    I can absolutely recommend this game for people that love the asymmetrical horror genre, if the devs keep working on it and actually committ to letting their playerbase know what's going on. The first attempt clearly failed, i can partially agree, that discord store was a bad choice, but also shutting off their community by giving them complete silence was the worst decision ever made. As long as devs have learned from that and won't just run off again and leave everyone with dozens of questions, then i'd really like to recommend this and for ppl to support that.

    Besides that, i think the game has a very fun gameplay concept and i think that needs to be recognized first and foremost, we can't review bomb games with negative reviews constantly and not giving them the chance to actually gain a playerbase, it's absolutely the opposite of trying to get a game to succeed actually. DBD wasn't built in one day, not even in one year either, it took dbd a LONG time to actually gain the platform they have now, so let's not be hypocritical.

    So please people going into this, consider these few things and actually help a game to succeed that has a concept, that doesn't exist in this form and shape in the asymmetrical horror genre atm. Having just one game on top of that list constantly gets extremely tiresome and boring after a while, so something fresh and new besides dbd would be great for everyone who's a fan of the genre. I see similarities with l4d immensely, but overall it is definitely it's own concept and game and also original in what it does, so why not increase the size of games in your library in the horror genre with this addition?

    I can see a future of both dbd and last year being successful together, without it taking away anything from either community, because these two games are so different and if you'd want something more fast paced, but also highly demanding in teamplay and coordination, then last year would be your choice, but dbd is the more slower paced and thrilling game, with a lot of big horror moments, that requires more map awareness and timing. Therefore i can conifdently say that both of these games can exist together and be successful. Let's stop the childish hate and comparisons.

    If you love a class system with a little side crafting mixed, a fps that is fast paced and exciting, team communication, coordination and you overall just love horror and the idea of surviving the attack of a killer on different maps with 4 other teammates, then i can absolutely recommend it. Fun dialogues between the characters included and graphically it's very nice as well, it takes some time to get used to certain mechanics and figuring out what is the best way to take out a killer, but dbd also has a huuuge learning curve, so don't expect you'll be pro right off the bat.

    A few more additions: The voice acting is really well done, definitely more professional especially by actors, where some of them got a history of voice acting for a big list of other known titles and i gotta give props for that. The atmosphere of the game with the music choice, the sound effects etc. are also very well picked in my honest opinion and contribute a lot to the horror vibes and feel, while playing.    … Expand

    I think this game is great it has a amazing art style and the gameplay is so fun and interactive and has lots of intense moments!!! I love all the characters designs every character has their own unique personality. The graphics for this game look so nice and the mood for the maps is really dark and creepy.     This game is one of the few Asymmetric horror experiences I can safely say has potential to be beyond great. As far as gameplay goes, the game is beyond excellent even if there are some problems getting there (more on this later). These devs have worked hard to push the most requested community features and updates to the game in a way that makes me feel jealous of that    OVERALL:

These devs have worked hard to push the most requested community features and updates to the game in a way that makes me feel jealous of that experience while playing the very popular DBD (voice communication was released in a sort of beta form within a week of people wanting it put back in whereas DBD's devs only really update every 2 months with few exceptions).
    Onto the specifics:

    PROS:
    -Really fun gameplay loop with unique objectives per each map
    -Killers feel strong without being overbearing unless there is a massive skill gap
    -Survivors can feel real progression both inside the match and out of it
    -All future DLCs are free
    -Promise of long time support and game improvement with good community response for this release
    -Progression in the form of cosmetics, spells (one match uses of power ups on a cooldown to be used through a single game), and in game crafting for classmates (survivors)
    -Well thought out voice lines and personality to each unique classmate

    CONS:
    -Matchmaking can be inconsistent (the speed of which is actually better than DBD for comparison though)
    *Some bugs that keep matchmaking from stopping when cancelling queue
    *A bug where you cannot have more than 3 people in a group for queues or it may bug out
    -Some killers aren't as strong as others (the slasher is extremely weak in combat but with more base damage than other killers though and has only 2 kill spots per map on I believe 2/3 maps currently in the game)    … Expand

