This is a guideline for how to properly review games. Many reviewers like to get a “feel” for a game, and arbitrarily give a game a score that they believe it deserves. This results in wildly different scores between different reviewers, and vastly different scores between similar games. This guideline addresses these problems and scores games fairly and consistently. This guideline also gives scores that are usually similar to the metacritic score.

The review score is based out of 10 points. There are no “half” or 0.5 increments. It is impossible to have a score above 10 or below 0. The review score will change as the game gets new dlc, drops in price, or if more secrets are found through the game increasing its appeal.

The scoring is split into 6 sections. The first five sections can add a possible 2 points to the final score. The first 5 sections are Single Player/Multi Player, Gameplay, Visuals/Story, Accessibility/Longevity, and Pricing.

Notice that 3 of these sections have two parts. These particular sections will be scored based on the stronger part of the game of the two. For example, if a game has a lousy single player campaign, but an excellent multiplayer component, that section will be based solely on the multiplayer as if the single player did not exist. This allows games to be based on their own merits, as many unnecessary features are shoehorned into video games by publishers to reach a “feature quota”. Games that excel in both areas of a section don’t receive should be noted in the written review, but cannot increase the score past 2 in that section. However, it can be taken into account in the final section

The final section can add 1, add 0, or subtract 1 to the final score. This final section is the “wildcard” section. This section is for how the reviewer “feels” about the game, but limits this only to this section, rather than the entire 10 point review. This section can include any positive or negative point that was not covered in the previous 5 sections.

The only fun part about this game is to dick around on the overworld. Well, that & running into all the glitches this game provides: From floating NPCs, crappy collision detecting, & too many more to count, it's always a good time.

While the story mode of the game is disappointingly short and the gameplay can be quite repetitive, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a video game that any Marvel fan would love to play with its impressive open-world, replayable levels and side quests to continue playing the game after finishing the story mode.

As a returning member of some of the older LEGO games, this game is a hell of a lot of fun. I like the dedication to the old school couch co-op gameplay. But, there are still issues: 1. The writing is weak. I like the dedication to the old school couch co-op gameplay. But, there are still issues: 1. The writing is weak. The voice actors aren't great, but if the writing is weak then no great voice actor can make it sound good, as some heroes are written out of character (Iron Man is the biggest example, or overdoing Thor's style of dialect). I'm a fan of the older games, where no spoken lines were said and funny facial expressions and sounds made the story hilarious. 2. The structure of the levels feels very identical, even though the variety of characters needed to find all of the secret paths and unlockables is a great positive. 3. Another big issue I had was the camera. I was playing on the PC with my girlfriend using PS4 controllers, and the camera seemed to be completely broken on some of the levels. Besides those negatives, this game is a great amount of fun. A massive roster of 155 characters suits this game perfectly. There are numbered distinct abilities for all of the heroes, but every character manages to feel slightly different from the other, with some having exclusive powers none of the cast have. The open world portion of New York, while small, is another nice touch. Again, despite its size, the map feels bigger because there is always something to do in the area you're in. There are a bunch of mini games, extras and side missions to find here, which adds a lot for completionists. Speaking of that, there are a ton of extras to keep you playing this game well beyond the 10 or so hours the main story is going to take you, nearly tripling your time spent on this game. Overall, a very good package worth your money, despite some rough edges. Expand

The huge selection of great characters is scrumptiously entertaining from start to finish. Too bad it's a Lego game. [March 2014, p.74]

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes didn't step out of the Lego specimen, which, however, does not prevent it to offer a splendid gaming experience, especially in its cooperative multiplayer game. Moreover, this is one of the best games out there you may leave to your children without any concern.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a good game that generates a lot of fun. Unfortunately in comparison with two previous LEGO games it doesn't look that great. This "brick Marvel" is one of the best recent superhero games, but at the same time is a mediocre "LEGO platformer" game. Comic book fans should be pleased with Traveller's Tales' effort, but LEGO fans should keep playing The Lord of the Rings.
