  1. For football fans it simply cannot be missed. There are really no glaring faults at all. One would be hard-pressed to improve upon the graphics, controls, sounds, modes of play, varied content, and online play.

A difficult prospect when you're playing with a pad that has different mapping than the game it's set up for. [Nov 2007, p.57]

Although Madden NFL 08 isn't all that it could be, especially in light of the console omissions, it plays an intelligent game of football. [Dec 2007, p.62]

Anyone with half an eye can see how the presentation levels have been slipping like a ferret on ice over the last few years. [Nov 2007, p.84]

Still a solid sports sim, but more features means less fun. [Nov 2007, p.78]
  6. Beyond a roster update and a couple of small additions, there's little to Madden NFL 08 on the PC to make it worthwhile to anyone who bought last year's game.

The AI is ridiculous. Either you win 89 - 0 or they make so many unrealistic plays to keep the game close. The instant replay is a joke, the CPU teams are NEVER wrong, even when they are. (IE I scored a rushing touchdown of 82yards, the CPU challenges and it the touchdown gets taken back because the ball never crossed the plain) 90% of the time a user challenges he is wrong, even when he is right (IE catch the ball and turn to run, the ref calls a no catch, you request a review, you see on the review you were no where near the sideline, yet they still say the ruling on the feild stands.) The only thing this game has going for it is it is the only Football game for the PC. Full Review »

well, this is better than the newer maddens, but like early reviews said, the AI is even worse than madden 23. no. it’s actually awful. evenwell, this is better than the newer maddens, but like early reviews said, the AI is even worse than madden 23. no. it’s actually awful. even with calhoupes madden scripts (only fixes few ai issues) and ff/fi mod and 2022 roster, the ai is either ridiculously good on any difficulty, or out of nowhere they become wayyyy too easy. after punts if you don’t call fair catch prepare for a instant fumble, in PA plays, 50% chance of being sacked as soon as the fake handoff animation is done, in challenges/reviews it’s ALWAYS overturned, in the extra point there are WAY too many shanked PATS from the AI, most times o-line are equal to that one official madden 23 video people called out, doesn’t have a few features ps2/xbox OG/gamecube has, i can see why users like softdrink didn’t put this in the best madden 08 ports. and lastly, commentary is poor but at least it isn’t madden 12 commentary (worst commentary in madden imo) even charles davis and brandon gauden are better but have commentated for way too long (m17-23) 4/10 Full Review »

Nostalgia combined with the awesome franchise mode, pick-up-and-play ability, and rookie Darrelle Revis on my Jets make this in my opinion a fantastic game. Oh and also create-a-team got my 7 year old creative juices flowing. I love this game and if you disagree fight me Full Review »