    I was excited! only to find out that there is no option for Microphone, push talk, auto talk etc... the only people I found talking had this weird program?... which I am guessing you have to install?... in order to talk in-game...?... There is no inbuilt microphone in the game itself, Very disappointing... ignoring that I went to Discord with the hope to see that people would be in chat rooms having a great time only to find Complaints, more complaints and more complaints about 1 thing... Bugs, Glitches, weird game-play.
    I ignored all those negativity thinking this game had potential and don't get me wrong. It does.In the right hands!
    Later in the game I found out that there are no options to pick servers ( not a problem..) being put in servers with 150-300 ping! unacceptable!
    Here is what drove me nuts... Having such a good time on this game though its not perfect... The one thing you could mess up the most... and this has to be some kind of all time record... I have never... EVER seen a game where the servers itself... not even in MMORPG's does this happen... Servers down for 3 Hours.... Spending 2 hours on this game having total of 7 rounds, not even a chance to be "Killer" 3 hours time trying to reconnect to the game and wondering where this will go... Direct Refund- (Update: Steam Policy after "2 hours gameplay" spending 4 hours trying to Connect to a game the game can not be refunded, This is actually really a sad day for €16,79! . I gave up hope and hope to see you guys in the next 7 months with improvements! for the price you expect that at least the damn servers are in function!    … Expand

    A great game overshadowed by it's rocky launch on Discord and Steam. Although not owning a Discord copy of this game, I've been watching this game thoroughly and it's in a better state now than before. The gameplay is more balanced, survivor and killer are both fun to play now and both sides finally feel equal. The game is currently having a rocky launch which is to be expected after 8 months of non-stop development and pressure from consumers. I believe it was worth the wait. The spider and it's animations are extremely cool and re-works finally came to the game. Sure some were unnecessary such as in-game voice chat removal (which has now returned), UI-reworks, and matchmaking reworks but at least it shows their progress. Sure the 8 month hell Elastic went through was a bit shady as they left people in the dark but be grateful that Discord buyers at least got a free code for the Steam version and we finally got the reworks, balances, and other changes needed. Now all Elastic has to worry about is fine tuning the servers, work on optimization, and fix whatever else needs to be fixed. I expect this game to return to former glory in about a month and the game is now cheaper than before so this is a good buy for anyone into beautiful graphics and overall fun gameplay, although wait a bit until you buy or keep it in your library until everything is sorted out from Elastic's side. They're listening to everyone's feedback and are working on hotfixes and patches to make your experience better, not like BHVR or GUN that just never listens to the community anymore.… Expand

    3: the background music is too big to cover up the sound when the killer disappears or appears. As a result, players often cannot hear the sound of the killer disappearing or appearing.

    At its core this game is super fun. That being said there are a lot of design nitpicks here and there. There are a lot of things that I think are really unbalanced but these problems can be fixed with balance patches later down the line.
    I will admit that the netcode for this game is very wonky but I think that's to be expected of a game that just launched on Steam after being on Discord    At its core this game is super fun. That being said if you or the Fiend (it seems this game runs on local hosting) is laggy the game becomes a lot harder to enjoy.

    But probably the biggest problem with this game is that everyone playing it is a **** brainless monkey. This is probably to be expected with a game that just launched but good lord the amount of Ambers who hoard all the scrap and then craft nothing, Rajs who throw molotovs at their team, Sams who brainlessly walk into every trap on the map, Rajs who run off solo and get killed, Rajs who take objectives and don't do them just to troll the team, Rajs who intentionally search trapped scrap pickups just to screw with their team, Rajs who don't know what their power does, Rajs who spam craft pain pills instead of proximity mines and flame throwers, Rajs who... basically what I'm getting at is that 90% of Raj players are trolls.
    This game is in desperate need of anti-trolling mechanics. A vote-kick or reporting function would go a long way to make this game better. Or just remove Raj since the only people who play him are trolls. Beyond that an actual in-game tutorial would be great. Even if it was just a 20 page word document reading "Don't Split The Party" like it's Zombieland meets The Shining it would still help the massive influx of new players who play this game like it's Dead by Daylight.

