Lacks everything that made the first game great! Boring 'road trip' story with annoying brat, every episode is in another place with different characters, no build up. Their attempt at creating an emotionally gripping moment didn't work! By the time the next episode releases i will have forgotten about the previous one.

Storyline, acting, graphics. It is all just subpar. Clichés all over the place. While the main idea is interesting execution is blatantly obvious and predictable. At least they handle snow well.

One I the most boring games I've ever played. Completely the opposite of the original Life is Strange series. During escaping, they live a normal boring life so player has to search for things like a towel, have a bath, visit shops - the things everyone is doing everyday and hope to escape from by playing a game. Sometimes the player has a choice like selecting a Xmas present. He needs to chose wisely, because it later changes the 3D model given to Daniel. Unlike original series, no emotional bonds are created, no surprises. The game is so boring they should pay players for finishing it. It is sadly a loss of potential, because otherwise it is nice-done graphically, there are quite good animations and narrative, just the story and the whole idea is bad. :( Expand

Weak story and oppression of minorities. Just as in episode 1. I do not understand who might like it.

This story is so bad and mainstreamed. Stereotype Character and boring storytelling. What the hell is wrong with Dontnot? This game is not compared with LIS1 and Before The Storm.

Here we go again, another utterly disappointing episode of such a (used to be) great franchise. I feel bad for those who try this out before trying the first game, if they will even try the first game after playing this... I feel bad for those who try this out before trying the first game, if they will even try the first game after playing this... Which is a shame because the first game, even with its flaws, was one of the best experience of mine when it comes to storytelling games. It made me care about the characters, it showed real life situations, it gave us an exciting time travel mechanic, it gave us great puzzles, interesting plot and great conversations... But let's talk about this one...

Characters: I don't care about them. I don't care if Daniel Skywalker the force user of the franchise dies. I don't care about the character we play, i don't even remember his name.

Plot: We, part of a minority, running away from the cops and everyone thinks we are killers because... we are mexicans... the racism agenda in this game is way overexaggerated. I can't take it seriously because it's laughably bad. We are talking about 2 kid for christ sake... Did they even investigated on the scene? I don't think so.

The conversations are bad, they are not important, they are boring and they don't change the story at all, choices have no consequences. Do you guys remember Kate Marsh from the first game. Now THATS what all storytelling games should have. Now that was some heavy consequence and it was brilliant and i felt like sh*t when i failed to save her. There? Captain Spirit gets hit by a car because his dumb*ss runs in front of it because dumb*ss young skywalker lied to him.... I was so not impressed its not even funny. I didn't care at all, because most likely that kid won't be part of the upcoming story episodes anyway.

Puzzles in this game are almost non existent and the existing ones... i don't know what to say. Find a key? Really? Oh but wait, i can talk to young Skywalker to use the force and open the door anyway.

Young skywalker... Who thought giving the special ability to the character we can't play was a good idea? It's terrible. It's young skywalker's story and we are just making not important decisions for him...

The game is full of bugs, camera, visual, audio bugs, the game suddenly crashing for people and they lose their save. All that after waiting for like... 3-4 months?

I'm really disappointed and the next episode will be their last chance for me to get their stuff together because if that's going to be as bad as the first two episodes... I'm not willing to pay for that and i'm not willing to play that. I want to keep my good memories about the first Life is Strange and Life is Strange: Before the Storm. To be honest, at this point i'm pretty sure that it's going to be bad, but i just want to give them one more chance...

The best case scenario for them would be cancelling the story of young skywalker and the whole game, and start all over again and give us the story of Max and Chloe again... You know... What everyone wanted.

In hindsight I should not have given the first episode a zero because this episode is even worse than the first one.
Boring storyline, still boring and largely characters you can´t relate to, still full of false choices changing nothing except the final cutscene of the episodes. The characters still make terribly stupid choices you can´t avoid.

But the real problem is that they took four months to release this and it still is full of bugs ranging from graphical errors to sound errors that force you to restart the game to your saves being deleted!

And if that weren´t bad enough they do not sell episode on it´s own, Forcing you to buy the whole season, which will be complete in or close to 2020.

Ugly protagonists and no gay romance equals ZERO score. This game can't hold a candle to LiS1.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The second episode sadly cannot match the quality of the first one.

As a player you don't feel like you are able to influence the story in a meaningful way if you do not count the very last scene of the episode. An example for this is the way the police gets the information about Sean and Daniel's location: If you do use the phone or the laptop that is the reason the police comes. If not they use the fact that you have been seen at the Christmas market. The player is not able to decide whether to go there or not. Another one would be the way your reactions to Daniel influence the story: The game allows you to remind Daniel multiple times not to use his forces publicly. Even if you do it every single time he ends up showing them to another boy. This is the case for many of the choices the game lets you make; for most ones it feels like they don't affect anything.

Life is Strange is at it's best when causing great emotions with it's story and it's plot twists. With the exception of the last scene that feeling is almost never present. For example the dog comangion is killed at the beginning of the episode. This death does not serve the story a little bit and just feels like it is just there to have another "Life is Strange emotional moment". Introducing a character just to kill it off emotionally is just bad story telling.

The story the developers try to tell inherently has the problem that there are no characters beside the brothers that can be around for too long. But the way you interact with characters and build relations with those was a core part of the first season and made it that great. Compared to that season the second one also does not present you a clear goal you try to achieve: Getting to Mexico never feels like a viable solution for the situation and you are never able to think or theorize how the story might go which makes it far less immersive.

The graphical quality though is, excluding some visual glitches, very good and the art style is always spot on. Character animation and voice acing is also good.

Lastly the second episode was in development for over 4 months which is a pretty long time span for an episode based game. You don't remember much of the story or the decisions you made in prior episodes. Also there were numerous bugs in the Christmas market scene which include invisible characters and frozen characters. Something like that isn't really acceptable after such a long development phase.

Wow! This is even better than the fist one. The story itself is still standing strong, but I'm especially surprised about how noticeable my actions impacted the story towards the end. The only thing I can complain about is the continuous mixed acting of the main character Sean. Still don't like that people are giving the title 0/10 solely because of the "racist" political messages. There is no more or less "extreme" political messages in this game than in like every movie ever. It's not hurting anyone and I must say one have to be kinda soft to get really offended by this.

Overall enjoyed it. Waiting for next episode!

I love Life is Strange 2 so far. The story is amazing, the decisions do have consequences. I couldn't ask for anything more. I actually love Life is Strange 2 the best out of the series.

Giving a 0 to a game because you don't like the different characters and their views introduced to a game is weak. This episode is slower than the previous one, but still good. The story is much more beliveable than the one in LiS1. I can recommend it to every LiS fan out there :3

Life Is Strange 2: Episode 2 is a disappointment. While it contains a number of revelatory moments and a couple of scenes that pack real tension, thanks to its lousy pacing and absence of agency, only the most committed fans of this series are advised to pick it up. Here’s hoping Episode 3 picks up the pace.
