    Oyunun hikaye ve gameplay kısmında hiçbir sıkıntısı yok taş gibi ancak madem bir modernleşme işine giriyorsunuz Mafia 1'e yaptığınız gibi bunda da boş araba kısımlarını geçme şansı sunmanız gerekirdi. Bunun üstüne tonlarca görüntü bugu, oyunun en etkileyici yanlarından biri olan atmosferin içinden geçiyor.

    Overrated as hell. Very cliche (which is not a problem by itself) but the cliche was not done that good. The fact that everyone around me kept saying that would be one freaking good game didn't help it neither, and I ended up very disapointed. Probably will never play it again unless if I decide to make a video for YouTube or something like that.

    Esta claro que no tiene una historia muy larga, pero la historia a mi me pareció buena, especialmente tiene un final muy fuerte. La jugabilidad igual que el 1 no me agradó, los gráficos también pudieron ser mejorables. No es tan buen juego como el anterior, sin embargo, tampoco lo consideraría malo.

    This game does not look very good from the point of view of the remaster. In places, it breaks the picture, which is why it is impossible to pass it. But thank you that they did not change the plot and gameplay

    I bought the remastered trilogy of hearing for years nothing but praise for the series, especially the plot and characters, and wanted to give it a go now it's remastered.
    However I found the games incredibly dull and shallow. This is especially true for Mafia 2. The characters were 2 dimensional and the plot was daytime-tv level. The gameplay was pretty unexciting and run-of-the-mill. I had instances where my game completely locked up on playstation because it mid-game asked me to create a 2k Account and I clicked the refuse button. I had to force close the game to be able to do anything. Then one time, whilst playing the game, I got screen lag whilst pressing buttons, only for a privacy policy screen pop up saying it wants to remove my privacy and do i accept, immediately followed by a thank you for accepting message.    … Expand

    Тк все обладатели оригинала получили игру бесплатно, претензий к разрабам не имею.
    В целом ремастер чутка подтягивает графику, но я бы не сказал что отличия прям явно заметны. Само собой все это было сделано чтобы продать трилогию вместе с ремэйком оригинала.

    A good part, the plot is better than the first, but there is not enough character development, there is a lot and it is difficult to remember everyone. It's easy to predict the ending.

    I understand the people who complain that barely anything has changed. And I would not recommend this game for the full price. But if its on sale, it is a good choice to enjoy the great game once again.

    - редкие чекпойнты - ближе к концу игры есть миссия на заработок денег. Сам по себе процесс крайне муторный, и не дай боже вы случайно умрете со скопившейся суммой, как это получилось у меня) ну и по ходу миссий тоже хотелось бы их почаще (умерев на 3 крупной перестрелке за миссию, где вас может убить одна дробь, начинаете всю миссию заново).
    Еще в минусы можно добавить кривой движок и отвратительную оптимизацию физики (спасибо ужасному PhysX), но в целом особого дискомфорта мне это не доставило, так что этот пункт так, к слову.
    Если бы не перечисленные недостатки, то можно было бы и 9 вполне поставить.    … Expand

    The story of Vito Scalleta is one that I will surely not forget anytime soon. The game is as fun as the first one and still retains the format of linear open-world. However the remaster is not that different from the original and it's best to play that instead.

    Game is awesome for me. Straight up story with missions, no **** around. If you play MAFIA I first will be great. This one was easier for me. Im rating MAFIA I with 10points, MAFIA II with 9points, but im giving extra point for Joe's smile haha :D Great game! Great story.

    This game has too many bugs. The story is very poor. They didn't change anything than the original one. This game isn't a mafia game. It is just a driving simulation. Optimization is very bad, graphics are not looking good. This game has a great potential but they didn't use it.

Svět je nyní detailnější, působí větší a propracovanější + je parádně prosvícený. Rázem si všimnete mnohem více detailů okolí i charakterů což velmi obohatí váš zážitek ze hry, zvlášť pro lidi co užMafia II: Definitivní edice je velmi povedený remaster, i když neopravuje žádné chyby nepřináší ani nic navíc do příběhu, i tak krásně osvěžuje svou vylepšenou grafikou starou dobrou Mafii 2. Svět je nyní detailnější, působí větší a propracovanější + je parádně prosvícený. Rázem si všimnete mnohem více detailů okolí i charakterů což velmi obohatí váš zážitek ze hry, zvlášť pro lidi co už to projeli několikrát. Také navíc přibylo pár partiklů a například lepší textury sněhu. Story nebyl nijak upraven a v této edici navíc dostanete veškeré DLC, takže kdo hru nemá určitě doporučuji do sbírky. Mafia 2 je perfektní příběhová akce.
    Některé bugy a gliče ve hře stále zůstali, ale s tím se dalo počítat, hra se pouze graficky vylepšovala, neopravovala, stále je i tak na svou dobu dost inovativní a patří do toho lepšího soudku série. Furt zde ale pociťujete pocit že z předchozího dílu si jenom vzala ale nic nového nepřináší, tedy zlatá jednička, ale stále doporučuji i tento kousek.    … Expand