    Most of the other issues with the game can be attributed to it being an essentially brand new product. But the playerbase issue is the biggest problem with the game. Fixes to the playerbase (tutorials and anti-trolling mechanics) should be a priority for the developers, and if you're planning to get the game I highly recommend watching some gameplay footage on YouTube before starting to play this game, as it will help you to learn a lot about how to play.    … Expand

    These guys are working non stop to fix the issues present upon release and each patch has helped more than the last. Give this game a chance because when it works, hell, now that it DOES work it’s a load of fun and can definitely be on par with something like Dead By Daylight after a couple more updates. Keep your eye on this game.

    Game is very fun with friends. Survivor queue times don't take long. Killer queue times take a little long, but eventually you will get into a match. Few bugs with the game. One bug is where you get stuck. (Someone will have to make a pipe bomb, molotov, etc. to free you). Game is good though, mostly.

    Sadly at the moment i cannot recommend anyone buying this. We started with a group of 4 Player, which makes coordination as survivors easy . . . or so you should think.     Yes, the Killers are not able to "grow" (No Bloodnet for them), but they are so super powerfull at the moment, that no round lasted longer than 4 Minutes.

    For new Players i cannot recommend the game at the moment.
    After trying again yesterday for an hour we decided to give it a rest until there will be changes comming.
    So far 3 hours in we are just above the threshhold for a refund.

    It has potential, but currently not for fresh players.    … Expand

And that's not because of the gameplay, and honestly the gameplay is down right amazing! And the game looks amazing, especially coming from an Indie game studio. When it doesn't work, it REALLY doesn't work. And that's not because of the gameplay, and honestly the gameplay is down right amazing! And the game looks amazing, especially coming from an Indie game studio. Characters have so much charm and personality that F13, DBD, and any other horror game of this genre offers, and the class system and new perk mechanics just SCREAMS for meta-building. The problem is that there's issues with the servers, weird lag at times for all players, optimization issues, and a few bugs here and there. But I've had games where it's completely clean and have a blast. If only it would just let me play the damn thing 100% of the time.
    It's hard to rate this game right now because I could just tell you to buy it and wait for it to get better as it's only launch day. But we are talking about the game now, and not later. Just be mindful that this game isn't in a great state at launch. Hopefully soon Elastic can straighten this game up and make it learn to ride a bike because right now it feels like it's on training wheels. Don't give up on this title, it has great potential! We just have to see if it reaches that level. And if it ever does, I'll change my review in a damn heartbeat.    … Expand

    The game is very good and balanced. As a killer you need to be strategic and think 1 step forward most of the times. Most people think killer is OP but if the team knows what they're doing its a struggle.

    If you are tired from games like dbd and soul and stake you can try it out!

    Before I start, I want to mention that I played the game back when it was on Discord.

    To start off, the only two problems I think this game has is that 1: The Killer hosts the match, so if you live in the US and the killer lives in China, you're going to lag a LOT, and 2: There isn't a ranking system that separates players based on their skill. I can understand both these problems however, due to the fact that Elastic Games has been working extremely hard on this game, and they have dealt with a lot of setbacks that slowed down progress on this game, such as their Kickstarter money being stolen by an ex-employee. Plus, you have to remember (and correct me if I'm wrong on this) that Last Year is technically an indie game. Last thing I want to say is that many people are comparing this to Dead By Daylight, and while there are some comparisons between the two, you can't compare Last Year, a recently re-released game, to Dead By Daylight, a game that's been out for years and has had many bug fixes and changes. Too many of these reviews are comparing Last Year to the LATEST version of Dead By Daylight. I would say Last Year's initial launch on Discord, and its launch on Steam, were 5x BETTER than the initial launch of Dead By Daylight.

    All in all, Last Year is a really good game, and I can't wait for what's to come in this game. Give this game a chance guys.    … Expand

    This is a solid game if you are a fan of asymmetrical horror. There are some definite bugs to be fixed at launch as well as some much needed balance patches, however as a whole I give the game a buy. It's already better than similar games and is on par with dead by daylight which had a considerable head start.

