    I'm a young girl and just totally fell in love with this game. It's so charming, but also sometimes cringy, but then again just funny and lovely. I'm not familiar with the old games to be honest, so I'm not even nostalgic!

    Larry is back: the real oldschool Larry with fun puzzles and nice 2D graphics. Recommended for retro-fans like me.

    Favorite Thing: Surprising, it's a sold adventure game!
    Least Favorite Thing: Suffers from my least favorite adventure game problem of "too much junk" syndrome.

    Great game, a classic game with refreshing things. Logic and well done puzzles. High recomendable if you like old school games.

    This newest additiion to the Larry series is great. IT finally goes back to the roots and delivers a charming and funny game.
    It's hard not to laugh with all the subtle and more often not so subtle hints to existing persons, companys, apps
    Everyone who likes point and click adventures should be playing this. It's not like humor filled ones are abundant these days.

    So far I love it. It's funny, challenging and it feels exactly like playing the old games outside of some modern gameplay improvements (ie: fast travel, better controls, graphics, etc) which are a welcome improvement. Easily my favorite one.

    If you: 1. want a game that is for soy boys and betas -- play this game. 2. hate women -- play this game. This game will make you hate women even more because they all abuse Larry to the point of absurdity. The fails in this game are as painfully unfunny as the Screwnicorn. 3. have at least 49% of your brain missing, removed or damaged -- play this game. The jokes in this game are almostIf you: 1. want a game that is for soy boys and betas -- play this game. 2. hate women -- play this game. This game will make you hate women even more because they all abuse Larry to the point of absurdity. The fails in this game are as painfully unfunny as the Screwnicorn. 3. have at least 49% of your brain missing, removed or damaged -- play this game. The jokes in this game are almost literally visible from space. (dude, we replaced one letter in Queen, that's funny, right?) 4. are an NPC or SJW or beta -- play this game. This game has plenty of "ORANGE MAN BAD" "humor" in it. 5. think gays are perfect or walk on water -- play this game. This actually is redundant a little bit because I already said about missing at least 49% of your brain. Over 1/3 of the game is getting together a gay male couple and being preached to about it. You spend a good three hours getting together "Dick and Lance". 6. are on parole after spending time for abusing living creatures -- play this game. This game treats Larry so badly it's like hearing the pained screams of innocent animals. 7. are part of the "Me Too" movement -- play this game. The ending of this game is literally so disappointing it ruins the game entirely, and that's one of the reasons I'm writing what I am. Also Larry defiles a body double of one character after dressing him up as a chicken. (yes, I said him)
    8. are cruel, mean and sadistic -- play this game. Overall, it's about as funny as a guy who tapes your eyes open and makes you watch as your entire family (including pets) are ground through a meat grinder for six hours and then pats you on the back and says "Awhh, cheer up, buddy. Tell you what. I'll make you a burger". 9. are looking for actual humor -- don't play this game. There are exactly two lines in this game that made me laugh -- the first involved Larry talking about something "Chattering in his pants" and the second was regarding the idea that by 2000, we'd be living on the moon. These lines are genuinely funny. the rest of it is either beta male humor by watching too much Samantha Bee, semi-relevant pop culture references (see? We mentioned Schezuan Sauce. We can be funny) or old archaic style of humor that worked in the 1980s because of a lack of sexy games on the market but hasn't aged well.

    Literally the developer even said the women who were on the development team wanted more nudity than the game had. The decision to make this game as dumb and unsexy as it was belonged to the beta males who programmed this then went home and each one of them shaved their wife's boyfriend's pubes with a Gillette razor. Keep in mind, they were forced to take out a scene where Larry had performed oral sex on a demon statue right when he got arrested.    … Expand

    Although sometimes the humor is less sophisticated than the original games, this new Leisure Suit Larry adventure is a return to form for the character. A thoroughly enjoyable adventure game that is full of clever puzzles and funny characters. If you are a fan of the old adventure games, give this game a go, you wont regret it.     Rather positively surprised about the game. Don’t trust the negative user scores, especially the guy with the 3 point negative. I know for a fact from an adventure game forum that he didn’t even play the game. Regrettably I had posted about the release and he immediately rejected it without playing a single second (apparently just by looking at screenshots and a trailer he "knows" thatRather positively surprised about the game. That his "review" is the most liked here really says a lot about the intelligence and niveau of a lot of Metacritic users ...

    It’s also pretty suspicious that - apart from Fuz’ fake review - none of the negatives are able to back up their score with any reasons - A few accounts just have voted the game and most positive reviews down with very little effort. Before this it had 7.5 user score - similar to the critic’s average. Make of that what you will ... The game‘s certainly no masterpiece but just giving a terrible score from screenshots or because it doesn‘t have pixel graphics like LSL from the 80‘s is a crappy thing to do.

    Anyway, didn‘t expect too much when I first heard of it but in the end LSL: Wet Dreams Don‘t Dry has become a very decent classic Point’n’click adventure with a neatly balanced puzzle difficulty, quirky characters and for the most part a funny story.

    I also liked the in-game time jump from 1987 to 2018 which has resulted in the game being full to the brim with witty references to our modern social media culture but also plenty of nods to the older LSL games (eg it‘s possible to die - thanks to autosave without much consequences though, there‘s a section that plays and looks similar to the first Larry game etc).