    Like Mafia: Definitive Edition, this was another great experience! I thought I would see somewhat of an overhaul but I appreciate that I was still able to play it as if it was the original.

    Not very impressive graphics and rather janky animations both during cutscenes and during gameplay, you don’t feel as much a part of the story as in Mafia 1 but the game is still pretty good at telling a story

    The worst remastered i have played so far. Every time i play the game, i encountered a bug that is so **** irritating. Also, no changes is gameplay sucks.

    Keep away lots of bugs you should stay with the original. Mafia 1 definitive edition is worth it in my opinion, but if you get this one it would be a waste even on sale.

В момент убийства Генри. Очень жестокая картина, на самом деле и реплики Джо после убийства практически полностью олицетворяли мои эмоции.. Порой персонажи какие-то безэмоциональные и скучные, но это сугубо моеИгра просто прекрасна. Физика - шедевр, мне очень понравилось в отличии от первой мафии.     I’d previously played the Mafia series but revisited with the definitive editions, have to say that the original game was a better remaster graphics wise imo but both stories were amazing, especially the endings. Definitely worth a play imo..

    This is no definitive edition! more like a crash grab. I gave it an 8 because I enjoyed this game so much back in the day, and now its a fantastic opportunity to replay this experience. But as gameover.gr said below the problems with the plot, mission development, character development, driving and gunplay are still present. It can be boring some times too. Sometimes the game will drop below 30 frames with my last gen rig, never in the open world but some indoors get 20 frames with 10% GPU and 5% CPU utilization, like my PC is relaxed and the game struggles to get 20 frames. Then why an 8? cause its mafia II and replaying Vito story was worth the buy and the play time.… Expand

    • Mafia 2 does not need a remaster: The game holds itself very well to this day, a remaster was not necessary, sure, it would have been a good thing, if the publisher had not decided to be scummy about it. If you think this is a    Mafia 2 is an amazing game, and it doesn't deserve to be treated as a cash grab as it is being treated. The reasons I wouldn't recommend this remaster are:

    • Mafia 2 does not need a remaster:
    The game holds itself very well to this day, a remaster was not necessary, sure, it would have been a good thing, if the publisher had not decided to be scummy about it. If you think this is a good remaster, you're wrong, the only thing they did was remaster the textures, but many of the original bugs such as smoke flickering for example are still present, and some bugs which I have never seen on the original game are now also present.

    • The Scummy strategy which is being applied to the Mafia franchise:
    The strategy which was applied is an absolute insult, they removed the original mafia 2 to give place to a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ half-baked remaster which is more expensive than the original game. They should have kept the original Mafia 2 for cheaper and also add the definitive edition to the store as a more expensive version for those interested, instead of shoving this ♥♥♥♥ down everybody's throat.    … Expand

    In general the main game is not bad, not as immersive as first game but it's also entertaining. Game just got a little old and remaster is not enough for it.

    I think the biggest issue with this remaster is that it doesn't look like a remaster. Taking a look at comparison videos, a lot of the textures did get upgraded... but to less blurrier textures. At least with remasters like Burnout Paradise, every textures looks crisp and clean.     Then comes the issue with Apex, and PhysX. From what I understand, NVIDIA PhysX is still there, especially since the logo is shown when you start the game, but the option to enable/disable isn't in the menus anymore. However, the Apex coat physics seem to be gone or at least disabled. Once we find out more, then I'll update this.

    I'm still happy I got it for free for owning Mafia II, but for the people who were looking for a true remaster, this isn't it.    … Expand

    Just to make it clear, my 4/10 score here doesnt reflect the quality of Mafia 2 as a game, but the underwhelming remaster work of the Definitive Edition...definitive my bloody arse...as the original release is still a good game and overall still offers a superior experience than the one found in DefEd.

    The only praise worthy part about DE remaster are the in places visibly upgraded    Just to make it clear, my 4/10 score here doesnt reflect the quality of Mafia 2 as a game, but the underwhelming remaster work of the Definitive Edition...definitive my bloody arse...as the original release is still a good game and overall still offers a superior experience than the one found in DefEd.