    Last Year is one of those games that has a lot of replay value. Sure there's not much since it just came out, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game like some people think. This game was obviously meant for fans of slasher horror flicks, so if you're not a fan of the horror genre, then this game is not for you. It is also an intense game, but once you get the feel of it, you're good to go

    Since Discord, they have changed a fair lot of stuff, and laid out the groundwork for some more exciting features to come.     The new killer, The Spider, currently debated whether it is Overpowered or not, but I will not weigh in on either side. All I will say is that it is visually very cool. It is unique, I absolutely love seeing an actual monster / beast as a killer and it makes me very excited for what the developers have in mind for future killers!

    Overall, the game is very fun, and feels very unique. I personally am excited to see what the developers can make of the game, if it can get up on it's legs after the issues have been ironed out.

    For now, if you are interested in the game, I would recommend waiting for the main issues to be fixed and then absolutely give it a try. The developers need the community to show interest in the game, and provide valuable feedback.

    I really like the game and I hope it can get the support it needs for it to grow.

    However, the developers are listening closely to their community and are prioritizing fixing match making. In addition to this, they've already confirmed the next content update is in the works.

    The game did technically launch over a year ago, but who the hell buys games on Discord Store? This Steam launch is basically the official first launch of the game, and they've still got a lot to work on. However, I'm looking forward to a bright future for the game.

    Is it worth buying? I'd say yeah. If you're deterred by the lack of content, wait a little while and see what future content updates hold.

    This game has had such great potential since it was released on Discord, but the state it's in now is ridiculously unbalanced in IMMENSE favor of the killer. The killer should be strong to be able to take on the survivors, but right now a group of five survivors are hilariously outmatched.

    I'm generally all for "unbalanced" games where the killer is overpowered because at some points, it makes sense. However, this game is so killer-sided it's not even worth playing if you're not a killer. The killers have the opportunity to teleport, set traps, have poisonous gas that inverts your controls and impairs your vision. These traps are triggered when searching for scrap which is pretty much the only way you can even defend yourself from the killer later on in the game. In addition to those perks the killers get, survivors get absolutely nothing besides "spells" in which buff you, but also debuff you. And that doesn't even include the killer's kits which can absolutely abuse the trapping feature. A good example of this is the strangler, who can snatch you and pull you right to his feet where he has set a trap. It would make sense for killers to step in their own traps but they are apparently weightless. Another key issue is that the killer can just spawn out of the game when he goes into their killing animation. This makes it so you are hitting a player that is visible, yet invincible.

    Playing survivor on this game seems like you are just feeding egos for random people online. There is no learning curve to this game, you just go to the objective and hold F. Other than that, the only way to survive is to run, and that's basically it.

    I was so beyond excited to play this game over the past year but my disappointment is immeasurable and my day continues to be ruined.    … Expand

    Player base is small so que times are trash. Youll get matched with almost the same people. As a new player to the game I constantly kept getting thrown into matches with already skilled killers which didn't even give me a chance to get a feel for the game. No communication at all in the game sometimes it works apparently to everyone on reddit but for me it hasnt worked once and ive made sure to enable the settings. The last point that very much turned me off from the game is the P2P connection as the killers internet is whats hosting the match. I would say wait to purchase the game until it gets better but from what ive heard about the game from the past that could be eternity. Game looks like its player base will die out before there will be a good quality of life update.     I like the uniqueness of crafting and having the class for a Classmate (Survivor). and also the idea of the chance of killing the Fiend (Killer). Even though the game lags or having problems. The developer still updating and fixing the game ASAP :). So I hope the developer keep updating the game. Because this game is so enjoyable

They've finally added a cosmetic store (without microtransactions), a spell shop which is used to unlock spells which act like consumables, slight PVE elements and one new survivor and killer. I'm pretty much begging for some sort of confirmation that they're working on new maps already, cause hot damn we need some map variety soon.

    In my honest opinion, the game's in a good state as of V1.0.7. It's fun, it's addictive and I'm hoping we'll get some teasers about new content within a month or two, cause man they need to get the ball rolling and start showing us what they can really do with this game.    … Expand

    The games honestly great, the queue times are relatively mixed, I don't play killer much because I play with my friends (Crazy right) A good majority of players seem to cry about useless issues and come up with things to hate about the game and reasons they won't buy it that don't do anything but make the issues they talk about worse.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I tried this game and let me tell you that there is more lightning in my butt crack inside a black hole then this game. I can't see anything and need probably to buy night vision goggles to maybe see the genius behind the lightning in this game. The gameplay is sloppier than my girlfriend undertable. I have a friend called James who also tried to play this game and only saw a black screen with sounds which almost describe the gameplay of this Masterpiece. Also, the material of the texture of the mesh seemed to have a lack of realism as they don't seem to properly refract the lightning and seem too rough to be true. Please review the refraction of your material and their properties regarding their emissive color, Roughness, Metallic value, etc so you can give it a more realistic perspective.

