Oct 11, 2022Since solving Lego-based puzzles is at the forefront, Bricktales doesn’t feel like it’s aimed directly at the younger crowd; the sometimes difficult-to-solve conundrums might turn kids off. There is plenty for them to get into, like collecting in-game items or the Lego player customization. The physics-based puzzles to solve were excellent; some were easy, and others were a challenge, but all were rewarding. Even with the challenge, Lego Bricktales is the closest I’ve come to feeling like I was playing with physical Lego bricks. Playing Lego Bricktales is not the same as sitting on your bedroom floor and letting your imagination run wild, but it’s close.

Oct 13, 2022Lego Bricktales returns the IP to its block-placing origins with fun puzzles that can certainly challenge the mind. While it doesn't allow you to do whatever you want, the satisfaction that comes with problem-solving each puzzle is quite notable.

Oct 12, 2022Lego Bricktales is the type of game that completely fills you with nostalgic joy. Every time you go into the building mode it feels like opening a new lego set you just bought. Every time you jumble around the world it feels like playing with all your Legos in you tiny kids’ bedroom. This game made me think hard about the physics-based Lego construction work I had to do and motivated me to think outside of the “blocks”. It’s fun, addicting, full of great humor and despite minor issues I had with the game, I must recommend this to every Lego fan.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales is exactly the kind of game you would expect as both a work of Thunderful Games and a product of the LEGO brand. Seeing your creations come to life, even visually sickening ones, is a rewarding experience and a must-play for LEGO enthusiasts.

Oct 12, 2022Being a slightly less-than-perfect approximation of building with Lego bricks still means it is almost perfect, though, and that's remarkably impressive. While some of the build challenges feel repetitive and the controls can be fiddly, this is a great concept executed well, and pays respectful homage to the classic toy. Lego Bricktales sets a new template for what a Lego game can be, and I'd love to see developer Clockstone build on it even more.

Oct 12, 2022LEGO Bricktales feels like a short vacation to your childhood if you grew up with games like LEGO Island. The cubicle worlds look stunning, and the gameplay offers a nice and balanced mix between exploration and building. However, the game is a bit too short and too easy and would benefit from a full sandbox mode.
-
Oct 11, 2022Despite its flaws, LEGO Bricktales is a game many will love as it lets you experience the magic of LEGO without needing to go out and buy your own plastic bricks to play with.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales is puzzler that takes you back to the early days of LEGO, when the freedom to build want you want took centre stage. There're plenty of opportunities to build, explore, and bask in the gentle humour that we could all do with a little more of.
-
Oct 11, 2022Lego Bricktales is a breath of fresh air, and a tremendous surprise. It’s not the longest experience in the world – but I loved every minute of it, and still feel compelled to go back and improve some of my less satisfying builds. Tricky controls be damned – it’s a low-key game of the year contender.

