En general, mi impresión del juego es positiva, disfruté de varios aspectos y considero que es una experiencia sólida. A pesar de algunos aspectos que podrían mejorarse, siento que Killing Floor logra mantenerme entretenido y comprometido con su acción y atmósfera.

When it comes to co-op zombie survival games, "Killing Floor" holds a special place, and I used to compare it to other popular titles like Left 4 Dead and Zombie Army. They form the big three in the genre, offering thrilling undead encounters. However, as time has passed, more contenders have emerged, expanding the choices for co-op zombie game enthusiasts.

In terms of visuals, "Killing Floor" is undeniably beautiful, capturing a dark and eerie atmosphere that sets the stage for intense gameplay. And speaking of gameplay, it's where the game truly shines. The experience is incredibly fun and addicting, drawing players into a world of relentless action and endless hordes of zombies.

The satisfaction of taking down enemies and witnessing the slow-motion effects is incredibly rewarding, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the game. The adrenaline rush that comes with each successful kill is a major highlight for many players, and I couldn't agree more.

Throughout my time with the game, I found myself immersed in the experience, finding little to dislike about the title. "Killing Floor" stays true to its identity and purpose, offering pure rampage and relentless zombie killing. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not, which is refreshing in a world filled with games trying to be everything at once.

While "Killing Floor" might not have as much co-op gameplay as Left 4 Dead and Zombie Army, it carves its own niche with a focus on fast-paced action and combat.

As for the current population numbers, because of the existence of a sequel, I am not entirely sure of the details, but my time with the game left a lasting impression, and I can confidently say it's a game worth exploring for any fan of the co-op zombie survival genre. "Killing Floor" delivers on its promises and provides an exhilarating experience for those seeking relentless zombie mayhem.

Killing Floor is a true classic and, in my opinion, one of the best wave shooters today.

The principle is simple, hordes of mutated zombie-like monsters, called Zeds, are on the loose and you must survive their onslaught in a certain number of waves. After each wave, you earned some cold cash that you can spend at the trader that then opens. You can buy ammo and new weapons here. Be quick tough because she will only be there for a few minutes before closing and starting the next wave.

Killing Floor has a simple story, set in London, about a scientist who created the Zed’s but then the experiment backfired, the Zed’s mutated to their grotesque forms and they break out of the facility. The scientist, Kevin “The Patriarch” Clamely is behind the experiments and is also twisted and genetically modified. He is the end boss of the game after completing all the waves.

Besides from the standard wave mode, you can also play trough some story missions which holds the same principle, but with an actual goal to complete. Find samples, find the exit, bring gold bars to a certain drop point, that kind of stuff. It is a nice diversion from the standard game play.

In Killing Floor, you can play as many different classes that you can level up to unlock more abilities. You can be a medic, a firebug, a sharpshooter and many more. By killing enemies with weapons that fit your class, you earn experience for that class and, on higher levels, unlock special bonuses to become stronger.

The graphics look great and detailed and they have a grim and dark atmosphere, fitting the game well. There is all kinds of stuff going on in the background like captive Zed’s in tanks, burning cars and spooky fog in the forest level. The animations and gore is perfect and the added rag doll makes the game feel more realistic.

Sound wise, Killing Floor nailed it. Bullet impacts, weapon fire, explosions and enemy screams and grunts are solid and bone chilling at times. It really enhances the experience. And on that note, the music is epic. Many tracks are heavy metal songs and for me, it cannot get wrong. My personal favorite is the “Infectious Cadavers” track that plays throughout the story missions and sometimes in the wave modes.

The controls are fluent and the extra challenge comes from the fact that you do not have a corsair to aim at enemies. You need to aim down your sight to aim properly, a unique feature as far as I can tell.

The only issue I had with Killing Floor is the terrible matchmaking for online play. It is one of the worst kinds of systems in place. When joining a game, it works fine. You refresh the list of available servers, choose one and you are good to go. But when you want to play with friends for example, you need to make a killing floor server with open source tools, all kinds of next level Linux scripts and even then, it may not show up for your buddies when trying to join. I get that dedicated servers are not for everyone, but as far as I know, Killing Floor is the only game that uses this kind of matchmaking.

But overall, Killing Floor is a fantastic game and, by now, a real classic. Its successor resolved all the issues and has far more content now, but I can always return to this blast from the past.

    Absolutely recommend this game.

For the same reason, it currently suffers from the recent free giveaway as the servers are full of newbies trying to learn the game.

What I loved the most about Killing Floor was the shooting mechanics. I have played shooters for more than 20 years now and rarely have I seen games where it feels so satisfying to shoot an enemy. This is not just about the weapons, but also how the enemies and sound & visual effects react to your bullets. It really feels great.