    The only praise worthy part about DE remaster are the in places visibly upgraded textures, especially the road/ground textures aswell as sharper looking cutscenes, character models look a bit more refined, but overall in most places it's hard to notice any major visual upgrades. As far as i experienced and know, there are no gameplay refinements in this release, for better or for worse...probably for the better.

    Then comes the fun stuff. The frame rate is mostly solid, but the game keeps micro stuttering all the time, no matter the graphics settings. It's tolerable by my standards, but for many people it would probably be deal breaking. Then there are frame drops where there shouldnt be any, especially during times when it rains in-game. There were some bugs and glitches, like an NPC spawning in out of nowhere and starting to beat me up, in one cutscene a character's eyes glitched out for the entire duration, but overall nothing literally game ruining. Oh and the game now loves to crash way too much for my liking. The PhysX appears to be even more broken in this remaster than it was in the original, with PhysX on, the frame rate simply dies, like 10 frames per second dies. So, sadly i had to go about without seeing the fancy PhysX effects on display. The DefEd also comes in at around 35 GB in size, compared to around 10 GB originally, i dont see why it should be taking up 3.5x bigger size since the visual upgrades are subtle at best.

    Save yourselves the headaches and just get the original Mafia 2 release...    … Expand

    A broken port of a classic game. Some bugs are so bad the game becomes unplayable. Sometimes hard reloading the game/restarting the mission helps, but sometimes it doesn’t. The game also likes to freeze dead in random occasions. So sad, the original game is so good and exciting.

    This is a bad port of a mediocre PS3 game. The original Mafia, while rough around the edges, was great because it had great characters, an engaging rags to riches story, and a memorable city to explore. Mafia II has none of those things. The playable character, Vito, is a generic war veteran who comes home from the war, and through circumstances beyond his control starts rising up the ranks of the mafia (never heard that story before). The characters are at best unremarkable and at worst insufferable. The city is entirely empty. Money is barely needed for anything, which is good, because the story really loves to give Vito large sums of cash just to take it away two or three missions later. The police are either completely idiotic or omniscient depending on how lucky you are. The game has an overreliance on driving from one end of the city to another, sometimes two or three times in just one mission. The gunplay is downright terrible. The game has a real problem with questionable hitboxes and enemies that are total bullet sponges. No joke, you can shoot a guy at point blank range in the chest with a shotgun and he will probably walk it off. The checkpoint system is also garbage. Most missions don't have any, making you redo at least 20 minutes of gameplay each time, which usually also involves needing to skip several cutscenes. One particularly egregious instant comes late in the game when you are tasked with killing a character. You are thrown into a massive firefight with 20 or so enemies only to then be thrown into a small, enclosed room with about 10 more guys while the boss is chucking molotov cocktails at you. The only problem is that due to the wonky hitboxes, the cheap enemy placement, the lack of cover, and the small environment, you basically don't stand a chance. Every time you die, you have to do the entire sequence all over again too. There's also a very common glitch on another mission where you are required to race to another character's house, break down his front gate, and get in the home on the most tight time limit I think I've ever seen where the gate to his home is suddenly protected by an invisible wall. The only known fix for this glitch is to shut off the game completely and restart the game. On top of all this, the game looks like an early PS3 game. Character models are reused constantly. This is especially noticeable when doing missions that involve Black or Chinese characters because they could only bother to create about two or three character models. On top of that, the game runs like garbage too. Almost anything you do will cause the framerate to tank. Texture pop ins are to be expected. I also had several cutscenes which had real Assassin's Creed Unity vibes because characters and their skin were moving independently of each other. There was even one bit in a prison where everybody from guards to inmates were all t-posing to assert dominance. All in all, this is a buggy, poorly optimized version of an already bad game.     I got into this series because of the Mafia remake (which I highly recommend but it is short at 18ish hours) and bought the 3 game collection on sale on Steam. Bear in mind, I hadn't played these originally when they came out. That being said, Mafia II: Definitive Edition is less a remaster and move a 10 year old game with an updated texture pack.     After playing Mafia 1 Definitive Edition, I am so angry I wasted my time on Mafia 2. This game is so much worse than the original. Horrible story, graphics are not good I could barely tell the difference between this and the original. BORING!

    the best part of the trilogy, interesting story, characters. I haven't played the classic version of the game, so I can't judge the quality of the remake, the graphics are certainly far from the best, but still it was more or less pleasant to play. The main thing is history!