    Before buying the game, take into consideration that it might cost you a pair of night google vision which are expensive.    … Expand

This is because fiend can travel to the exit area before classmates activate it and basically sit in front of the exit and knock people off the platforms that they are always on. There needs to be something better with this. It's just cheese. Lastly, why are the gas traps even in the game. They last so long and are straight up annoying, and you cant even do anything. This contributes to my problem with the killer not having to work for the kill. I know what you're saying, you haven't said anything about classmates balance. Well, thats because i think they are slighty underpowered. Yes, classmates can wreck havoc on killers with some good gear crafted and good communication, but the thing is, you need to find scrap for that and sometimes that can take a while. You can spend a while getting scrap, craft a nice item, then get killed in a few hits and its all wasted, and this feels very punishing. The killer doesnt have to do this and has very little limitation apart from LOS. WITH THIS SAID, I do think there is a learning curve, you'll learn the maps, learn how to carry your team with certain roles, and essentially get better and escape more often. Its just too dang easy for killer, give them some longer cooldowns or something. Make killing the killer feel rewarding. I feel like with some small tweaks this can really increase the quality of the game.

    I'm not gonna lie, I would have thought there would atleast be a new map with an extra year of development, but I can see that they spent a good amount of time on a new killer and survivor (which i love), new ai for the baby spiders, progression, and cosmetics. I'm really hoping they stay true to their word about making content their main priority. This game needs atleast 6 killers and maybe 6 maps to feel fulfilled in my opinion. I love the weapon skins, they look cool. Just hoping for some more original mesh ones for classmates like they did with Raj. Bring us more content devs!

    The peer-to-peer servers are trash, they are bearable but they are trash. It's honestly hit or miss, you can have a really bad ping game, a mediocre one, or a fantastic one. It really depends. A lot of people are using NY region when they are from other regions, so this probably contributes to that. On the bright side, the queue times for classmates are quite fast. For fiend it's quite slow. Obviously dedicated servers would help this, but i know this isnt in their budget right now probably.

    Lastly, the playerbase is just new. They sometimes will ragequit if they die or if you don't rescue soon enough, not always, but it happens. I think if people play longer and more players come to the game then they'll learn and get used to it.

    Anyway, with some content and balance tweaks this game will be insane. In it's current state i do think its fun and playable! just don't expect to win every time. KEEP IT UP DEVS :)    … Expand

I played both sides played all class and fiends, have unlocked 90% all perks/spells they actually did a good job on this.     This game Moves fast since the relaunch they have already had 4 major updates to fix problems and are already announcing a chapter 2 update to add more content. TBH this game feels way better then DBD ever will plus this game has a killer queue time so you know if you going have to wait unlike DBD where I wait 15 mins for a game only to get a DC.

    For new Players i cannot recommend the game at the moment.
    After trying again yesterday for an hour we decided to give it a rest until there will be changes comming.
    So far 3 hours in we are just above the threshhold for a refund.

Its a hard game, you need to cooperate to defeat the killer and stay together to not get massacred so get ready for some 2 minutes match where everybody dies.     You can get perks for survivors, sadly not for the killers, that will complement your gamestyle. They also added skins for all characters and items/weapons, which is pretty neat to customize your character.
    They also also added spider themed look to all the maps and reworked the gym map.

    But there is still room for improvement, match making is still an issue for some, but it's going to be fixed. Same with voice chat. The perfomance overall needs so tuning due to framerate issues some expirience.

    I would recommend to atleast give it a try and see if you like it or not.    … Expand

    I would very much recommend to get it, it can be really fun at some times if your team isn't AFK or doing nothing all match. If the team is actually doing something it can be really fun even if you lose. Good mechanics but sometimes frame drop out of nowhere.. not very many bugs and not very hard to learn when you start off.

