    Best gangster game in my opinion. Story, hot scenes, voice acting, music, huge selection of cars from that period of time, police law system implemented in this game are unique, car destruction, npc will run out of ammo, and even you can run out of gasoline. I highly recommend getting this game.
    The only problems that you can run are technical issues, some ocasional bugs and missing    Best gangster game in my opinion.     I can play Mafia once again and again through all theese years. I love it and the game itself looks so complete. Everything here looks so plausible, so I fell in love with this game.
    This game shows how Tom was drowning in mafia lifestyle, wich caused his downfall.
    Masterpiece from Gathering of Developers. You can't just quit since you're in :)

People leave out games, because they have old graphics, but this game is better than 99% of games you can play today and it looks still good!

    One of the best third person action games. Wonderful plot, high-level dubbing, old-time gameplay. Bought as soon as it was released in 2002, I never stopped using it as a yardstick for even recent titles. a Must Have for every true gamer.

    All subsequent editions were embodied not for the sake of high-quality games, but only thought about the business of money in order to use this brand of the name Mafia) So this is the only original that to play to this day with great pleasure. (Such quality games are no longer made in the 2020s, and in 2002 they released this amazing masterpiece)

    This is the best edition as the original of 2002 in the best form today and always for all days of life time! A game for the ages! We loved the quality of games in those past years and were proud of it! This is the only version of the original MAFIA game !

    Great game of the original version, this edition even in 2002 is the best to date and has more content and access to the game's locations, compared to the rotten and cheap empty MAF-DE from 2020.

    If you combine impressive graphics (for 2002), a compelling story, a great open world environment (It has to be taken into account that this one was released prior to the ground-breaking GTA Vice City), good gameplay and diverse missions (from shooting to stealth to driving), you get one of the greatest games of the decade.

    Almost 20 years from the first time I played this game, I am certain that this has been and will always be among the very best PC games to have ever appeared. The game is amazing at face value, even if you skim through the campaign and don't play even one side mission (referring to Lucas Bertone's ones, and others). However, it is only when you dig deeper, emerge yourself into the atmosphere & the climate of the '30s, and when you notice all the intricate mechanics that the devs put in this masterpiece, when you notice what a gem this is. I have been playing - sometimes casually, sometimes hardcore - the game for close to two decades now, and keep coming back to it, even as the life goes on with its own sets of challenges & news. I have played Mafia 2 & 3 & DE with hopes that even one of them comes close. None did. Mafia 1 will always be the game for me and I am extremely grateful to the devs for the work they put in this title. An absolute masterpiece that even in 2021 has an extremely dedicated speedrun player base that constantly reverse-engineer the game to find ways to beat it quicker (as well as a base of faithful players that keep on playing nearly two decades after its launch). I am pretty sure I will never be able to praise another game like this one ever again (though I hope I will!). For me, quite simply, this is the best game ever.… Expand

    Great atmosphere and story, amazing soundtracks, gameplay is ahead of its time with all the little features the developpers took care about. And i also love how almost every mission in the game is iconic in its own way, so you could remember all of them after completing the game quite a while ago, and that's what next Mafia games lack in my opinion.

    I never played a game as many times as Mafia. It has bugs but I love it nonetheless. The story, the missions, the music, the details will never age. It's a timeless masterpiece.

    While not as light or fast paced as gta3 and vc, it is much more realistic, has a huge map, much more cinematic, and very different gunplay. The game felt more like Max Payne with cars to me, but I think its because the graphics are so similar. After you've finished GTA3 and Vice City you need to play this game. Its great.

    While the game undoubtedly has a slower start, it is TOTALLY worth it. Lost Heaven is a beautiful period piece that feels like an actual, living world. The gameplay is nice, and not easy either. It's a MUST BUY for any fan of open world games, crime dramas, or shooters.

    It's quite difficult and certain parts are annoying (such as the Lucas Bertone missions), but it's an awesome game that puts all GTA titles to shame.

    Some of the shootouts and "that race" are punishingly difficult, but you'll want to persevere for a romantic and cinematic gangster tale that alludes to mafia movies like Once Upon a Time in America and Goodfellas. One of the greatest games to use the Grand Theft Auto clone format, and one of the earliest.

    Characters are well written.
    World is semi open and nice to explore.
    Game is realistic.
    Shooting is risky and challenging and not childish.

    Everything in this is amazing but one thing is not and that is that the missions are given on the opposite of the map just so you have to drive all the way there and back.

    Классическая гангстерская история. Конечно это не соперник ГТА в плане открытости мира и возможностей, но атмосфера и персонажи здесь намного правдоподобнее чем в детищах рокстар.

    Mafia is the most authentic crime game ever released. Graphics and cinematics are convincing, the plot is thrilling and gameplay is fun. Only the controls are sometimes challenging but worth practicing. Very good game!

    The Mafia series is one of my favorite series of all time. The story is absolutely amazing and unforgettable. There are moments that make you cry and that you will really never forget. The characters and missions are also well written here. For me, the game deserves 9.5 / 10.

Ремейк хоть и сделан в целом качественно, но более голливудский лоск, динамичный темп и недостаток бюджета всё же не позволяет назвать его полной заменой оригинала.     Были большие надежды на ремейк, однако, он получился калом, где геймплейного контента столько же, а еще он испорчен, уродская стрельба, механика ускорения машины это вообще ужас. Although the open world city is huge (larger than say GTA 4), this is not an "open world/sandbox" game.
