    Buen juego, tiene buenos zombis y buenos efectos, buen gráficos para su época, buenos sonidos y personajes, pero siento que una campaña con mejor historia pudo haber perfeccionado el juego, yo lo consideraría una excelente opción para jugar un rato o con amigos.

If you want the original and authentic feeling, I suggest you play them here first, since Left 4 Dead 2 can't fully mimic the atmosphere and tone of the first game. But if you want the best for least buck, you can get away with everything in one package by buying Left 4 Dead 2.

Going solo is not an option here; you absolutely need your teammates by your side. While individual skill does play a role, as is typical in Valve games, it only takes you so far. When you find yourself stuck with a horde of zombies, having a reliable teammate becomes essential. Teamwork truly is the key to survival in this game.

    Regarding the story, it's there, and yet it isn't. While there is a storyline present, it doesn't take center stage in this game. Instead, the focus lies squarely on the thrilling and fantastic co-op gameplay. Don't get me wrong, there is a story, and the last campaign even has a comic book related to it, but it's not the main attraction. What truly shines in Left 4 Dead is the seamless and enjoyable co-op experience it provides.

    The game doesn't stop at just one game mode; there are more to explore. One standout mode lets you play as the infected, pitting you against a team of real players who take on the role of survivors. It's an exhilarating experience that adds another layer of depth to the game.

    No veo la gran cosa en este juego, es muy simple y se vuelve aburrido y repetitivo muy pronto, para mi fue un martirio terminar una sola campaña ya que al tercer capítulo ya me había hartado.

    For its time this game is bonkers absurdly good look at other titles that come out on 2008. Is it stil playable ? I'd say finish it at least once with your friends.

    Loads of fun. Chaotic hordes and creative super-zombies make for frantic team-oriented gameplay that is as addictive as meth. It has a solid amount of highly replayable content and sells the zombie apocalypse better than most games out there.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fun Zombie shooter and the first one I ever played.

    When Left 4 Dead came out, it was a new concept for me. Fully rendered 3D zombies and a series of stages to progress through with your friends, in order to be rescued. I had so much fun with this game and its original concept back then, inspired many other games to follow the same or a shared format.

    In Left 4 Dead, you play as one of four characters who, as a group, need to travel to an extraction point from where they are rescued. There are a lot of maps to choose from and each map consists of five levels.

    On your journey you come across hordes of infected and, every fifty steps or so, one of the three special infected this game has, appears and tries to make your life miserable. Those three are the Smoker, which uses his long tongue to reel you in and choke you, the Boomer (no not a sixty year old man with forty grandchildren), a bloated fat sack of pus that explodes on you, covering you in goo and attracting other infected, and the Hunter, a hacker-man type dude in a hoodie that jumps and claws at you with the most deafening screech. You find scarce resources like health packs and pills to keep you going, and later on, you find some better weapons.

    Left 4 Dead features two mini boss type infected that appears once in a while. Those are the Witch, a mutated girl that sobs and sits on the ground. When you startle her, she goes apesh!t and charges towards you. If she hits you, it’s a one-way ticket to the floor. And then there is the Tank. An oversized bodybuilder zombie on steroids. He is the Left 4 Dead variant of “Hulk Smash” and one can quickly understand what will happen if he successfully shows you the way of the fist.

    You can play Left 4 Dead with friends or random people, where each person takes over one of the four characters. You can play solo, in which case the other three survivors are filled in with bots. The AI of those bots is surprisingly decent, although they feel a little lifeless, which is to be expected from playing with bots.
    The action is intense, and the tension builds up when you are almost there or your whole team is down, and everyone is depending on you. This feeling is enhanced on higher difficulty levels.

    The graphics in Left 4 Dead are dark and grim and fine to look at. The animations are a little sluggish and zombies dying, do so in a scripted motion. When you encounter the Witch for example, and you pump her full of shotgun hail, she casually falls down to the ground on heir knees and dies. She should be flying to the nearest planet in a “realistic” situation.

    The controls are smooth and work very well. I really like that you can stomp zombies that get to close, so you earn yourself the necessary second to blow their head off.

    You also got a versus mode in which you can be one of the special infected and need to let the survivors fail their journey at any cost.