And they at least are not dumb like in DBD, they can speak, they say funny things each of them. The maps are beautifully original, I have not yet seen a bug apart from the small server bug like in all games but with little money it is sure that they can do a little bit too much so it is why we should help and support them! The only flaw in the game for me, Last Year has no story but! If we support the game, let us dwell on this wonder, I am sure that they will work with the community and that they will create stories for the game!

Killing the killers or the "classmates" serves no purpose as they both respawn throughout the match. The killers do not have enough tools to combat a 5 person team with all their tools and different setups. The devs seem really nice but this balance desperately needs reworked. With how long the respawn timer is on killers they definitely need to be A LOT stronger than they are. There's a reason this game is 20$ - save your money.… Expand

I had a lot of fun playing both classmate and fiend, there are some problems like the long queue times when playing as a fiend and a problem when playing as the strangler in which a player disconnected when I grabbed him and I got stuck on the animation until I died. There should be tutorials as new players don't know what to do sometimes especially classmates, butThis game is very fun! I had a lot of fun playing both classmate and fiend, there are some problems like the long queue times when playing as a fiend and a problem when playing as the strangler in which a player disconnected when I grabbed him and I got stuck on the animation until I died.     They have launched various updates which made the game much more enjoyable in my opinion, before you couldn't get a single killer match in like an hour sometimes, now you have a queue number and normally within 15m ur playing as killer.
    Still lot of time but thats normal, when everyone wants to be killer am I right.
    So in my opinion the Devs have been very active on reacting to feedback and launching updates according with it, which is amazing!

    Now talking about the game itself:
    People say killers are OP, needs balance etc... and tbh in my opinion, it doesn't! If a killer faces a team of classmates that know what they are doing, they can pretty much avoid every Insta Kill, get scrap quickly because they know scrap routes and just give the killer a rly rly hard time. Now if killer's face a team that is just well, wandering around like dumb AI, then yes your gonna see those reviews saying "Killers are OP...." they're not, I play both sides and I can tell when I team is good, I see myself out of options and i'm like, wtf can I do?

    One thing I need to mention is, they need to put something against killers who DC, if a killer is salty and ur whole team gonna win, they leave and you win no rewards, this should be implemented with a system like DbD has.

    Classmates:
    I think every class its very useful when crafting items, but thats not rly for the Scout in my opinion. Scout basically has a Smoke, Shotgun and Adrenaline Shot. The smoke helps a ton in escapes at the end, the shotgun even tho the item is being worked and sometimes I feel it barely does damage and its a waste of scrap, its not that bad, now the adrenaline shot I don't see it being usefull at all. You can move quicker and carry things quicker, but when your a solo player and team doesn't listen, its just an item to be there. Sadly I don't have any ideias but I belive this item should be replaced by something more useful

    Fiends:
    I think they are all fine less for the Slasher, if in a open area a good team can bully you and not let you despawn or catch them, if this was with giant, strangler or spider, this wouldn't happen, so maybe Slasher could have more stamina to run and get out of sigh of survivors id say and be way more scarier if chasing you and not something you can toy with.

    Conclusion:
    It's a fun game, defnitely a good option besides DbD on its genre, it has no ranks or progress system for now, but I hope they make something about this two things too later because its gonna help the game a ton in my opinion. Sometimes u can get bad teams that Dc, sometimes killers can feel op due to teams, but in general its a good game and I'm happy to have it!    … Expand

    This game is amazing I bought the discord version back when it first came out and enjoyed it then, but now its even better with a lot of balancing between the two versions its so much better now and funner absolutely amazing. I also love how if you bought the discord version you can get this version for free like i did, one of the best games I've played in a while!

