If there was some actual replay value in the game and AI/pathfinding was improved along with some User Interface tweaks I would easily say this was a buy, but right now I am right on the edge of saying buy or stay away. Perhaps in a few months of patches the game will have improved enough to nudge me one way or the other.
-
By copying the original game, 1C: Ino-Co preserved its charm, but exposed its flaws. In 2000, they were excusable; in 2009, they are depressing.
-
A solid, yet forgettable fantasy strategy game with some interesting ideas, but a weak campaign and way too much repetition.
-
The move to vibrant, fully-realized 3D hasn’t altered the formula at all.
-
AceGamezMajesty 2 is definitely a game you should play as it changes the way you approach a real time strategy game.
-
Majesty 2 looks as interesting as the previous one. A fast and fun game suitable for all users, regardless of their level of experience in RTS, with a fantasy world under the most typical and traditional guidelines in this kind of settings. However, the game is still too repetitive but is still perfect to enjoy the idle moments due to its multiplayer mode. One option that is almost impossible to go wrong.
-
I suppose if you're tired of Majesty 1 and want some more of the same action pick up Majesty 2. It should give you hours worth of game play.
-
Majesty 2's charms will wear off a few missions into the campaign, and then once the feelings of repetition and frustration set in you'll have little motivation to keep going. Track down the demo and give it a play or two and you'll probably have your fill of the game.
-
Majesty 2 wastes its unique premise on quests loaded with repetition.
-
PC Zone UKTen years late. [Jan 2010, p.78]
-
A fantasy real-time strategy that ignores conventions as readily as its heroes ignore your commands.
-
Innovative game mechanics and solid execution are held back by difficulty issues and a lack of tactical depth.
-
PC Gamer UKAn intriguing spanner in the strategy game works, but one that causes too many malfunctions to justify its existence. [Dec 2009, p.90]
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Majesty 2 is quite a mad game with chaotic controls and exaggerated difficulty. It is more an action RPG with unpredictable outcomes then classic RPG or even “Kingdom Sim”. [Oct 2009]

CodiTOct 8, 2009Great game, but far too short. If they add a customizable gameplay mode like the first Majesty had then it would be worth an 8 or 9.