    The sound design is excellent. The grunts of the zombies, the ambient music and weapon fire, all sounds very good.

    Like I said, I had so much fun with Left 4 Dead and can play it anytime for a few rounds of old-school fun.

    One of the best zombie shooters I've ever played. The single player is extremely intense and riveting, and playing online is even more fun and addictive.     This game is really good, the gunplay feels really nice and i really liked how the pistols have infinite ammo, the really only problem i found is that it gets really repetitive and people always vote to put the difficulty to impossible even though they cant even play easy mode.

    - Сюжет; - Интересные главные герои и их взаимодействия друг с другом; - Разнообразные и интересные кампании; - Великолепная графика и музыка; - Разнообразные и интересные противники, режимы; - Отлично воссозданная зомби-атмосфера; - Отличные сетевые режимы. Благодаря этому в неё играют до    Легендарная игра с которой мне довелось познакомиться в детстве.
    Она великолепна во всём:

    - Разнообразные и интересные кампании;
    - Великолепная графика и музыка;
    - Разнообразные и интересные противники, режимы;
    - Отлично воссозданная зомби-атмосфера;

    Благодаря этому в неё играют до сих пор несмотря на то, что ей уже почти 15 лет!!!
    В эту игру можно играть одному, но куда лучше и увлекательнее — с друзьями.

    Игре надо ставить две оценки. Как кооп шутер, где за зомби играет компьютер, игра заслуживает девятку. Кровища, толпы монстров, боссы, взаимодействие между игроками... Зато в режимах, когда две команды сражаются друг с другом, оценка падает до пяти, потому что баланса нет и не будет, т.к. зомби безбожно слабы против тех игроков, которые знают, что делают. Да и большая часть игроков вИгре надо ставить две оценки. Как кооп шутер, где за зомби играет компьютер, игра заслуживает девятку. Кровища, толпы монстров, боссы, взаимодействие между игроками... Зато в режимах, когда две команды сражаются друг с другом, оценка падает до пяти, потому что баланса нет и не будет, т.к. зомби безбожно слабы против тех игроков, которые знают, что делают.     Первое, о чём хочется сказать - играйте в ко-опе, так как именно в нём количество положительных впечатлений увеличиваются в разы: забавные ситуации, в которую попадаете вы с друзьями, переход с крика "меня схватили, сзади, сзади!" на шёпот, когда вы видите ведьму... И много-много всего того, что погружает вас в игровой процесс.
    Ситуации… Замечательнейшая вещь есть в этой игре – умный ИИ.    Первое, о чём хочется сказать - играйте в ко-опе, так как именно в нём количество положительных впечатлений увеличиваются в разы: забавные ситуации, в которую попадаете вы с друзьями, переход с крика "меня схватили, сзади, сзади!" на шёпот, когда вы видите ведьму... И много-много всего того, что погружает вас в игровой процесс.
    Ситуации… Замечательнейшая вещь есть в этой игре – умный ИИ. Ум этот проявляется в следующем: вам очень легко проходить уровень - вот вам побольше врагов; сложно - поменьше. А также этот ИИ спавнит припасы в совершенно разных местах, зомби-боссов раскидывает тоже совершенно случайно. В общем, скриптов в игре очень мало, что замечательно, ведь это повышает реиграбельность.
    Локации отлично проработаны, ощущается талант разработчиков.
    Также есть очень весёлый режим сражения: друг играет за зомби-боссов, вы - за выжившего.
    Единственное, что огорчило - маленький арсенал, который со временем набивает оскомину.
    Ещё спорным является то, что в игре в принципе нет сюжета. Так, связанные парой реплик персонажей наборы уровней. Правда в ко-опе на это совершенно наплевать, а вот ценность одиночного опыта понижает в разы.
    Очень хорошая игра, которая, видимо, не стареет.

    It is a bit weird to review a game released in 2008 eleven years later, yet I'd say that it is still a reference game for 4 players cooperation. Only the characters' move speed feels a bit slow, but apart from this you have fun and intensity, still feels great. To be played only in multiplayer though, the game loses most of its interest if you play alone.

    Really fun shooter, especially in the co-op mode! Pretty basic mechanics, like in HL2, but that makes it more pure in a way for me, and certainly not less enjoyable! A very short campaign though, and pretty outdated visuals for 2008.