The game also has great gameplay value. You can’t just jump into it and expect to do anything more than licking the floor if you are playing on a difficulty higher than normal. Your approach should be to start with easy or normal, learn the game mechanics, get accustomed to your perk and gain some levels on your specific perk before you move to higher difficulties. Otherwise, you will simply not survive as Killing Floor is a quite unforgiving game.

Talking about perks, I have tried Sharpshooter, Firebug and Demolition in my 75+ hours of Killing Floor and each perk felt like playing a different game. If you don’t like your perk so much, definitely give a chance to some of the others (firebug being my favorite). And finally, the maps. There are dozens of maps with unique atmosphere. Beating one game in each map for the first time should take you around 30 hours. To conclude, Killing Floor is one of the best online shooters out there. If you liked any of the Left 4 Dead titles and you are ok with a similar but much darker game, look no further.

PS: Toy Master DLC is quite boring, imbalanced and in my opinion is not suitable for the Killing Floor mechanics. Feel free to ignore it.

Great multiplayer experience, with memorable hard-rock music playing constantly playing, and waves of Zeds that you have to fight. What makes this even better is the Steam workshop content, adding even cooler and sometimes difficult maps to survive on.

I do honestly think co-op is where the game shines its brightest, not only because it makes it easier to survive, it's because then you get to feel the magic feeling of teamwork, with players constantly sharing money, just because it helps everyone on the team out. The varying monster types are intresting to see as well, because you've got your fat zeds, crawler zeds, screaming zeds, invisble zeds, rocket-launching zeds and your normal every-day zed (there is plenty more zeds after that, but you get the gist).

There are holiday events that will happen on (who guessed it?) holidays or in the same month as the holiday. These events give you the opportunity to get a new character when you get all of the achivements, which is pretty awesome, not to mention the holiday maps that are always unique and intresting. I think the gameplay is enhanced when you play with friends, because communicating will be a lot easier and it's just fun to blast some zeds with you buddies.

Overall this game is pretty sweet, but it is a good idea to buy it on sale in case you think it's a little too repetitive for your taste.
And that concludes this review of this awesome zed genocide simulator.

If this game would have more content, I could have given a real nice score. Something like 9? But this got to be a joke, 3 maps and 1 boss?

So anyway, the game still reach 7 for me. The graphics are great and very dated. The sound effects are nice too but the music could have be better. For the gameplay, it does not reach the greatness of L4D2 imo but still we have something real good.

However the game also has perks which you can level up by dealing damage with certain weapons or killing specific enemies. These perks give you huge boosts which drastically alter good of a job you can do. These perks also have insanely high requirements. This turns the game into a huge grind where you're just trying to level up perks so you even have a chance at surviving on higher difficulty levels. I don't think it helps the game at all and only adds to the repetitive nature. The game has a server browser which is nice, however teams only consist of 6 players, so lobbies fill up quick and it makes it a pain to try and play with friends unless one of you is able to host a server. If you don't host a server, plan on having other players join in as well. Overall I enjoyed my time with it but it was too repetitive to warrant a high score. Expand

One of the funnest co-op shooters I know. KF has good gun mechanics and a fair amount of maps to choose. The recent introduction of Objective Mode has added an extra degree of variation to the gameplay, and the seasonal events add a welcomed cosmetic change to the Zeds. Although the overall gameplay formula is rather simplistic and repetitive in nature, the game manages to somehow remain entertaining even when playing the same maps over and over.

Now for the negatives. Firstly, enemy hitboxes can occasionally be wrongly placed, and although the user interface is perfectly functional, its presentation is a bit crude and unrefined. Visuals are slightly dated, and some maps are poorly optimised, causing unreasonable levels of stuttering and framerate drops even in high-end PCs (Steamland and Stronghold in particular). I would also prefer if the game encouraged mobility in teams, as the most efficient method of surviving seems to be just finding a good place to camp, even in HoE difficulty. This is fun for a awhile, but certainly does become a little stale.

The difficulties are merciless which I wish was done more but once you go through it so many times, it becomes predictable. I personally loved the game enough to buy all the DLC but then again I also wound up playing the majority of the game solo.

The game itself is fun however there's alot broken in the game too. The server select is a mess, often not working properly. The zombies often get in fights with themselves and even rarer they'll tag along beside you like a faithful pet for some unknown reason instead of attacking you.

All in all, I loved the game and highly recommend it. IF not for the gameplay, then for the glorified and extensive ways to kill them all.

  1. Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.
  2. Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.