Most of the concerns from the first game(Last Year: The Nightmare) have been fixed perfectly in my opinion, the shocker needs to be used more wisely with the new changes and the scrap prices for the items seem really good, especially since there is a spell to reduce the prices for items which balances it out even more for more higher level gameplay. I also like the Giant changes where if you grabbed someone they're not dead instantly and now the new changes to traps make it more difficult for the Strangler to kill off of a hook chain which I think was needed. The updates for the game are amazing so far, it helped the launch run a lot more smoothly than I expected. If we get more updates frequently to balance in small amounts we can eventually find the middle ground in hopefully the community and the creators. This game is looking good in my eyes even though the outrage, it has a solid future with adding killers and classmates and more maps. The videos coming out from all the youtubers from Ohm and Monto etc. seem to be gaining some traction and can help this community immensely. Sorry for jumping from compliment to compliment but I am just a kid that has followed this game from the start and I think the balancing has come a long way for high level games.… Expand

I definitely recommend the game minus matchmaking issues which aren't terrible in my opinion this is an amazing game to get for just $20 and its going to be especially fun if you have a group of friends to play with. There are 5 survivors on a team. Killer is also satisfying to play because even when you may lose you can reflect on the good kills you got and continue to do better.     Me and my friends spent longer then 30mins to get into the same lobby. It kept searching for a server and after a while only 1 or 2 of us got put in a game lobby, while the other was still in the party menu.     I played about 4 matches and they were all pretty fun. Scary game that feels balanced if a bit hectic.
    If you can get a 5 more friends or how many it is that is needed to play, you'll have fun with it.
    If you can't, good luck finding a game.

    Also, a bit of a shame the game doesn't let you randomize who gets to be the killer so you have to start a new lobby each time you want to change killer.

    One of the biggest disappointments I have ever felt in a video game. An obvious cash grab.. Base game mechanics are still a core problem, even after 5 years since their original KickStarter and 1 year after their failed Discord launch.

    DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It is a pile of trash.

    1: The killer will dominate and stop your team from gaining the momentum they need to win.
    2: The classmates know how to communicate and be great team players and they dominate the killer because they got momentum and the killer cannot stop them.
    3: It will basically be a tug of war like match where both sides shine which ends in the killer getting 2 or more kills most of the time.
    I will admit that there are some flaws with this game like some bugs and balancing (as mentioned earlier) but the devs have been putting up a lot of updates for the game and as long as they care and keep updating the game to fix the problems it has now, I personally think this game will become something that can compete with a game like Dead by Daylight    … Expand

    Игра в состоянии идеи выглядит интересно: группа студентов разрабатывают план по спасению из локации аки Pay Day 2 и спасаются от убийцы. От сюда следует, что сравнить с Dead by Daylight уже глупо. игра напоминает больше Left 4 Dead. Хотя бы тем, что, если выжившего убили, то он появится в закрытой комнате, которую может открыть другой живой тиммейт, во время игры убийца может меняться, что убийца может телепортироваться, когда его никто не видит. последнее меня, как человека, которые наиграл пару сотен часов в Dead by Daylight просто выводит из себя так как пропадает майдгеймс. Радиуса террора тоже нет, то есть любая встреча с убийцей будет для вас всегда сюрпризом. И всегда неприятным, потому что скорее всего вы ему ничего не сделаете если у вас под рукой не будет трубы, на голове шлема, а рядом хотя бы один тиммейт.

    Дизайн локации это отдельная тема. Условно проход к двери ведет под землю лестница куда нужно идти. других путей нет. Убийца просто разбрасывает ловушки в ряд и пока вы будет их ломать, то вас будут ждать сами знаете кто :)

    И знаете, что ещё бесит? Если вы играете за выжевшего, то из 6 студентов в игре будет дай бог четверо, а если вы таки дожили до поиска матча за маньяка, то вас кинут к команде из 6 человек, у которых будут и фонарики, и ружья и фиг вы им что сделаете ибо по одному не ходит никто.

    Ещё раздражает местная "кровавая паутина", которая прокачивается, ну очень неохотно, а некоторые предметы требуют выполнения некоторых условий в игре. Типа "сбегите всей командой ни разу не умерев". Интересно, но в Dead by Daylight было куда интереснее придумано.

