Oct 15, 2014For dungeon crawler fans, you're simply not going to get any better than this. Clever puzzles, easy inventory system, expanded characters and fighting options - everything you could possibly want. Nice graphics upgrade since the first game too. Really enjoyable and at 1/4 the cost of a big-name release game.

Oct 15, 2014Phenomenally challenging, insanely addictive and ridiculously entertaining. Its refreshing to play a game that actually makes you think when the majority of today's games are hellbent on doing the opposite. Thank you Almost Human - you folks get it.
-
Oct 15, 2014its a great game. It has more character classes, new weapons, dual wielding and it adds a new race! This is a game you'll definitely play if you like old school dungeon crawlers.

Oct 30, 2014Good stuff. More environment variety, challenging, great puzzles and map design, bosses are cool with emphasis on positioning. Unexpected bonus: AMAZING sound quality. Use a pair of good headphones, you won't regret it. Very solid sequel.

Jun 23, 2015This game is so cute. Very interesting mechanics and tone of puzzles. Level are huge, compared to Grimrock 1. Had fun with this one. Good work, can't wait for next one.

May 16, 2015Found the first one absolutely brilliant, and this has improved on that.
Didn't try and do what many sequels do, it stayed true to what made it so popular the first time and enhanced and tweaked it.
Fans of the first MUST play this and anyone looking for a dungeon crawler with RPG elements should give this a go. -
Dec 13, 2015Could you ask for more from the game? No. Epic loot, involved character building in the context of meaningful team/party development, interconnected level design, unique enemies and challenges, intense dungeons, excellent graphics and ambiance. As a negative, some puzzles are obscure and paths/treasures hidden by unclear means; but, overall, I highly recommend.

Jun 4, 2015Oh, like it so much. Good Grafik for Oldschool Gamer. The Game has no Problems with Win 8.1. Should thought to play Wizardry 8,2. But this is better. The Riddles are a littke hard.

Jan 27, 2016Unforgiving - sure, frustrating - sometimes but always lovable. The old tabletop roleplayer in me gets his nostalgia medicine with this game: nothing is left to random dungeon generation but instead every item and location is scripted with painstaking attention to detail.

Oct 18, 2014Haven't had this much fun in a dungeon crawler since 2001. Never played the first one, but am gonna play this one for months, for sure. I love the simple but interesting custom party settings.

Oct 15, 2014Imagine Legend of Grimrock with Myst-like exploration and puzzle solving on a world with similar level deisgn to the first Dark Souls; This is Legend of Grimrock II, a true masterpiece that improves drastically over it's predecessor (which is a fantastic dungeon crawler per se). Buy it!

Oct 16, 2014It's one of the original RPG Games.
It has Action, Suspense, Puzzles, Monsters. This Game is hard to Master. It's for Players they want a real challenge. You must use you Brain to survive and yes often your Sword or Magic. ;) -
Oct 17, 2014LoG2 is a dream come true. Pure RPG fun, indeed. Newcomers should take some time and adjust to the controls and overall feel of the game mechanics, so that they can properly enjoy the game in all its splendor. Well done again, Almost Human.

Nov 29, 2014I love this game
It's hard to believe you could improve in anyway on the first, but they did!
the combat is so strategic and polished, now i'm just waiting for the third game -
Dec 12, 2014Absolutely amazing game from the guys who brought you Legend of Grimrock. Although I thought there wouldn't be a sequel they managed to top themselves and bring out this jewel of an indie game.
The puzzles are great, the combat has depth and is very dynamic, and overall clearing an area full of monsters and mysteries feels really rewarding. Easily worth sinking tens of hours into. -

Oct 15, 2014I can fondly remember the days of playing the first Wizardry on an Apple Ii. LOG I and now II certainly bring back fond memories. Outdoor areas, character creation options, and a detailed map are a few of the things that caught my attention during the brief time playing it. For fans of the old RPGs I would certainly recommend it. And best of all it can be had for next to nothing.!

Nov 4, 2014More of the same, a pretty good old school RPG. New classes aren't enough to make it an all time classic in my opinion, but it's a solid game. I still prefer Eye of the Beholder, though.

Jan 4, 2015Not only does this game offer a good challenge with difficult puzzles and dangerous enemies, but it is also incredibly rewarding. This is the kind of game that is very possible to beat without looking up a walk-through. If you want it to be harder though, the game gives you that opportunity in many places. This is most certainly the best game that came out in 2014.
-
Oct 25, 2014Addictive. Well thought out. Respects your intelligence. Brilliant level design. I have not played a game like this for something like 20 years, going back to Eye of the Beholder and Black Crypt on the Amiga, and this game has given me that dungeon crawling bug again.
-
Oct 17, 2014pros: bigger, better, harder, with more variety and puzzle challenges
cons: optimization sucks, on some areas framerate drops badly, and graphics isnt good enough to justify that (altough its fine)
you liked LoG1 - buy this immediately -
Oct 17, 2014I can't be objective because Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back were THE GAMES of my childhood. LoG1 is better than Dungen Master and LoG2 is better than LoG. So this game is freaking awesome !

