    A game that touches upon many themes, with fantastic character development and story, and choices to affect parts of the story later on. This game is an absolute gem.

    This game has been released in a series of episodes. The series meanders a bit but once it makes it past the half way point throughout the series it really picks up, reaching a level of legendary visual storytelling that is rarely realized in videogames. It's well worth your money.

    Its fresh. It has great story and characters. Its fun to play. The game was a pleasant surprised for me since I never heard about it before playing. Now Im eagerly awaiting for episode 2.

    This is a wonderfully engaging and thoughtful work of narrative art, with characters and events that stay with you long after you've played it. And for the record, I liked the music!

    The fetch quest elements are occasionally problematic, but the developers clearly learned their lesson and they get better as the game goes on. The time reversal mechanic is well-implemented.

    I have to admit, this is superb masterpiece in genre of adventures. I'm man but cried almost all game long, it's goes deep in heart, the story, characters, friendship. I can't say anything bad on this game, I have fully enjoyed how story is told and how you can change your mind, rewind time. More games like that!!! Supergirl just fly ...

    More a gem than a game. A must for all people with a heart. LiS evokes feelings that are extremely rare in games. Just play it (1. LiS Before the Storm. 2. LiS).

    A fantastic game from Squire Enix
    1.Graphics is just awesome.Color combination used here is just perfect and capture the true American theme...what is more, the attention given to graphics is insane ..even the little things are done with care....(10/10)

    Life is Strange is an enjoyable cinematic experience that's admittedly a little rough around the edges. 10% of the voice acting is hit/miss but the VO for the main characters absolutely nail it. One or two of the "revelations" come a little too late as you've already cottoned on far beyond when the protagonist should have realised. These are only minor gripes made all the more visible because the rest of the game is so beautiful, emersive, and engaging that when you encounter them you have no choice but to acknowledge them. Don't let them distract you from how impressive this game is.

    I've got very high hopes for the next batch of episodes of Life is Strange and a genuine interest in how the story unfolds. Buy it. Buy it now.    … Expand

    This is very very subjective opinion. My score is based on quality of experience without really taking into account weaker points of the game and there are some. Moreover I haven't really played other good adventure games so I guess novelty help me enjoy it more.

    Life is Strange is far from perfect. In reality our decisions and impact on story development is not as great as we would like and in the end regardless of other choices we are presented with similar dilemma. This put serious limitation on replayability.

    Additionally, the game is relatively short (it took me 12h to finish it) and if I have played each episode at time of its release I would be really annoyed. I would have probably be not able to enjoy it because "Llife is Strage" is about very well delivered engaging story and playing it for 2 hours every 4-6 weeks would break narration and prevent any emotional response. It needs to be said that plot could have been better at times.

    In my opinion releasing adventure games in episodic format limits enjoyment and in the longer run companies end up making less money, because as a consequence product they sell seems less appealing than it should.

    Fortunately I have played all episodes at once and ... that was memorable and intense 12 hours. This game is completely story driven but being able to affect events and express myself made the experience more engaging than any great tv show could have managed so far.

    I should have give this game 9 (I given 9 points to Dota 2 and played over 1000h), but I enjoyed it so much, that I turn blind eye on lack of replayability, limited choices and some flaws in the plot.    … Expand

    The Bad: 1) 3d models are not detailed enough. The game tries to use some kind of blur filter from time to time to hide this. 2) The games endings are... predictable.     The good: Astounding game that made me feel all sorts of emotions, I'm completely invested in the story and characters, and I would say that Dontnod does the formula better then telltale. Going off of telltale I have not experienced any immersion breaking graphical glitches (unlike telltale games where you will have body parts/ weapons fading through clothing etc) and the game tries to keep it so that the information you need to remember is provided within each episode (with one exception), which is handy since the business model has the episodes coming out every 2 or so months. The time travel mechanics are also very fresh (and thus unclear) and makes me wonder at the possibilities for time travel in future games.