    You can play this game by yourself, as other characters can be controlled by the program, and there is a kind of mini-campaign here. But this game is not about that. Left 4 Dead is a very cool cooperative shooter in a zombie-apocalypse for 4 gamers against different types of zombies and in different situations and locations.

I like the dark and scary scenario, it feels just like night of the living dead. Great and fun campaigns. Awesome single-player-mode as well as co-op. You can even play as special infected.     Pills here! What can I say, the older the games are, the better they are. It's hard to compare well made game from ~2008 to games that are made today. Cheap game, but I spent in it 5x more hours than in few other games that claimed to have 40h campaigns/storylines.

    A good game. I've played it a lot on Steam, and I think it's one of the best zombie games of all time. How could anyone disagree with me? You know, the game only costs like 20 euros or 22 dollars. Not bad at all! Some say Left 4 Dead 2 is better but I haven't tried it yet (I must buy it as well as soon as possible).

    Highly anticipated and hyped on gametrailers and youtube. One of the best games of all time. You could expect nothing less of Valve. Put around 1500 hours in the original game. Quality is what this game is about. Voice acting, narrative, graphics, programming systems. It worked out extremely well.

    As I said from Left 4 Dead 2, the guns are smooth and the reloading are great, there is no workshop in Left 4 Dead, like Left 4 Dead 2 had are different, u got to download some mods and maps to be able to play, and of course the best zombie game so far 10/10

    Okay, so by the score I've given, you probably want to crucify me, but please hear me out. This game is the first zombie game of this kind to incorporate the hordes of unique zombies and a squad of players against all odd-... oh what, that's Killing Floor. So yeah, while the game is innovative, it didn't start the genre like people thing, sort of like how people credit COD4 for startingOkay, so by the score I've given, you probably want to crucify me, but please hear me out. This game is the first zombie game of this kind to incorporate the hordes of unique zombies and a squad of players against all odd-... oh what, that's Killing Floor. So yeah, while the game is innovative, it didn't start the genre like people thing, sort of like how people credit COD4 for starting off the modern FPS from WW2, when Battlefield 2 did the same thing 3 years earlier, and COD4 just drew inspiration (as a matter of fact, BF2 was inspired by the Desert Combat mod for BF1942, which technically makes most modern military FPS inspirations of inspirations of inspirations). But back to Killing Flo- I mean L4D. The gunplay is really neat and satisfying, though the weapons can sometimes feel really stiff and the lack of any sort of sights or zoom-in option is kind of annoying in my opinion (noticing a trend here Valve; it was fine for Half-Life and TF2, but it can get annoying in a game like this). The animations are also kind of stiff and the outlines on objects now look laughably outdated, but the textures still hold up for the most part.

    But lets tackle the immediate, the games biggest strength and greatest weakness: the core gameplay loop. This loop is as addicting as it is mind-numbing, and it depends on your style. If you get easily bored by repetition in gameplay, then stay as far away from this game as possible. If you LIKE this sort of repetition, then go ahead and get the damn game. You WILL be happy with your purchase. Ultimately, I managed to squeeze out around 50 hours of gameplay before I got bored and took a long break from the game. The reason I couldn't last as long here when compared to other horde-mode survival games like PAYDAY 2 or Killing Floor is due to the lack of permanent progression. The two games I just mentioned have skill trees, which give you something to work towards from match-to-match, and even when you reach the max level (or in the case of KF, the max level of each class), there is still loads of experimenting to be done with skills and the like. L4D lacks that sort of thing; each new round is a fresh start and the only skills that you retain through the hours are those embedded your head, not in code. Another problem I have with this game when compared to its competitors is the lack of weapons. There are but a few weapons in the game, though to be fair they all play pretty differently (L4D2 fixed this somewhat with new guns, and I'll be reviewing the two games like one, because L4D2 is less of a new game and more of a rehaul pack). However, this lack of initial content is somewhat remedied by the same sort of thing that allowed Half-Life to become the greatest FPS of all time and what allowed me to clock over 1000 hours into Minecraft over around 4 years: MODS!!! The modding community for L4D, while not as substantial as for other Valve games like HL2, is still very very large. These mods add at least 10 extra hours, from making the Tank zombies into giant Kool-Aid men, to all-new maps, weapons, and even the occasional character re-skin or new zombie type. Also the characters are awesome.

