

Fantastic game. This is the action packed chapter of the trilogy, however it is not only that. The relationships are deepened, there are loyalty missions that give you a deeper understanding of the characters and what they went through. The conversations are more eye opening and frequent (aka more dialogue to unlock). The cinematography is just fantastic, even the "less appropriate" shots, if you are actually paying attention, are luring immersing us into the game wanting us to please and help the character even if the motives might not be as "paragon like", but personally from my playthroughs, leaves the imagination flow on your character build. The combat is quite the stop up from the first chapter. We start with a great opening (even though I would have worked in some more credible "excuses") and a fantastic final battle, where BioWare fulfills the promise of "your choices matter". However, the mechanics do change, like shooting with R1 instead of R2 stuff, and makes it confusing (even after release, just because the review is dated 2021 doesn't mean I haven't played it before now), since R2 tends to be the designated trigger command. The story doesn't have much juice, BUT I do view the trilogy as a whole, so I do view this as more of a get to know these characters more and there is more build up to the whole of the story, however it does fall on that front. it seems like what happened in the first game takes a back seat, it adds on for sure, but sort of takes away from what we lived with the characters before then just cause it is a "new chapter" and you are presented with a whole new crew which gives it that introductory feel that the first games in a trilogy usually does. HOWEVER I can forgive it cause... well... the beginning of the game sort of gives you a knew beginning wink wink... The final mission is mind blowing, YOUR DECISIONS MATTER, even though the final boss fight, if you are not on hardcore mode, may not seem hard. This is a great game for those who like action movies for sure; it is highly enjoyable, a game you will be wanting to play over and over to get a favourable outcome and will blow your mind. However make sure to get the DLC as well! You must! A great second chapter. Expand

Worthy continuation of the series. I'm glad they removed the vehicle because it was annoying in ME1, but I liked the planetary exploration so the new probe thing didn't worked for me that well.

A fabulous sequel, the amount of epicness exceeds the number one, the characters are well-sketched, so I had no problem remembering them and I never confused them. All in all, this is one of the better games that puts out the myth that sequels are always definitely worse than the first installment, because I dare say that this game comes out a lot better than ME1.

Improves every single aspect from its predecessor.

The story is super well written. The decisions and different ways you approach the missions makes you be part of this story. There are a lot more companions, that means lot more of side quests, every of them super well designed so are really enjoyable. The combat improved a lot. Is more tactical, more difficult. You can be killed

The combat improved a lot. Is more tactical, more difficult. You can be killed easily so you need to plan and use companions wisely.

The scenarios also improved a lot, all of them being unique.
Planet exploration was almost removed and that's good because was boring and not well implemented.
Item and skills management was simplified so you don't need to lose a lot of time on managing inventory, weapons and so on.

    My only complains:
    - The part of the Citadelle that you can visit now is so small.
    - The sprint time is still laughable.
    - Still many dialog selections trigger the same result. And so many times the selection doesn't fit the expected dialog.
    - Minerals gathering through probes is boring.

Mass Effect 2 resumes with pride the path opened by the first game. This sequel is a lesson of how things should be made.
  2. Mass Effect 2 delivers a story that's deeper than what many novelists are capable of, and its action is better than what most Hollywood directors are creating nowadays. It's an addictive, engrossing experience that many gamers will replay over and over while they hold their breath waiting for the third game.
  3. A brilliant mix of shooter and role-playing, filled with great characters, excellent design, lots of action and clever dialogue. It's a shame though that Bioware did not improve the inventory and skill system of the first game, but actually reduced it even more. I really wished there were more customization options, more ways to develop and gear up my characters. But all these are merely small points of criticism, since there is so much to feel and experience in this game. Mass Effect 2 is a thrilling, emotional ride and ultimately every bit as good as its predecessor.
