If you’re in the mood for a decent top-down shooter with some solid ARPG elements in character building and load-out tweaking you could do a lot worse than the budget-priced Livelock. If you’ve got a good friend or two to play with, even better.

Livelock provides some enjoyable fun on the PC that although is not a challenge, still evokes a good gaming experience.

A robust, yet deeply uninspired top-down shooter that is fun for a couple of hours, but loses its charm rather quickly.

Livelock's worst bane is the abundance of heavily armored enemies whose health bars take a lot of time to chew through.

Livelock provides decent twin-stick shooter gameplay, for a good time with friends. It’s just a shame that the title doesn’t do anything new, focusing on an information-heavy plotline instead of providing any solid emotion.

The real disappointment of Livelock is that it doesn’t do anything particularly original or interesting. Everything works well enough, and there are definitely moments of fun to be had when you’re making scrap metal out of your foes. However, there’s nothing that lets it truly stand out amongst other top-down shooters on the market.

I have Livelock for both PC and XBox One - since I can't post a review for the xbox yet (seems metacritic is not keeping up with release datesI have Livelock for both PC and XBox One - since I can't post a review for the xbox yet (seems metacritic is not keeping up with release dates correctly..tsk tsk) I am including it here. So Livelock is a co-op based top-down shooter.. guess what... co-op is broken! lol. Once they fix this embarrassing QA oversight, my review will be better. Full Review »