    Conclusion: A repetitive, but addicting horde game with a lack of initial content and a "sequel" with the same issues, which is partially remedied by mods which can double the gameplay time. 6/10 without mods, 8/10 with mods. Also, don't get it on consoles, though I'm pretty sure that's a given for a Valve game.    … Expand

    Despite already having played Left 4 Dead 2, Left 4 Dead is still an excellent game. Of course it's essentially just more of the same, but that's more or less what I was expecting, honestly. The game features four playable characters, Bill, Zoey, Francis and Louis, DLC campaigns (screw you EA) and an abundance of zombies to tear to shreds. Recommended 100%.

    Co-Op on Expert mode with your friends is satisfying as hell when you manage to pull through, and Versus offers a competitive game mode and chance to play as the original special infected.

    As always, I did see potential for improvement, but if any game deserves a 10/10 it's this one.    … Expand

    L4D2 mato a este juego... No malgaste tu dinero en este juego, la comunidad esta muerta. Ve con L4D2, es una versión Plus+DLC. Pero si hablamos de lo que tiene es un shooter de zombies, ahí zombies especiales y vas del punto A al B. Es simple, pero muy adictivo. De no ser por que el 2 es una versión con DLC de este lo podría recomendar, consigue L4D2 que no te arrepentirás.

    Decent zombie game. Most playable with friends you actually know over live chat. Cause the L4D community has many people trolling. Non the less ,the different campaigns you can download from the modding community, will make it up to you. Its an solid shooter ,but it starts lacking of replay value after few hundred hours.

    Excellent co-op multiplayer game where players are required to team up to actually win unlike many other "coops". However it's biggest flaw is the community where players are not punished for leaving games thus having lots of leavers when things start to go bad for a particular team. Much better than the sequal game that was released shortly after this one.

There are 4 campaigns with 5 maps to each one. Replay value is good due to the fact that the AI changes the zombie attacks and spawn points with each play, so you never know where the horde is going to come flooding from or where the bosses are lurking. When you get bored with the maps supplied there are loads of 3rd party maps and campaigns available on the web. On top of all this you can even play as one the various types of zombies (on a random basis). Personally I find this less satisfying, but it is worth a go just to get the other perspective.     I'll never forget that feeling the night I bought this game and played it for the first time. It was magic. A co-op zombie shooter with many twists and turns and a "Director" to alter the game every time it was played. How could a gamer pass that up? Good weapons, character development, graphics and a zombie apocalypse atmosphere.

    Okay, so maybe Left 4 Dead doesn't have the deepest plot. But if you're not looking for anything particularly engaging and enthralling, and simply want to unload as many bullets as possible into fast moving targets who are hungry for you, Left 4 Dead is a great game, especially if you have some friends to help you survive through the bullet riddled repetition.

    This game is pretty decent.not better than resident evil.the pros.1.gory.2.partners3.variety of wepons.4.lots of running zombies. Cons. 1.unrealistic with unlimited ammo.2.no scenes or other survivors.3.no that good graphics.4.no suspense,because samething happens all the time.other than that it was ok.

    best zombie game ever! the characters, the zombie models, the special infected, the co up, the versus! all so fun! i always wanted a game which had easily killed zombies but still had to use team work to survive, probebly the best co up game i can think of in the moment, nope its the best i know!

    The main problem is finding reliable teammates. Hunters and smokers (special zombies) can render one character completely useless, so if you're playing a 4v4 online and they have 3 hunters and 1 smoker, they can orchestrate their attack well enough that it will disable everyone on your team. It is very frustrating to sit there and watch your character go from 100 health to dead whileThe main problem is finding reliable teammates.     Having not played a zombie shooter before (except for COD zombies on the iPad), it was with some nervousness that I bought Left 4 dead on Steam not really knowing what to expect. Thankfully, I can say that Left 4 Dead is one of the best multiplayer games I've played in years.     There's absolutely no doubt that Left 4 Dead is one of the most social and exciting multiplayer games that we've ever played. It's almost pitch perfect in how it captures the tension and the action of a Hollywood zombie movie.