    The bad: Some have pointed out issues with lip syncing but I have not noticed, also there is one exception to what I previously stated in that you do need to remember how the time travel mechanics work (which isn't very clear in the first place) from previous episodes, for example there were two puzzles in episode 3 which had me stumped for a good 10-15 minutes each, the first puzzle relies on using time travel mechanics in an unconventional way that you may or may not figure out as the game doesn't tell you (or if it does I don't remember it telling me which is a fault in clarity and guiding the player as several others have experienced this problem). The second puzzle I can't really get into without spoiling, but it was a failure in terms of game design, but not one that relies on the time travel mechanics.

    The ugly: Now for the business model, I abhor this business model (the episodic business model) and is one of the oldest tricks in the book in terms of television, it makes you want the next episode encourages you constantly thinking about it throughout the weekly, month;y or yearly, release schedule. This is a common marketing ploy used to keep you thinking about a product and is very effective in making you want more. However I am still willing to give this game a 10, which I suppose speaks to its effectiveness.

    TL:DNR Great game, while not a "game changer", like games such as Telltales the Walking Dead, it is still one of the finest examples of the genre and of storytelling in video games.    … Expand

    I put off playing this game for a long time because I assumed it was a Telltale knockoff. I heard things like how cringy the teenage slang was and I just thought that I wasn't missing much. I'm glad that some good came out of Telltale going under, because it made me look at this game again and really play it for the first time.     The greatest story you will ever play. Going into it, I never would've expected this would become my favorite game published by Square Enix. It's my favorite game, period. Life is Strange is an emotional rollercoaster and treats serious issues with weight and sincerity.

    Great game but a tad depressing and also suffers from some points of bad writing and illogical dialogue. I'm not very happy with either possible ending, but the experience was worth it overall, and I would still recommend this game.

    This is an unbelievably good game. It has excellent story turns, good design of gameplay and an amazing story progression. I can honestly say this is the best adventure game in the history of the genre at least since the release of The Longest Journey.

You will find a lot of symbolism in here,philosophy facts about life and not at last the Chaos Theory which is one of the main parts of the plot. I personally feel changed after played this title. It is a game about life and you can learn a lot from it.     This game is one of those games that makes you keep thinking about yourself. At least for me I can take it out of my mind. Mostly because I was always trying to be myself while playing this game, so every choice I made was telling something about who I am. I don't know if this was something that was intended or not, but that is the beauty of this game.

    This is not a game, nor a movie, it's an experience like no other. It immerse you into it's world, story, and characters perfectly. You share laughs and sadness and anger with the unique characters, a truly unforgettable and distinct experience. I will do anything to experience it again like the first time.

    As a newcomer to the genre I found it to be engaging, both in it's artistic direction and in it's story. The gameplay is nice enough and the whole time travel thing ads a bit of spice into the mix.     This game goes byone "gaming" as a multi media genre. It is artistic. It immenses you. It is relaxing and stressful in the same time. It's nothing we have seen so far. It playes differently. You can just chill with it, explore, think, wonder and ask yourself questions. I wish so much this to be a start of a new genre in gaming.     A True artistic masterpiece, it will suck you in the story from the beginning till the end. You play as a collegue photography student with amazing powers that will change the course of the story.

    It is the second game that makes me cry in my life.
    I can't imagine what can be a better medium to tell a story about time traveler than a video game like Life Is Strange.

    After playing through all 5 episodes, I just had to write a review. The game was quite the mindblowing experience. Well, what it does do, it does so well, that I'd actually wish I could rate it higher than a 10. Never, have I ever before,After playing through all 5 episodes, I just had to write a review. The game was quite the mindblowing experience. Ironically, I can list more cons than pros, because the game sure had many bad things. It probably makes you wonder how I can rate this game a 10 anyway. Well, what it does do, it does so well, that I'd actually wish I could rate it higher than a 10. Never, have I ever before, been blown away by a story, visuals, and soundtrack, as much as I have here. After finishing it, I just sat there... for hours. Thinking. Wondering. And I also cried like a **** Excuse my language.

