I enjoyed every moment of Lost Ember, and when I stopped playing, I just wanted to get back in the game and wander around more and find more of the memories. The way the wolf and ember’s stories interweave is also touching and drew me into the world. It’s only about 6 hours long, depending on how much time is spent exploring, but it’s a great focused adventure game.

This stunningly beautiful journey across a magical world deals with themes of personal loss, betrayal and punishment as you watch a civilization turn into a memory. And it doesn’t even matter that you don’t get to actually play the game all that much.

Lost Ember ties a fun, original gameplay concept to an enjoyable, if a bit unremarkable, story. It will feel too thin for anyone approaching it looking for any amount of challenge, but if you’re willing to just enjoy the journey and let the story wash over you, Lost Ember is a singularly enchanting experience.

Since the first "official" announcement at Gamescom 2016 I was curious about Lost Ember. The premise with the animals and the fallen civilization as well as the appealing look quickly made sure that I was excited about the title. In the end Lost Ember is a lot of what I had hoped for. Calm, emotional, visually stunning and ... simply beautiful! It's a lot of fun to glide over the wonderful landscapes and put the game world and its secrets to the acid test. The only pity is that it really doesn't have much to offer. The story is really good, but apart from that Lost Ember offers quite little. Unfortunately, the found objects are hardly motivating. Nonetheless, Lost Ember manages to create a lot of significant moments, that I will surely remember for a long time.

Games are often escapist entertainment, but not everyone enjoys games that are full of tension, conflict or violence - at least all of the time. Lost Ember is a different form of escapism, an emotional and soothing journey into the natural world and its nonhuman inhabitants. People who play games for the challenges won’t find them in Lost Ember, but there other pleasures to discover and a thoughtful story that resonates with the power of ancient mythology.

Lost Ember is comfort solidified and crammed into your PC, waiting for you to return home like a faithful animal. It’s better than a warm cup of tea; it’s full of life, colour, and sound. It relaxes the mind but consistently stimulates, with new paths around every corner and the full glory of nature to explore. If you need a game in which to lose yourself this winter, then pick up a copy and settle in for the night.

Lost Ember is a game that wants you to take your time and take in the beauty around you, and it absolutely nails these goals. The entire design of the game is used perfectly to awe-inspire the player and give them the chance to explore at their own pace.

Lost Ember departs from typical video game fighting and puzzle-solving to tell a heartfelt story through the eyes of its animal protagonist. Thanks to its stunning art direction and obvious love for its subject matter, it offers a genuine emotional payoff despite having some elements that still feel undercooked.

Lost Ember lives from his sensitive story and the picturesque atmosphere. The animal characteristics, however, seem like a squandered gimmick due to the complete absence of puzzles.

Lost Ember is a very relaxing and intriguing walking simulator that follows a special wolf that can possess many other animals. Despite the numerous bugs that the game shows, it´s an enjoyable (but brief) adventure.

Lost Ember is a beautiful wild adventure, a journey through the memory of a lost civilization, a travel touched by too many technical errors.

Based on an impeccable art direction, Lost Ember provides a very enjoyable and quite emotional experience but suffers from some technical issues that prevent it from being a must have.

It's got some issues and bugs - both technical and actual bugs - but any game that lets you play as a wombat is at least worth a quick look. Lost Ember is an engrossing experience, and you'll be running, digging, swimming and flying to your next destination just to see how the story will turn out.

Lost Ember’s animal body possession provides some fun moments but the lack of anything substantive to do with it makes for a beautiful but surprisingly empty experience.

Lost Ember is a thoughtful and relaxing game, dedicated to players more interested in exploring beautiful landscapes and enjoying a nice story.

There is nothing to be gained from this game by rushing. It isn't an action game, and the puzzles are light but this game is more about the experience. It is an introspective game and relatively small, but in a way the amount of thinking it wants you to do based on the narrative could have you looking back at your time with Lost Ember time and time again as you face challenges in you day to day life.

The music is great, the dialogue is mostly good and the performance has occasional stutters and frame drops, but generally the whole thing hits well, and is worth the short few hours of time you will spend with it.

Lost Ember is a little on the pricey side in terms of game play, although the art and music quality justifies the price tag overall.

    TL:DR
This game will not appeal to the hand on thrill ride gamer; but hits the right notes for those who are willing to take a little time to embark on a casual introspective journey of exploration.

The First time I cried from a video game. The story and beautiful design is a 10/10.
