    More a gem than a game. A must for all people with a heart. LiS evokes feelings that are extremely rare in games. Just play it (1. LiS Before the Storm. 2. LiS).

    Bravo!!!! Deck Nine is a shining example of how to make a game based on a masterpiece. They defied all the odds and the risks and delivered something very special with the first episode. If you're a Chloe Price fan, you will love this prequel, Ashly Burch made a big mistake in not voicing Chloe, because now we have a better actress voicing her. Well done D9 and very well done Rhianna.

    I dare to say it is even better than original. No time-bending powers, great new mechanic, and most important of all - Chloe. Before playing this I was wary of Dontnod giving development to another studio (unnecessarily) and Chloe being the main character (alas). In Life is Strange she was bit one-dimensional - just a rebel. Here we see her in all her fragility. I didn't think I would sayI dare to say it is even better than original. No time-bending powers, great new mechanic, and most important of all - Chloe. Before playing this I was wary of Dontnod giving development to another studio (unnecessarily) and Chloe being the main character (alas). In Life is Strange she was bit one-dimensional - just a rebel. Here we see her in all her fragility. I didn't think I would say that but she is better as main than Max. Also few other characters are bit more complex and less cliche than in the original.

    Deck Nine did really great job with this one.

Мимо таких изумрудов игровой индустрии ни в коем случае не стоит проходить. Крайне рекомендую!

    I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the first game. The story is wonderful and emotional, the soundtrack is amazing just like in LiS season 1. I urge you to really give it a try. Deck Nine had spoken to us about their love for LiS and it shows in this game.

    The first episode of this prequel story starts off strong with its awesome atmosphere and backstory for Chloe, a character that if you played Life Is Strange Season 1, you will fall in love with. And while in Season 1, Chloe's backstory was mysterious and secret, here we start to see Chloe's life from a different angle and we can really appreciate that. It's very good and like Season 1,The first episode of this prequel story starts off strong with its awesome atmosphere and backstory for Chloe, a character that if you played Life Is Strange Season 1, you will fall in love with. And while in Season 1, Chloe's backstory was mysterious and secret, here we start to see Chloe's life from a different angle and we can really appreciate that. It's very good and like Season 1, emotional.. Although there is no ''rewind mechanic'' in Before The Storm, Deck Nine did such an amazing job and I am looking forward to the next episodes!
    Oh, and I can't understand why the PS4 reviewscore on this game is higher than here. :/    … Expand

    Imagining the challenge laid out for Deck Nine: Prequel. No time rewind mechanics. SAG strike stealing protagonists voice actor. Top standards set by original LiS. And what came out of it? I applaud. More than well done.

    It is the same old game, yet quite different. It feels more life like for me, and just from subjective
    perspective, Chloe as protagonist is more close to my heart, and Rachel as friend, or more... is breathtaking... mesmerizing... easily passing all expectations i had for her (from original) and exceeding them.

    To summarize:
    1. controls in BtS are IMO worse than old ones, i am mouse keyboard player.
    2. voice acting of Chloe is tiny bit worse, or appealing to my ears, but it is easily forgivable
    3. both games sux hard, being so short, practically i should give score 1 from desperation... jokes aside i would love to spend there way way more time (without any BS like selling extra episodes for extra special editions, etc... meh!) BtS being shorter - SUX
    4. i like music in BtS more, but its very subjective

    Most important thing i would love to note: Original LiS made me cry... so many times... Which is super rare thing, especially playing videogames. Before the Storm though - made me cry less times, yet still it did quite a bit - BUT it made me laugh so hard, probably most ever of all games. Original made me laugh only with Frank eating beans scene.

    PRO TIP Dont take BtS serious, and it will reward you... maybe even in serious manner.

    People should stop to compare this game with the original LiS always and always again. Although lt's tied close with LiS in a scenario and with the characters and the mainstory so it's still an other thing... its own thing. I see Before the Storm as an absolutely fantastic and magical storybased adventuregame that tells us "its own! story in its own way of theatre, of drama and poetry".People should stop to compare this game with the original LiS always and always again.     I just finished playing the Bonus Episode and I've been bawling my eyes out since.
    This game has a very special story telling which goes deep under the skin.
    Especially with Ashly Burch returning one last time as the voice of Chloe Price this last bonus episode made the whole game even better.

