I remember playing this game with the dev at either PAX or E3 and asking if he had heard of the Space Alert board game (where you need to jiggle the screensaver else your ship might come crashing down). He confirmed, and fortunately he made this game much less comedic dystopian and much more comedic fun.

This is a great game to play with a significant other who might not be into videogames, up there with Portal. The art and sound is approachable and cute, you can tell the non-gamer that there really are only two buttons, and it's immediate laughs when someone tries to pilot the ship and runs into an wall: "It came out of nowhere!"

I've only dived a few hours into the game and the only issue I can see is a short shelf life, like with Nidhogg or Towerfall Ascension. But I may be pleasantly surprised the more I play, there appear to be many unlocks available. Otherwise, if you want a breath of fresh air for couch co-op this is the game for you. It's a much more memorable experience than a ticket to a movie anyways.

The trailer is great. Art style is pleasing.
Single player gameplay quickly (20% into the game) becomes boring. There just isn't much to do or collect. Not a bad game but not great either.

A wonderful and beautiful co-op game. Highly recommended. High stresslevel and spacerabbits!

I haven't had so much fun playing couch co-op (or single player honestly) in a long time. This game completely surprised me at how addicting and fun it is.

    9/10 would definitely pick up!

Amazing parent/child game. My son and I have loads of fun with this, and the visuals and sound are fantastic. We always come back to this game.

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is like a relationship: is fun only with an actual mate. [Feb 2016]

A beautiful game that shines in co-op but doesn’t have much to offer to a lone player. [13/2015, p.52]

This is a simplistic albeit immensely entertaining game if you experience it with a friend. The demanding situations of the later stages will require your utter cooperation leading to exciting battles for survival. Being designed as a primarily co-op experience, though, you should prepare for a more dull and trivial experience if you approach it as a single player game.