    Если бы игра была релизнута в Steam у разработчиков было бы больше возможностей развить игру за счет форумов и отзывов. В итоге в игре баланса нет, оптимизации тоже. За год была добавлена аж 1 карта и маньяк паук. Ну офигеть работа какая проделана. Спасибо.    … Expand

    Она оставляет желать лучшего, текстуры выглядят отвратительно, тени, эффекты, освещение и гамма в игре не придают ей никакой атмосферы, каковой она должна быть. Местами бывают прогрузки текстур, и я далеко не один, кому довелось с этим столкнуться. В общем, я не знаю, что еще сказать насчет графики в этой игре, просто знайте - это ужасно.

Задумка разделить всех игроков по классам... она интересная, определенно, но в этой игре она выполнена худшим образом, из-за чего геймплей становится менее привлекательным. Медик, который если не захочет, то не будет хилить никого из команды и так далее. А все почему? Потому что игра практически никак не вознаграждает игрока за какие-либо полезные действия, если ты и будешь делать что-то полезное, ты все равно получишь мизерную награду, не стоившую всех твоих усилий, которые ты приложил в игре. В игре также есть место нашему старому другу - кемпенгу. Находятся такие сурвы, которые предпочтут отсидеться за каким-нибудь шкафчиком, или чем-нибудь еще, в ожидании... в ожидании того, когда вся остальная команда сделает всю необходимую работу, и он спокойно добежит к выходу, или же если команда погибнет, он просто предпочтет отсидеться до конца таймера, или же ливнуть.    … Expand

    This game has improved alot siince the release on discord and they have already realeased a new trailer for chapter 3 in a good amount of time after the releasde of chapter one.     Game is alot of fun, very well executed. The only thing I'd recommend is to take the VOIP feature and extend it to all players, including the killer. SO many horror films have the killer speaking to and taunting the victims, so it only makes sense to add it here!

    Way better than DbD. Matchmaking issues still need worked on, as of the date this was posted. Other than that, the game is super enjoyable and the furthest thing from toxic.

    I played this on discord before, but the game was just lacking a progression system and a customization system. However, now that it launched on steam, the game has been reworked and is so much fun (strangler is OP). Anyways it has changed a lot since discord, and most of the negative reviews are complaining about things that have been fixed, so don't judge it on this.

In the twelve days it's been out, we've gotten several patches addressing the current issues with the game such as performance and matchmaking, along with a teaser for the next chapter of the game.     The game is fun to play, especially with some friends. It does have a few bugs here and there but so far over 20 hours in, none have made it unplayable. And unlike other games in the genre, dying doesn't take you out of the game fully, just give us some time to kill the giant spider between us and your new closet home :)… Expand

    The game is very fun and seems to be fairly balanced. It runs smoothly, the graphics are good, both sides are fun.
    It is very hard staring off and even frustrating starting off. If I were new to the game, I would first watch a video on it so you have an understanding of how both sides work.

Я пробовал сменить сервер загрузки, пробовал просто ждать, пробовал пересоздавать лобби, но исход один - я не смог отыграть на маньяке НИ ОДНОЙ игры за потраченные мною два часа. Хорошая ли это игра? Может быть. Стоит ли её покупать и играть? Однозначно нет. Возможно, через полгода-год игра либоЯ провел в игре чуть больше двух часов. За эти два часа в прайм-тайм я не нашёл ни одной игры.     I had the Discord version of Last Year and I had a great time playing. There are still some issues in the game but the team is working to fix them as soon as they can. With the token system there are now different ways to play the game. Far better than the Discord version and has a promising future ahead.

    The game is pretty good, don't expect a completely finished game though, its pretty much bare bones. Both sides are fun to play, though classmate can get pretty frustrating if your team sucks and there is no ranking system yet (the game doesn't have the playerbase to have one).

Queue times are low for classmates and acceptable for fiends but that come at the expense of matching you with people all over the world and the killer is always the host.

    The game had a rough start when it launched on Discord, they never patched it, and the game was dead in a few months. HOWEVER, now they patch it regurarly and the game is really fun in general.

But that's mainly because I don't really like the fact that the spell goes away after you use it for 1 game. The feeling of killing the killer is also really satisfying, because you can actually FIGHT BACK. They already made balance changes and I gotta say as someone who plays killer a lot, that the changes are really good. They nerfed killers in general and buffed survivors. But this is a very fair change. The devs are now pushing patches out quickly and working on the game a lot, it seems really promising and I hope this game will become more and more popular. ^-^