    Now, let's list the cons.
    -Episode 2 was horrible. There. I said it. So many things that were too damn ridiculous. Not wanting to spoil anything, imagine having to show someone you can do 5 push ups, and then proceed to show how well you can use every singular muscle, required to do push ups, so the other person can see how you should be able to do push ups, WITHOUT ACTUALLY DOING PUSH UPS. Or something else ridiculous (which is not how it went): oh, you have a band aid in your hand? Might as well cut my hand, since you have a band aid. Like, what's with that logic?

    Episode 2 made me want to stop playing entirely. I am glad that, after a long time, I continued.
    -The puzzles are not that well done. There have been several puzzles where the answer was so dumb that, even though I thought of it at the beginning, it was dumbed down even more that the logic of it was missing. The solution to these problems is actually wrong.
    -The main event in one of the episodes is almost an exact copy of a movie. At least it was a good movie.
    -it's not clear how some things in the story will unfold. In general that's a good thing, but there is a case where something happens when you do something, but you have no clue there is something like that possible. Either you are just 'lucky' to get to it, or you first need to find out there is something like that by watching youtube.

    I can go on, but it will only prevent you from playing. You should ignore these cons and only read my first bit, because... you should just play it.    … Expand

    This game is a perfection in its own genre. If you like "choices matter" and "story rich" games, just buy the whole bundle. The epic ending of episode 5 is especially mind-breaking. Don't let the apparent, naive, teenage vibe fool you, it's a deep game.

    The story is custom tailored for this kind of genre and even though it might seem boring it really isnt.

    Absolutely Beautiful game. From the characters, to the story, to the gameplay, to the thematic graphics. It was a total joy and honorable pleasure to indulge myself in what I now consider, to be one of the greatest games of all time.

    This is the most emotionally powerful game I've played in a long time. Maybe ever. If you've ever wanted to feel nostalgia for something you haven't experienced, try this out.

    This is entertainment that I feel will stay with me for years, like great works of literature or movies - looking back at it, and your life.

    It is unbelievable how a game can have such power of immersion. First time i actually cried at a video game. It was a real escape from all the unexplained gore and violence in today's games. A masterpiece which will remain as an example as how a story-driven game should be constructed in order to wreak havoc into the mind of the player.

    Wonderful EXPERIENCE. More than any other game (and most films, for that matter) that I've played/seen in the last decade, Life is Strange pulled me in and kept me engaged through excellent imagery, acting, writing, and a perfectly synchronized, mood-setting soundtrack. Thank You to Square Enix and Dontnod for a job well done.

    I like Telltale games because of their story and the power to pull you in and care for the characters. But this game, I like it even more than TWD from Telltale. Obviously the theme is completely different but the main focus is on the characters just like in TWD.

    There are a lot of decisions you have to make. Different decisions lead you to different consequences. More interactivity in this game than in any TT game. You can control the MC pretty much from start to finish (without too many cinematics get in the way) so it gives you a feeling of greater involvement in anything that happens.
    Graphics is pretty nice.
    Not one dull moment I can remember. It grabbed my attention from the first moment and succeeded in keeping it until the closing credits. The game has a very immersive atmosphere.
    Controls are smooth as well.
    Overall everything works as it supposed to be. If the creators can keep this up with the upcoming episodes this is gonna be my favorite game of all time. Enough said.    … Expand

    Deep, touching, and unforgettable. I felt like all characters were real, I felt their anguish, I cried for them. I could give a higher score than 10, because this game is one of the best games of all time.

    At first I did not pay much attention, did not view any trailers and did not research anything on this game. I thought to myself: "Okay, it's only 20 bucks for 5 episodes, could be fun, I mean I liked games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, might as well give this game a try."

    So I bought this game and I'm so overwhelmed by greatness, I do love nearly everything about this    At first I did not pay much attention, did not view any trailers and did not research anything on this game. I thought to myself: "Okay, it's only 20 bucks for 5 episodes, could be fun, I mean I liked games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, might as well give this game a try."