    Можно общаться со всеми спокойно, как Макс, а можно, как Хлоя Прайс, выбор очевиден. Множество положительных эмоций вызывает эта игра и не без причин. В ней остались лучшие черты 1-ой части: Музыка, хоть и изменила направление, но всё равно остаётся неотъемлемой    История о ещё юной Хлое Прайс и не сильно нам знакомой Рэйчел Эмбер.
    Настоящая дружба? Любовь? А может быть всё сразу?
    Можно общаться со всеми спокойно, как Макс, а можно, как Хлоя Прайс, выбор очевиден.

    Перепалки отлично дополняют образ Хлои и вносят в диалоги интерес.
    Вместо фотографий теперь немного другие предметы коллекционирования и они отображают внутренний бунт Хлои.
    Трагичность осталась, но в меньшей степени, как по мне.
    Я очень рад, что игра получилась не такая грустная, как первая часть.
    Были моменты, когда было печально, но всё же это Хлоя и смотря на её уверенное лицо, я понимал, что она справится.    … Expand

    I finished "Before the Storm" yesterday but I still can't get over the fact it is the end - no more Max and Chloe in my life. I think the best way to describe my feelings right now is to compare them to the feeling of losing a friend, a real friend in real world - I have never lost a friend in my life (until now) but I bet it feels exactly the same way. Of course the story is superb, theI finished "Before the Storm" yesterday but I still can't get over the fact it is the end - no more Max and Chloe in my life. I think the best way to describe my feelings right now is to compare them to the feeling of losing a friend, a real friend in real world - I have never lost a friend in my life (until now) but I bet it feels exactly the same way. Of course the story is superb, the graphics are cool, the music is excellent, the gameplay is perfect but I don't think I want to say much about it besides what I've already said - all what you need to know is the fact that by the end of the story you will see the main characters as your best friends - how many games can boast that?… Expand

    Life is Strange 1 being an amazing game, naturally it would be difficult for a prequel to live up to its name. And yet, Before the Storm does that brilliantly. It is absolutely a worthy prequel with new (and old) interesting characters, twists and an emotional story. Especially when you consider the events of the first game, which makes everything more tragic. Damn, it hit me hard. ThisLife is Strange 1 being an amazing game, naturally it would be difficult for a prequel to live up to its name. And yet, Before the Storm does that brilliantly. It is absolutely a worthy prequel with new (and old) interesting characters, twists and an emotional story.     Because I just recently discovered and finished LIS I immediately jumped to BTS. A prequel rarely works this good. This game is also demanding, the musical score, the story, and the dynamic between the two main characters, plus the chemistry is fantastic. Very emotional and lifelike story. It is a must if you enjoyed LIS1. The voice acting of the main characters are praiseworthy. Episode2Because I just recently discovered and finished LIS I immediately jumped to BTS.     The latest game in the series, Tell me Why, got another name but I know too well it derives from

It's more of a cinematic game, with a beautiful soundtrack, just like the first game. if you are interested in playing this game, you have most likely already played the first game, meaning you're gonna spend most of the time with a lump in your throat, considering the huge amount of foreshadowing.     I’m really amazed by the fact that Chloe has no super natural power yet the story feels soo strong. A good prequel for a wonderful game

    It's rare that a prequel truly works, where a story can captivate despite the audience knowing what's coming and where the path will lead. Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is one of those exceptional stories because it draws you in on its own terms. The only problem: You know it's building you up just to break your heart.

    Life indeed is strange. I was dead certain that Before the Storm simply cannot be good, but it turned out just fine. It’s really well-written, with fleshed out characters and some humor here and there. I applaud the writers for ditching science fiction elements, but I wish BtS was as good a thriller as it is a love story. [03/2018, p.58]

    Deck Nine have finished off Life is Strange in sterling fashion. Saying farewell to Arcadia Bay with Before the Storm is sad, but the best farewells usually are.
