I'm not huge fan of action RPG, but this one is definetly masterpiece. Awesome story, great combat, nice romances, various and interesting crew members (with unique personal quests), many decisions that will affect the outcome of the game directly. And let's not forget scars! Scars are brilliant idea, whoever come out with this idea is genius.

Mass Effect 2 is the second installment (duh!) of the legendary Mass Effect sci-fi action RPG game series, released in 2010. Generally it is considered the best of the Mass Effect games and for good reasons. This game is another great example of how to make a sequel to a already successful game. Generally it is considered the best of the Mass Effect games and for good reasons. This game is another great example of how to make a sequel to a already successful game. The developers kept what was good about the original Mass Effect, namely the atmosphere, the emphasis on the crew, improved what needed improving, like the depth of some of the characters, more interactions onboard the Normandy and completely left out the boring Mako missions. On top of that, BioWare took some risks and basically constructed the story around a single mission. So the first two thirds of the game you just go around the galaxy and gather your new crew. It is a bold move, but it absolutely paid off. Creating strong characters always was something that BioWare did very well. With all the DLCs installed there is twelve companions in total, all of which have a distinct personalities and backgrounds. My personal favorites are: Miranda (obviously), Samara/Morinth (the least predictable moment in gaming history), Mordus (salarian autistic genius able to rationalize anything) and Jack (really messed up). The number of important choices you can do is also greater than in the original game. You can easily lose a companion through a dialogue. The graphics is also greatly improved. There are more romance options (and more interesting options, I might add). Monetary balance is great. Just about everything is better than it was in the Mass Effect. There are no obvious negatives on this game. The probe system is very slow and boring, but you actually only need about 20% of all the available material to upgrade everything you can upgrade. Still pretty slow and boring. Mild microtransactions (overpriced DLCs) and no SJW politics.

Major DLCs: Arrival - interesting, yet short DLC with serious consequences for the entire galaxy. Overlord - a slightly longer DLC about a rogue VI with (again) pretty grim choice at the end. Lair of the Shadow Broker - storywise, this is the most important DLC, should have been part of basic game.

Fantastic sequel, one of the best and most enjoyable BioWare games, hell one of the best games period. Final Verdict: 95%

This game is my personal favorite from the trilogy. At first I wasn't really invested in the story, but after meeting a couple new characters and learning more about this universe I must say I had the time of my life playing this. It has everything I loved from the previous game and adds a lot of new things.

A terrific exploration in my book. Mass Effect 2 manages to expand the deeper world that the first game already serves. This entry focused on a journey, where you'd assembly a high skilled team scattered around the galaxy. Each individual has an interesting story that makes you value them for their vital role in upcoming battles. Gameplay:

This entry focused on a journey, where you'd assembly a high skilled team scattered around the galaxy. Each individual has an interesting story that makes you value them for their vital role in upcoming battles.

    Gameplay:
Improved foundation of combats from the first game but still doesn't separated them very far. I liked how they compressed the upgrading system which is overwhelming on the first one, they make them straight to the point which turn them easier to use here. Character Actions and Decisions choices were always straightforward, which makes your intention very easy to spot either it was good or bad.

    Graphics:
Visual that doesn't look like it came out from 2010. The details were night & day compared to its predecessor. However, there are noticeable size decreased of levels, which make the free roam very shorter than the first one. There are also some few glitches where you get stuck in the air if somehow you walked in a wrong place which kinda ruin some immersion in some part.

    Story:
The main narrative was straight to the point and can be easily explained briefly. It was like the first Avenger movie where you're Captain America and trying to recruit each hero for a great cause. However, that was not what make Mass Effect great. It was their storytelling and how they portray a non-existent world to be comfortably real at is it.

    Overview:
It was an experience to remember. There is a lot of great comedic timing that makes me laugh off guard, A lot of moment that makes you cared, A bunch of choices that make you think "what if?", and a suspense grand finale that only Bioware knows how to drop.

However, with Mass Effect 2, BioWare had partnered up with EA, therefore increasing their budget for Mass Effect 2 exponentially. The writing is still solid as ever, and every major problem with Mass Effect 1 was fixed and drastically improved with Mass Effect 2, especially the dialogue, combat, and difficulty spikes. Where in Mass Effect 1, it feels as if conversation are too forced or stale, nearly every conversation in the sequel feels natural and well done. Where in Mass Effect 1, the combat was ridiculously broken in many different ways, the sequel's combat both diversifies itself far more and expands upon previous foundations. The one complaint is the introduction of thermal clips, but since this introduction also means you can no longer pick and pop out of cover like you'd do in Mass Effect 1, I eventually welcomed the change. Where in Mass Effect 1, the only way you'd challenge yourself is on Insanity, which you have to unlock by beating the campaign at least once, the sequel is far more challenging thanks to a weaker shields system, more enemies, more enemy variety, and several different strengths and weaknesses to every part of the combat which can be exploited by both you and the AI, who are significantly smarter in the sequel than they were in Mass Effect 1. Where Mass Effect 1 is begging for a remaster in it's current 13 year old state, Mass Effect 2's art and graphics still look so good, you could make the case that it doesn't need a remaster and won't need one for another 10 years. Well done, BioWare. Well done. This is your masterpiece as a game developer. Take pride in that, because that's good company to be in, what not with KOTOR, Dragon Age, and Baldur's Gate also being developed by BioWare. Expand

The first part left mixed feelings: I could not say that this was a masterpiece, but I could not call the game garbage. But... When I played a little in the second part, I realized that there were a lot of improvements in it: a tasty battle system, the absence of any improvement in weapons made the game more for talent than for numbers. The plot, in general terms, has suffered a number of changes: the main enemies are now not synthetics, but organics, moreover, not very weak. But I wanted to talk about the immediate benefits of this game. Firstly, the characters: in Mass Effect 2 they are made as masterpiece as possible, so you can also have a novel with almost everyone (but my choice will always be on Tali and Garrus). Porsonage also worked knowingly, added much more replicas, interactions and other improvements. Most of the secondary quests, of course, remained in the file-bring format, but the main plot was made chic. DLCs, of course, can leave the best, but they look very even nothing, although driving a "hammer" on many planets, the battles in which consist of clamping the left mouse button, are slightly strained. If you want to try this game, then I strongly recommend that you pre-pass the first part, so as not to lose the threads of the plot. This masterpiece cannot be described in words to understand its taste, you need to go this road yourself Expand

Mass Effect 2 resumes with pride the path opened by the first game. This sequel is a lesson of how things should be made.
  2. Mass Effect 2 delivers a story that's deeper than what many novelists are capable of, and its action is better than what most Hollywood directors are creating nowadays. It's an addictive, engrossing experience that many gamers will replay over and over while they hold their breath waiting for the third game.
  3. A brilliant mix of shooter and role-playing, filled with great characters, excellent design, lots of action and clever dialogue. It's a shame though that Bioware did not improve the inventory and skill system of the first game, but actually reduced it even more. I really wished there were more customization options, more ways to develop and gear up my characters. But all these are merely small points of criticism, since there is so much to feel and experience in this game. Mass Effect 2 is a thrilling, emotional ride and ultimately every bit as good as its predecessor.