    So I bought this game and I'm so overwhelmed by greatness, I do love nearly everything about this game, the plot, the characters, the atmosphere, hell gosh the soundtrack!
    Even though the Lyp-Sync is way off and there are some visual bugs like floating items (Can be fixed with future patches and is not game breaking), it deserves better reviews and ratings and it is my best pick of 2015 so far. In fact the only reason why sites like IGN gave this game a "6.5/10" is because this game has a very specific target audience, as for me, I'm totally one of the audience as someone who turned 18 this year and almost finished with school.
    I am so hyped for episode 3 which will be released in may and I am talking non-stop about the previous 2 episodes so far, I spend so many hours on talking with my friends about this awesome game.
    We (My friends and I) tried to analyse the game and understand what makes this a great game but it is nearly impossible to say specific things. Dontnod Entertainment really did a great job and for that price it's completely worth it,

    Brilliant! Long after finishing this I'm still thinking of the characters. Great story, leaves you wondering if you made the best choices. I ended up caring for my actions and treating people nice for the sake of characters and story, not some made-up punish/reward. 10/10.

    I didn't like this game because of how emotionally dragged I got into it (keep in mind I liked it, but hated the ending), and it probably got something to do with accidentally not saving Kate which I carefully picked dialogue in my second playthrough, but also the fact that I was expecting a happy game.

    I didn't come into a game where you play as an 18 year old girl who really likes photography expecting a sad game. But neither did Max, and so i'm raising this games rating, as it shows you simply can't save everybody.    … Expand

    Cons first. The lip sync problems and the slow movements can be a downside but the game simply blows off in other aspects. Amazing story, sound score and direction. Each episode had perfect cuts and i really loved the way each decision takes you within the game. Environmental art and the colors were also great.

    Just finished this. It was a really incredible experience. I love adventure games and this blew me away. This is the kind of game that really makes you appreciate video games as a medium for story telling, because you cannot get this experience anywhere else.

Important decisions throughout the game cause you to abuse Max's power and question your own decision making as it becomes apparent real quick that these decisions have CONSEQUENCES.

    While I can admit that I went into this game with a very "meh" mindset, the first episode grasped me in a way you can only explain by experience. Both Max and Chloe, while completely different in personality, really show how well they complete each other as best friends. It's these differences that allow themselves to help each other in areas of weakness, Max being more reserved and Chloe sometimes being even too reckless. Life is Strange is the kind of game that keeps me in gaming and remember that there are studios out there that still know how to tell a story.

    Can you enjoy a Telltale game? Then this game is for you. Even in a cruel world that is real life, Life is Strange brings a light that seems to seep through into the real world. Though this game can get dark, and I mean dark (oh lord we haven't even seen episode 5 yet!), the color and music brought to the world is quite fascinating. It's extremely difficult to give a game 10/10 for me, however Life is Strange has brought something to me that I haven't felt since The Last of Us and thus, I feel is deserving of my own 10/10 as that was the last game for me to receive such a score. While very different, they achieve the same in personal value and experience.

    Play this game... if you like a good story... if you like twists that'll make your head spin... or if you just want to play something that will change your thoughts on a few personal life decisions. This game has honestly changed mine and that's an experience I can always love.

    Great story that makes you care (I have replayed first episode - you'll know why). And gameplay that doesn't slow the story down just for sake of making game longer.

    A beautiful game in both a story and visual sense. Simple control mechanics and a user determined pace allow you to become invested with such ease that it's hard to stop playing and exploring every inch of Arcadia Bay. Amazing cast and a tear enduing score/soundtrack.

    If I could only recommend one game this year, it would be "Life Is Strange".

    - The choices you make in the game actually feel compelling. Even though the general outcome of the story will always be very similar, as in most choice heavy games, at least in this story, the choices dont feel 'tacked on"but actually part of the story.

    If I have to find some negative points, they would be very minor.
    - The facial animation of the characters could have been done better. Their lips dont move well with the dialogue at all, which detracts from the strength of the scenes a bit.
    - The 'freedom' which you get to explore the world is zero. But this is always a choice of storytelling over player freedom. I cannot blame the devs for making this choice, I actually prefer it. Not every game has to be open world. But it would have been nice for at least some freedom in exploring the map or something.