    Mafia 2 is a great game with an awesome story, unfortunately Mafia 2 definitive edition doesn't do anything except make it a less enjoyable experience, with an absolutely absurd amount of bugs and glitches. This is not the definitive way to experience Mafia 2.

    Es difícil valorarlo debido a que simplemente es una adaptación del original en HD. Contando con una gran historia y unos personajes excelentes es un buen juego. Pero no hay que olvidar que las mecánicas y jugabilidad están desfasadas pero en este caso lo valoro como una adaptación y mi puntuación es de 6.

    Great game with one of the best and most engaging mafia stories in gaming. Not sure why it's getting review bombed, game was even given free to any OG Mafia II owners and it's half the price of a modern game for a new buyer... $30 SHOULD be the price of a Singleplayer only 15 hour-30 hour game with DLC.

You are definitely going to notice that this is not the original Mafia II. The huge number of bugs will definitely distinguish this remaster from its original counterpart. These bugs affect the graphics (glitching hats, glitching smoke, you have to enable clothes physics manually by deleting a folder etc.), audio (mission music will keep playing forever after finishing the mission, glitching cutscenes audio) and gameplay (you might get twice the amount of money for Bruno from Joe). Lots of the bonus cars and clothes are only available on second playthrough, which is just idiotic given that this is a remaster of a game that we have all played at least once in the past and also the fact that this game is very linear that the second playthrough will be exactly the same as the first one. Oh and the best bonus car is locked until you connect your game with a 2K account.

    Way to go Hangar 13, you incompetent idiots. I have absolutely no faith in you and I am really praying that you do not mess up the Mafia remake, although I know you probably will. Final verdict: 10 %    … Expand

    I've beaten Mafia twice in my life, once when it first came out in 2010 and now a decade later. There are two primary positive aspects to the game: the story is relatively enjoyable, if a bit short, and the aesthetics were pretty good for the time period that it came out. I would say most everything else about the game is at best, neutral or "meh" and at worst, just absolutely terrible.I've beaten Mafia twice in my life, once when it first came out in 2010 and now a decade later. There are two primary positive aspects to the game: the story is relatively enjoyable, if a bit short, and the aesthetics were pretty good for the time period that it came out. I would say most everything else about the game is at best, neutral or "meh" and at worst, just absolutely terrible. There are bug/glitches galore and you spend as much time fighting the controls/camera/poor vehicle handling as you do the enemies.

    A truly tragic amount of content was cut during development and it is very obvious; the main story-line is a shell with virtually nothing to do besides the primary missions. Basically all side content was not completed in time and tossed into the garbage. This is immediately noticeable as two characters in-game were obviously going to have numerous side-jobs, but instead they just comment that they have nothing for you to do right now.

    A minor nit-pick that I was personally flabbergasted at, is that the voice actor for the secondary protagonist, Joe Barbaro, also voices another main character in the story. They sound almost identical, except one is constantly making "lip-smacking" eating noises while speaking. It's puzzling how they failed to appropriately properly budget for another voice actor.

    Speaking of Joe, his DLC titled, "Joe's Adventures" may possibly be one of the worst hunks of flaming trash that I have ever encountered. I'm not sure if they put some junior intern team on this debacle or what, but it fails spectacularly in every aspect. It is frustratingly unbalanced and was not play-tested in the least, the missions come in floating icons hovering off the ground with no cut-scenes nor rhyme or reason explaining the greater story behind your actions, and it adds virtually no new concepts/mechanics. They also failed to record enough lines from the voice actor, so like that Rick and Morty episode, you're going to hear, "Hey, it's me, Joe." multiple times. All together, this is something I would expect from a fan-made mod, not a professional team. If I had purchased it as DLC (rather than coming packaged with the whole game now) I would be furious that I had been swindled

    If you want to play a crime open-world, play one of the newer ones: Red Dead, GTA, or Sleeping Dogs. Skip this.    … Expand