Nov 18, 2014For me GOTY 2014 for sure. This game is even better than Dungeon Master 2 and that game was real gem. This is best of the recent RPG games and i really love the whole feeling of the game. If you are a dungeon crawler fan this is a must own.

Oct 19, 2014The game as a dungeon-crawler and classic RPG rules in it's genre. Pure RPG magic. If you like to think while playing, the game will be fantastic for you.
-
Oct 22, 2014If you liked or loved the first you will love this sequel. Very well done and improves on the first tremendously. New classes, a whole lot of new area to explore, doesn't hold your hand, funny antagonist, improved enemy diversity. $25 is too low of a price. I would pay full $60 for this game easy.

Aug 1, 2015I'm rather hard giving notations, but this game really deserves a 10, the only negative would be that a bit more social interaction between the players or with NPC could be cool. Rest is excellent.
-
Oct 17, 2014Old School fun, very straight forward dungeon crawler and puzzle game that you'll have some fun with.
However wait for it to go on sale, it's not the Holy Grail of games, but it should keep you entertained for awhile. -
Oct 19, 2014unfortunatly this game suffers the same as all old school dungeon crawler follow ups,i.e lets make the map bigger.i would compare this almost exactly to dungeon master 2 in that the love has gone and instead of keeping it tight they add extra branches that a person cant possibly keep in his head.7/10
-
Oct 27, 2014A decent enough game especially for an indie developer with some interesting puzzles, however overall it feels rather bland and directionless with a pretty poorly designed realtime combat system that has none of the depth of a turn based equivalent. Also lacks the charm and personality of Might and Magic X - so if you're craving an old school RPG fix I'd recommend MMX over this.
-
Oct 25, 2014Did you like Legend of Grimrock? Then get Legend of Grimrock II....like NOW. Its just better and bigger. Pretty much what you ideally expect of a sequel.
I had to duck a point for some performance issues (although this may have already been or may in the future be adressed in patches). -

Oct 20, 2014Excelent game in every aspect.Only minus for me is system of health and damage numbers they are too high and also range minum and maximum damge seems to big so its too random but its ok.
Great game overall if took from oldschool game or clasiic rpg dosent matter its just cool. -

Nov 2, 2014The movement is clunky and tortured. It plays more like a board game than a videogame. If you're looking for atari 2600 style of play, this might be a game for you.

Feb 1, 2021I give this game 9. This game is truly amazing, impossible to stop playing. I reduce 1 point because, guys, really, come puzzles are just impossible to solve. I have no Idea how others managed to solve NEX roof exit puzzle for instance.

Mar 2, 2016Respect to the programming team, for taking big steps from the previous (also great) Grimrock. I can't give enough praise to this old-school RPG, playability, graphics, sound, story, everything is refined. Eye of the Beholder has a contender for the 1st place !!
-
Dec 24, 2018Probly the best explorer game I played. I want to solve all the puzzles, find all the secrets! I get a strong sense of tabletop role playing when I play grimrock 2. Amazing atmosphere that gives goosebumps!
-
Feb 15, 2017This one is much better than the last one. It still has the same tile moving but it feels much more organic than before and you can go outside. Also the best point is that the game focuses less on super hard puzzles and makes smaller more pleasant ones and also adds more action and boss fights. This time I actually hope they make a sequel.
-
Dec 23, 2016It's a brilliant, hard and long game, very well designed, with a great athmosphere, tough to master, but makes you keep going and going. The puzzles and secrets are awesome.
I didn't play Legend of Grimrock I, but I'm still playing LoG II right now, December 2016.
I hope I could finish the game, but it's very hard. Love it!
Will be playing LoG III if it's made. -
Jan 26, 2018Really awesome dungeon crawler - I've played a couple other similar games, and this game is far beyond any of them. It's easy to underestimate how much work is required to make this type of game fun and engaging, but the grimrock developers did a great job with it.
-
Jan 3, 2018Legend of Grimrock 2 is bigger than its predecessor, but it doesn't feel better in any way. Still a good game though.

Feb 26, 2015If Almost Human had made a strict dungeon crawler like the first Legend of Grimrock, but with a properly fleshed-out world, better UI, redesigned combat and role-playing systems, I would have recommended such a sequel in an instant. Alas.
-
CD-ActionFeb 7, 2015A traditional, well-designed dungeon crawler that requires both quick fingers and a sharp mind. [01/2015, p.72]
-
Jan 15, 2015Legend of Grimrock 2 will consume your mind in many ways. The puzzles will slowly tear away at your brain until they are solved, and the amount of focus needed for just about every combat encounter is through the roof.
