Loco Motive is a very well performed and funny point and click adventure with a memorable cast of characters. The majority of puzzles are structured well, though there are some that are very out there, and sometimes characters can get ahead of themselves before the story has caught up with them, but this is easy to recommend.

Loco Motive offers an entertaining mix of humor, mystery, and classic point-and-click gameplay set in a charming 1930's train. Despite some frustrating puzzles and technical bugs, the game remains engaging with strong dialogue and lively animations, making it a must for fans of Monkey Island and humorous whodunits.

Loco Motive does what it sets out to do – be a modern and faithful homage to the LucasArts adventure games. I’ve said it before, but modern game design has seen puzzles evolve beyond simply combining every item to progress and unfortunately, Loco Motive’s crime is that some puzzles pay too much homage, hurting the experience as it brings the game to a halt when you feel invested. Thankfully, the game’s captivating characters, funny dialogue and excellent pixel art animations mitigate the annoyances, and regardless, adventure fans should give Loco Motive a ride at some point.

An old-school point-and-click adventure with a detective storyline full of twists, out-of-the-box humour and a superbly characterised cast. The development team should work a little more on the fair amount of bugs that plague the gameplay and the enjoyability of some puzzles that cross the threshold of illogic.

Loco Motive is a comfy ride the whole way through. It’s good lookin’, it’s got a pleasant soundtrack, and the writing and voice acting are good for several chuckles. The way the stories of the three protagonists intermingle is a great concept that’s executed well enough, even if I wish it was a little more fleshed out. Still, fans of point-and-click adventure games have no reason not to add Loco Motive to their library.

Despite its beautiful pixel art, this graphic adventure game is not so brilliant when we talk about puzzle design or its story. But if you are looking for an adventure like the old times, it is a good option.