For starters, it wasn't a remaster as much as it was a tuneup on models of most of the main characters. Practically nothing else changed with this game from the previous-gen version. Almost every NPC looked unpolished , the audio in a number of cutscenes sounded horribly outdated, and most of the glitches and bugs from the original game were persistent. I remember enjoying this game when it first came out 10 years ago. Maybe it was because I was younger and I didn't know a thing about good story. The story in this game is, practically, nonexistent--or, at least, it branches off or creates new storylines so many times to the point where there's no actual basis for what's going on. The open world is enjoyable but feels unnecessary as there are almost 0 rewards for exploration and no side missions or activities in the world. This game might've been better if it had no open world to speak of as there's very little substance to it. There are multiple points in the game where you lose ALL of your money without any prompting. While I don't wish to slight the game for it, the use of ethnic and racial slurs throughout the game has not aged well and gives the game a very poor modern scope. The combat is unbelievably frustrating and punishing. I did not feel any better at shooting or aiming in this game in the final mission than I did in the first. The ending is also one of the worst I've ever seen in a video game...AND IT WAS NEVER RESOLVED, even after a bunch of DLC. I despise this game and I wish I could give it a 0 but I instead give it a 1. Why? Because the music was fine.… Expand

    Mafia 2 is my all time favorite game and that's why I have 10/10 on the original, however this remaster is nothing but a next-gen console port. There are no noticeable differences between the original and the remaster. I wouldn't recommend buying this on PC if you haven't received it for free for owning original.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Mafia II is a lazy repetitive, buggy, unfinished GTA IV wannabe with no charm or identity whatsoever. Usually people accuse games like Sleeping Dogs of being a GTA clone but at Sleeping Dogs has an original and unique setting with melee combat that, while not the best ever, manages to separate it from GTA. GTA IV has better combat than Mafia II despite coming out two years before it. The mission structure is non-existent, and yes GTA games have always been repetitive but at least sometimes you had a tailing mission or in GTA IV you have the choice to kill certain characters or not, or if you don't catch to this guy something different happens. Here it's just go here, oh **** went wrong, kill this guy and his goons, go there, oh **** went wrong (again), (don't) catch up to these guys because the game is not programmed to let you. The story is half-assed but the best part of the game so I'm willing to let it slide, despite it not being as good as the first. the gameplay is horrendous, cars handle as well as forklifts on **** LSD, and yeah yeah realism all you want it doesn't for fun gameplay when cars either turn too fast, or too slow. The shooting is horrible, don't even bother with the lock-on, it almost never works, and the game developers thought it was a good idea to make the crosshair as big as your character's head and bright red in the middle of the screen, making the shooting galleries where you gun down poorly designed lines of identical clones (oh and I mean that literally, as Asian and African-American NPCs literally have two models for the entirety of the game) that serve as missions, unbearable. Money is meaningless, no need to even mention it as half the weapons you can ''buy'' with money are either useless or ones you'll have already obtained from the bodies of dead clones, oh and you can buy cars with it, why anyone would want to own cars in this game is beyond me as you can steal vehicles that are a hundred times better than the ones you can actually afford. The open-world is empty and lifeless despite having businesses, likely due to the fact that half the game was cut and mission checkpoints prevent any kind of interesting exploration as you'll often lose 40 minutes if your game crashes or you make a mistake. Bugs are frequent, as well as graphical glitches, cars flying across a street for no reason, leaving me to guess that the game was unfinished and that's why most of its content is cut. I remember people complaining about GTA V's downgraded and terrible melee combat, well despite it being the truth they clearly haven't played this game, where half of the animations are atrocious looking and every fight is avoid, avoid, punch, to add to that the broken physics make it especially jarring. The way the ''mob'', oh and calling it that is generous, is portrayed is ludicrous, especially when you watch real life criminal and caporegime Michael Franzese debunk myths about the way the mob is shown, so I suppose the writer was the developers' 12 year-old son that wrote the story after seeing Scarface for the first time. One last thing you'll notice is how broken the physics and hitboxes are for NPCs and etc, sometimes you'll shoot a cop 2 or 3 times through the head with a revolver, only for him to shoot you back and kill you, add to that the broken ragdoll physics and you have Mafia II, a game that tries to be a Mafia game and fails, a game that attempts at being a GTA game but fails, overall a terrible and lackluster experience that I couldn't recommend for anyone who loves the first game.… Expand

    The new version of Mafia 2 is more polished, cleaner and more detailed than ever before, but the problems with the plot, mission development, character development, driving and gunplay are still present. Ultimately, players who still own the original (now dubbed "classic") version of the game on Steam, had better stick to it.

    There are other modern updates, I’m sure. It runs fine on my PC, and though I have seen reports of bugs and glitches, I didn’t encounter anything egregious. But there’s still a question of why. Why remake these games? Why put a fresh coat of paint on this weird little action shooter that is not so fondly remembered? I’m sure there are compelling business reasons, but nothing that makes sense to me as a gamer. Mafia II is an imperfect fix to a game that was already pretty flawed. Now it’s just as flawed, but in a way that can be appreciated by modern audiences.