    Overall, I truly recommend this game. One of the best games I have ever played. If you love story-driven games, please give this game a shot!    … Expand

    A beautiful game with a fantastic story which maybe has not a lot of gameplay, but honestly, I don't think it needs more. The characters are charming, even if the most are the typical teenagers. Twisted, heartbreaking, disturbing, and even funny, this game is one of the best games I've played in PC. If you like games with great story, definitely check out this one.

The story is amazing no matter how you look at it. It's meticulously designed and lets the inner completionist indulge in every little convo that is available for Maximus to have. All the game mechanics have been done before (Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Walking Dead, etc..). Its NOT original just for those out there that praise its ingenuity, its just the way the game mechanics work with one another that makes it feel original. That being said, it does in no way take away from the game. It's like how everyone hates on quick time events. It only sucks if it ISN'T DONE RIGHT. Just look at Dragon's Lair for an proper example of quick time events done right. The characters were so developed it felt like you were participating in a movie which in some cases made this game a turn off for some gamers. I understand that everyone has their own idea of what makes a good game and what genre's each individual likes will be different. THAT DOESN"T MEAN THE GAME IS BAD! It just means you are not partial to the game style, so please don't come into a popular rating website and spam 0's across the board because you didnt like the style. Once again that's like rating art by tasting it....... it doesn't make sense.     And yes, there's plenty of drawbacks. In a game that is all about choices the story is very linear and hence number of choices is actually quite limited (and most of them do not change much). I guess it was simply far too difficult to fit such an amazing story into a non-linear world. The game does it's best to hide this problem and does it really, really well, but the problem is still there and it's visible sometimes. The visuals are nice, but character's faces in a game that is all about humans aren't visualized perfectly. The game deep immersion method means that when Max will be in trouble or frustrated, you'll be in trouble or frustrated as well (face a difficult or frustrating puzzles). But it all doesn't really matter. There's so much good in the game that all these problems are barely affecting gameplay after the few first hours. 11/10, it is sad that it'll be too difficult to expect another game that is that good anytime soon.    … Expand

    This game has the best story I've ever played. And the best characters. I thought the ending was a bit dodgy, but it has started to grow on me. All in all it's a beautiful game with fantastic characters, a great soundtrack and an awesome mood.

    Best Game I've ever Played, Story About Friendship, Mystery, All in one. the ending just right in feels. awesome soundtrack obstacles by syd matters. This game totally change my life :) Max

    This game is amazing. If you want an awesome story with tough life decisions that you will be emotionally involved in you must play it! I am simply amazed.

    This game gives you goosebumps. The first few episodes have a clear and followable storyline which lead to major plot twists in the last 2. Its giving you opportunities to get attached to all of its characters and make simple choices to help them...
    It reminded me a lot of Heavy Rain in the regard the story is told, but has fewer action sequences in it which makes it more of a playable    This game gives you goosebumps.     IMHO, one of the best storytelling in video games history. So compelling, so mature topics and with excellent cliffhangers at the end of each episode.

    FANTÁSTICO! O que dizer desse jogo incrível? Jogo muito legal, realmente eu me superei, um dos melhores jogos de escolha, sinceramente este jogo me fez gostar mais desse tipo de categoria, conheci e gostei do trabalho.

    this game has the best story i ever read and saw in any game or movie, also there r so many theories about it , everyday i find a new theory about it on youtube.

    Impossibly intense & affecting, Life Is strange is like a dream you don't want to wake up from.
    An addiction you don't want to recover from. Which stops time on both sides of the screen.

    Best narrative gaming experience of all time.

    Life Is Strange is an imperfect video game and the actual mechanics of playing it, including the time rewind, can become annoying of frustrating, especially when the development team tries to borrow from another genre. But the game makes it easy to create a connection with Max and to care about her choices and trials, a rare feat, and that means any fan of narrative-driven experiences should try it out to see how he deals with the feelings of the protagonist and the impact they have on Arcadia Bay.