    Pros:
    - Plenty of classic (inventory-based) puzzles with usually perfectly balanced difficulty.
    - As long as you pay attention and revisit locations/NPCs help from a walkthrough should hardly ever be necessary.
    - Long playing time, especially for an adventure (~15 hours)
    - Easy, efficient controls
    - Great gameflow, you usually always know what has to be done next in order to further the story
    - Nice humor with lots of funny cultural references
    - World is full of positively weird and quirky NPCs
    - A lot of usable items, which speaks for the great variety in puzzles and quests. Of course the size of the game’s inventory can look intimidating as it blows up quickly at first. You sometimes have 20 items or more. It usually gets obvious what to use where and when though which is a very impressive feat imo considering the item count.
    - Story stays interesting up until the last chapter, as you just want to help Larry getting his "Timber" score to 90

    Cons:
    - Some errors with the English Localization. Most are just smaller spelling, grammatical errors but there are also instances where the text doesn’t match the spoken word. For example, one bouncer says Larry can only enter his club when his Timber score is at least 25. In the subtitles it says 40 though.
    - The German voice of Larry doesn’t fit at all and his lines often lack any emotion. Even though he’s the German voice of Barney Stinson of HIMYM, he didn’t do a very good job in this game and it doesn’t sound as if he felt like making a lot of effort.
    - Because of this I switched to English after a while (which is pretty rare for me with a game from a German developer). But the English speaker does a much better job, the only drawback being that his high pitched voice doesn’t fit the new taller, leaner version of Larry as much anymore. Luckily, most of the other characters are voiced fittingly and flawlessly though.
    - Even though it‘s rarely necessary as long as one pays attention to dialogue and surroundings, some people might be deterred by the lack of a hint system.
    - The humor and Larry’s sexual innuendos probably aren’t for anybody, especially today. But he’s a guy from the 80s who overslept the past 30 years after all.
    - The game loses steam at the end, especially after you reached the 90 points "Timber" score. Puzzles get very easy in the last hour or so and the conclusion of the story is rather silly and unsatisfying.

    The first cons can probably be explained by limited budget and time constraints. All in all LSL: WDDD is an above average classic Point’n’click adventure with very good production value, an amusing story and funny characters. The devs showed a great love for details and packed the game with challenging, yet still logical puzzles. For anybody who likes classic, puzzle-heavy Point’n’Click adventures - games in the vein of Monkey Island or some of the titles from Daedalic for example - this is a must buy.    … Expand

This always leads to frustrating moments when you combine all kinds of items only to find out that you can't find the required items yet and as soon as you finally get into a new area, the required items literally fly towards you without any enjoyable effort.     This was an okay little game. I enjoyed the sexual puns and the making fun of our current society, even tough I did find the humor a bit too juvenile at times. It was fun to play Larry again in a classic point-and-click fashion and the voice acting (aside from Larry himself) was pretty well done. Better, in fact, than in a AAA game like Skyrim.

    That being said, I absolutely hated    This was an okay little game. I enjoyed the sexual puns and the making fun of our current society, even tough I did find the humor a bit too juvenile at times. It was fun to play Larry again in a classic point-and-click fashion and the voice acting (aside from Larry himself) was pretty well done. Better, in fact, than in a AAA game like Skyrim.

    That being said, I absolutely hated Larry's over the top silly voice. I understand this was done deliberately, but I just hated it. And the puzzles in this game, like in most adventure games, were very bad. The usual moon logic clicking-on-everything-until-it-works fare is present here, although towards the end of the game things get incredible easy.

    Also bad was the story. Why is there even a story here in the first place? If it was just Larry trying to get laid it would have been better because the overarching story was poorly done and made no sense at all.

    As far as it's adult nature goes, it was all very tame. Larry games in the past have been raunchier and I think this could have been a little more raunchy as well. Also the cartoon style of the ladies didn't really making things more 'erotic'. In fact the girls in the original "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards" actually looked more appealing.

    I would only recommend this game for nostalgic reasons and some fun (sexual) humor. As far as gameplay is concerned it fails and it's ultimately an entirely forgettable little game.    … Expand

    I love point and click adventures. They were the first games I obsessed over back in the days of Sierra. Interesting puzzles, cheesy humour, memorable characters, and surprisingly well thought through and interesting plots. The original LSL games fell into this bracket. This game does not. The plot is boring, and tries to tackle the idea that the world has moved on from the homophobic,I love point and click adventures.     Even if you ignore the games cultural blindness... it’s a TERRIBLE point and click adventure game. There are no ‘puzzles’ just back and forth trips to use item on other item. And A LOT of these ‘puzzles’ are completely stupid. They are either so insanely obvious that completeibgbtgevtask feels like a chore, or so completely obscure (no clues) that the only way to move forward is to test every single combination of items.

    I have no idea how this game is rated as high as it currently is - it is the sort of game that gives point and click adventures a bad name and buried the genre.    … Expand

    The premise and story are offering some great comedy, parody and poking at the current generations and ways of dating. Problem arises at the fact that the game mostly does only that and does not delve any deeper into the possible hilarity of it all. As for the gameplay its the every day standard point and click adventure fare. If you are new to the series its a great simple and fun start.

    Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don't Dry is a good start to a potential comeback for the series. The return to the classic point-and-click formula is appreciated, even if some of the puzzle solutions can be obscure. The humor could be much better, but some of the jokes do stick, and the presentation is decent. Franchise fans will enjoy this title if they won't miss the original creator's nuances.