Nov 8, 2022In all LEGO: Bricktales is a charming foray into a plastic moulded world. Creativity is encouraged, but players are more than free to blitz through with whatever roughshod constructions that they are able to make, allowing for some hilarity when people either question the quality of a painstakingly built bridge or compliment the artistry in a hastily constructed helicopter. For anyone that is a fan of LEGO, character creation, or questionable engineering, this isn’t a game to miss despite its few flaws.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales is the way LEGO video games should be conceptualized. A meditative, yet intoxicating building experience that truly relies itself on the physical reliability of our creations. It is the kind of adventure that brings generations together, having fun and sharing experiences through their favourite passions.
-
Nov 3, 2022LEGO: Bricktales manages to be fun despite some structural shakiness.
-
Oct 19, 2022LEGO Bricktales is a creative concept that takes advantage of the brand on which it is based. The way it transported us back to childhood to reconnect with our inner child and remember how we build fantastic things is brilliant. We highly recommend it for anyone who wants to relax for a while.
-
Oct 19, 2022A good Lego adventure that finally takes a playful look at the creative clamping block values.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales it's not the usual LEGO game. It's more simpler, and put the focus on the construction, more than action or platforming. The problem is that all feels simple, and the main star, the construction, it's a little bit cumbersome and have its share of flaws. But if you like LEGO for the pure construction, you will enjoy it.
-
Oct 24, 2022LEGO Bricktales cleverly combines familiar LEGO construction play patterns with an all-new exploratory experience. Although the exploration segments feel a bit too aged-down for this tired millennial’s tastes, the construction is delightfully challenging and exactly what I would have hoped to see in a LEGO game. If you want great LEGO prompts and don’t mind extremely linear (yet still charming) storytelling or are a literal child, LEGO Bricktales is here to unlock your wildest imaginations.
-
Oct 18, 2022The of Lego Bricktales is solid and simple. It is that you can feel the joy of assembling Lego by playing a videogame. Also, it is highly immersive! However, even though it is a game that requires assembly, there are many aspects that are lacking in terms of convenience and controls.
-
Oct 12, 2022Net of numerous positive aspects, such as the art direction, the level design or the humor that permeates the adventure, LEGO Bricktales unfortunately presents itself as an imperfect product. While representing the only major lack, the complicated control system that distinguishes the construction phases significantly inhibits the pleasure of the experience. A doubly unpleasant circumstance, given that the puzzles and puzzles proposed by the creative phases are genuinely stimulating and varied. As can be easily understood, given the belonging of the game to the LEGO franchise, the moments that require you to assemble the bricks to proceed in the adventure represent in fact the founding core of the production. This circumstance forces us against our will to penalize a title whose concept and creative potential would have deserved more.
-
Oct 12, 2022LEGO Bricktales deserves credit for trying new things and incorporating the core building experience into gameplay, but the game doesn't quite hit the mark when it comes to polish. That said, if you're willing to be patient with it, there is fun to be had. It's just not as direct as putting together an actual LEGO set.
-
Oct 12, 2022A title for everyone, sometimes a bit simplistic, sometimes very inventive. The title remains a pure pleasure for any Lego fan, even without the usual humor.
-
Oct 12, 2022LEGO Bricktales can often get in its own way, but it’s still a fun adventure that breathes new life into what a LEGO game can look like.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales is a pleasant creative adventure which allows us to stimulate our ingenuity, but unfortunately its own gameplay stops the game's potential.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales offers a building adventure in the style of the famous toy franchise.
-
Oct 11, 2022Lego Bricktales could be up your street depending on what you’re looking for. If you want a simple action adventure like so many other Lego titles then this isn’t for you. However, if you want a unique puzzle game that uses Lego elements well then you’ll find more here to enjoy. The main thing that lets it down is the clunky control system and the variable difficulty means younger players hoping for a building game will likely end up frustrated. The environmental puzzles you’ll need to solve to collect everything can also get very repetitive. Overall though it’s a fairly average game that offers a decent-length story mode, some interesting puzzles, and a few extras for those who want them. Now if you’ll excuse me I have a pirate ship ride to build.
-
Oct 11, 2022LEGO Bricktales, much like the similar LEGO Builder's Journey, is a great little puzzle game that provides a real sense of LEGO building to the player. The customization and cute story keep the game interesting and the sandbox mode is a great way to practice building real LEGO sets. There is never just one specific answer to a puzzle and mixing things up makes for a fun and enjoyable game that would work for LEGO fans of any age.
-
Oct 11, 2022Lego Bricktales is a relaxing and entertaining way to spend your time that does manage to recreate that tranquil vibe of building something, anything, out of Lego. It has its appeal and that's not weighed down too heavily by the lackluster exploratory parts, but with a little more attention it could've really explored what it means to play with Lego bricks creatively.
-
Nov 1, 2022Developer ClockStone gave this a good effort, but there wasn't enough in LEGO Bricktales to keep me feeling interested. Even the story, which is typically a franchise strong suit felt underwhelming with half-hearted humor and nothing really memorable. That's not to say there isn't a foundation for something better in the future. The concept of using LEGO building to progress and doing it in your own way is a strong one, but without better tools, like blueprints and the like, the novelty wears off quickly. For now, LEGO Bricktales is a fun curiosity and little more than that.
