This Chapter is fairly average unfortunately. We waited nearly half a year for something so average. To me, it just does not contain the value for the time spent developing the chapter. The puzzles are simple, and the second playthroughs become so quick because you remember what to do. In terms of the story/voice acting, it is not very special. The first chapter had a better experience and better story in general.

This story was not that memorable or enjoyable, but I really hope they will be able to do better in the next chapter.

The second chapter in the new King's Quest plays like a "survival simulator" where you basically have to choose who survives and who suffers; it's definitely an important lesson to learn for a newly crowned king and I actually don't mind it at all. While Rubble Without a Cause echoes many positive aspects of its predecessor, the gloomy story and unimaginative quests turn what should have been another fun fairy tale into something of a death march. Yet even with these significant flaws, the overall charm of the visuals and voice acting kept me playing and left me optimistic that the series will redeem itself in the next chapter.

While Rubble Without A Case is still a good time, it lacks the variety and excellent pacing of King’s Quest’s first chapter.

Episode Two is obviously shorter but still enjoyable and entertaining. It offers great voice acting and an outstanding plot again. Something doesn’t work as intended yet we can recommend the Rubble Without a Cause to all adventure players.
