    Little Nightmares II is a delightfully spooky foray into a horrifyingly gorgeous world. It's also a bit too long, occasionally frustrating and, in one key moment, inaccessible for players who are deaf or hard-of-hearing. But, overall, it represents a successful follow-up from Tarsier. With inventive puzzle design and some startlingly original levels, it isn't quite a dream come true, but it certainly won't have you waking up, bolt upright, screaming, in a cold sweat.

    Little Nightmares II is just a worse game than the original. Everything they added to the system feels clunky at best and unfair at worst. It’s a shame because this same story, with its same environments, same levels, same enemies, and same music and sound would have been infinitely better if they kept the mechanics from the original.

    When Little Nightmares 2 sticks to the things it does best, it’s a great horror game that feels entirely unique in its scares. Almost everything, from Mono’s perspective as a tiny, almost-powerless character in a giant world, to the grotesque monster designs, to the mysterious city that’s been taken over by its televisions, combines to create a wonderfully upsetting world that I didn’t want to stop exploring, even after the game ended.

    Little Nightmares II such is a splendid mix of cute and creepy, beautiful and awful, that it sort of defies categorisation. A childhood terror gothic, perhaps? [RPS Bestest Bests]

    Сказать, что я ужасно недоволен игрой - ничего не сказать. Игра никак не связана с предыдущей частью. В плане того, что это приквел, нетСказать, что я ужасно недоволен игрой - ничего не сказать. Игра никак не связана с предыдущей частью. В плане того, что это приквел, нет никаких намёков, никаких подсказок про получение шестой силы, ни про то, как она оказалась в Чреве. Искусственно растянутый гемплей доставляет огромное количество неудобств. Перенос предметов из одной точки в другую настолько замедлен и настолько скучен, что мне стоило огромных усилий сидеть и проходить до конца это "шедевр".На первых парах ты поражаешься красотой локаций, детальностью прорисовки (если в настройках ты достаточно выкрутил графику). Но это всё пропадает в середине игры. Больше всего бросается в глаза убогость одежды и лица доктора, который появляется не на долго, но своей модельной убогостью портит впечатление. Концовка вообще поражает своей тупостью и странной сложностью. Кстати про баланс: его нету. Монстры тебя могу увидеть еле повернувшись в твою сторону, те места, где в прошлой части Шестая допрыгивала сама, сейчас требуется её помощь, ведь наша Героиня в одиночку беспомощная. Я всё понимаю, в первой части вышло прекрасное DLC построенное на подобном взаимодействиями с гномами. Но зачем навязывать это. Шестая - самый поломанный персонаж в игре. Она может застрять в дверном проём, может занять место под столом так, что вас не пустит под него, и вас поймает монстр. Это особенная тема, которая напрочь убивает желание проходить игру. По итогу всего вышесказанного, я хочу сказать, что у второй части Маленьких кошмаров был заметно больше бюджет, чем у первой части. В первую часть приятно играть не из-за графики, не из-за гемплея, а из-за души, которую вложили авторы в своё творение. От второй же части пахнет тухлятиной. Создаётся ощущение, что они сделали игру ради того, чтобы было. Лишь бы денег побольше набрать. Я по прежнему обожаю первую часть данной серии, и это ничему не изменить, но мне откровенно стыдно говорить о второй части и даже смотреть на неё, зная её убогости. Под конец хочется выделить, что это лишь моё мнение, и ваше право соглашаться с ним или нет. Играйте в хорошие игры, а для плохих есть рецензии метакритик… Full Review »

    Game demands you to know what is about to happen and have you execute the required action. The timings are not too tight but not dynamic either.

    In better games, the Monsters slow down or accelerate depending on your accuracy to the solution.

    It feels as if the game trying to make you fail unless you have a definite answer to the problem and it does not care if you figured the solution on the fly. I would enjoy it much more if it allowed me to survive as i have found the solution on time.

    The devs can check the much better game "inside" first scene with the dog. If you know exactly what to do, you barely get away from the dog but if you hesitated for a half second the game compensates and blends the dogs animations to a slower one yet accelerates again to create the "barely got away" feeling.    … Full Review »

They've really skimped on the "creature" segments, none of which are as sophisticated or memorable as in the first game. Plus the game mechanics are pretty terrible. This is a game where you die mostly due to bad control input. I don't remember that being such an issue in the first one. Near the end there's a very tired feeling maze mechanic that felt straight up lazy, and borrowed from the 90s. As a fan of the first game, this one is being vastly overrated.… Full Review »
