    Overrated as hell. Very cliche (which is not a problem by itself) but the cliche was not done that good. The fact that everyone around me kept saying that would be one freaking good game didn't help it neither, and I ended up very disapointed. Probably will never play it again unless if I decide to make a video for YouTube or something like that.

    The only reason to play this game is for its story which is really good. Not amazing but compelling enough.

    Everything else is serviceable but nothing special. Characters are interesting, the open world is borderline useless and could have been left out, city looks good though.

    I used to finish this game every holiday. I've done it more times than I can count anymore. You never get bored of this game, one of the best atmospheres in the history of the game is here. the city lives

    What can I say, without going too far, it is a small pearl of the videogame world. game in chapters, once finished the game doesn't allow you to do anything Extra, but it's not a problem since the game within each chapter gives total freedom to the player.     Вторая часть не прошла для меня проверку временем. Хотя поначалу я и восхищался ею, спустя десять лет перепройти её не смог банально из-за внезапно пронзающей меня скуки. Да, у игры порядочная визуальная и неплохая шутерная часть. Тем не менее, её некая бесхребетность выдаёт незаконченный и порезанный сценарий. Главный герой уныл и неинтересен. Неожиданная концовка оборачивается ничем,Вторая часть не прошла для меня проверку временем. This game has quite a few minuses, such as the fact that if you finish the story, you have absolutely nothing to do. There is not even a free ride, there are quite a lot of bugs in this game, it is a very truncated work, it does not have as great a story as Mafia 1.     Я бы сказал, что в наше время эта игра очень спорная. Сюжет довольно интересный. Атмосфера офигенная. Радио супер. Геймплей такой себе. Открытый мир пустой. Присутствует растягивание геймплея с помощью длительного маршрута к заданию. Графика хреновая, даже, для 2010 года. Полигонов мало, текстуры очень низкого качества. Первая мафия как-то получше будет, хоть она мне тоже не понравилась.Я бы сказал, что в наше время эта игра очень спорная. Сюжет довольно интересный. Атмосфера офигенная. Радио супер.     Приятная во всех смыслах игра и вполне не плохое продолжение культовой первой части.
    К сожалению много контента из игры было вырезано и как мне кажется открытый мир был тут лишним из-за его посредственного наполнения.

    I play this game till may 2020, but later I stop playing, because is too much for me. I played 5 years from 2015 with huge breaks. Why i give only 6? Players make this game too overrated. Soundtrack is very good, story is amazing, but in this game very small map and too less possibilities. For me world is closed. In the middle of the city are barriers. So it's out of map.     This Is excellent single player game with great story and interesting characters but this game has many technical issues that do take away a lot from enjoyment of playing this game. I’ve encountered problems like cashes to desktop, green cars without textures, some cutscenes with weird looking characters and few others. The story is good, characters are very likable, audio and voiceovers (Joe Barbaro voiceover is superb) are really well done, graphics are decent for 10 year old game, fighting and shooting is fun. I enjoyed Mafia 2 better than Mafia 1 Definite Edition. This could easily be 8 - 9 out of 10 type of game but there are too many technical issues. I will still recommend this game but be prepared to be frustrated with glitches.… Expand

    It was an.. interesting experience. Imagine a sea that is 1 meters deep. That is Mafia 2. It has a promising start but it leaves you staring blandly.

    Cool plot, cool character development, quirky driving, quirky shooting, good graphics, cool theme for the game. The police is OBNOXIOUS, especially in the dlcs.
    It's a shame that the game is pretty short too.

    I enjoy the 50's era, always found it fascinating, found this game enjoyable and immersive with a good story and voice acting.

    Though not sure why it's open world as all you do is main story missions, go on a lengthy drive where they tell you to go and there are no side quests.     And missions can feel a bit repetitve. Drive a long way, each mission seems to be as far away as possible so you can have a long drive. I like the action and shootouts. Almost everything, the music is great too.

    The game is lacking in any player choice or decision, you just have to do what the mission objective tells you. I did experience a few bugs.

    You can't save when you want, it automatically saves at certain points.

    I give it 7/10 because of the wonderful atmosphere, controls are good, driving smooth and enjoyed playing this game.    … Expand

    I was late to the party and only started playing this game this week.

    It took me 13 hours and 50 mins to complete. I would not replay this game either, because there is no incentive to, as it is a linear mission-based game. It IS a small open city concept game, but there is really nothing to do in the city other than the what the missions have you doing, which is mostly driving.     I went into this game after playing The Godfather game years back. I expected better graphics, which I got, and more similar type of gameplay that I saw from The Godfather. I thought the game was leading me to eventually running the city, controlling business, making money, buying cool stuff, customizing hot rides etc., but instead, the game just ended abruptly.

    I felt there was a story around the father character that was left incomplete, and even around the sister, which both don't receive enough attention.

    Other than driving around from point A to B, spending some time in jail to learn a new fighting technique, stealing a couple of cars to help drive you around quicker, there was little else the game had to offer. There were Playboy magazines that you could collect in the game, but I accidentally that found out 3/4 into the game and couldn't care less. I actually found all the images on YouTube.

    The game was entertaining up until it ended and I found out that I wasn't going to get what I wanted out of it, which was to be my own mob boss and run the town. Customize weapons, cars, clothing and manage businesses to grow my empire.

    I'll pass on Mafia III and hope to see what I've asked for in Mafia IV, if it ever gets created.    … Expand

    The combination of the ancient control mechanics, odd pacing and lack of real world entertainment drag the game down and seriously decreased my enjoyment of Mafia II. Still, it's worth a playthrough if you just adore mafia games and have a solid PC build to take it on.

    I walked into my experience of Mafia II with no real expectations other than hearing my colleague's praise. What I walked away with after playing through the story was a sense of awe and amazement that I haven't had since Alan Wake.
