    The best zombie game I've played in years. Left for dead had talent, but the sheer Cockney screams of "Someone shat that b*tch up!" more then overrule. Gameplay is non-pretentious, basically a good old fashioned point into crowd and fire deal, with an interesting trader function. Plus, the teamplay benefit is well enforced- the zombies come from everywhere, even with the biggest The best zombie game I've played in years.     This game is really addicting, fast-paced, and requires the best teamwork to pass and conquer the waves coming at you. It has only one mode and purpose, but many will be surprised how many hours will be spent just killing every thing in sight. If someone doesn't enjoy this game I feel sorry for them.     Now Im not usually one to enjoy a game just because it's fun, as I am an eye candy junkie and a "good story renders good game" kind of person, But for killing floor I have to make an exception. It is absolutely THE most fun and replayable game I may have ever played. Where Left 4 Dead lacked in challenge and just pure grittiness, here it is, in a convinient $20 price tag. weapons are Now Im not usually one to enjoy a game just because it's fun, as I am an eye candy junkie and a "good story renders good game" kind of person, But for killing floor I have to make an exception. It is absolutely THE most fun and replayable game I may have ever played. Where Left 4 Dead lacked in challenge and just pure grittiness, here it is, in a convinient $20 price tag. weapons are hella fun to use (shotgun packs a blow never before seen in a video game) Classes are fun to level, but in the end you'll find the support class the obvious choice for a standalone defense agianst the specimens. Although, the game focuses on cooperation and therefore a variety of classes IS important. For instance, the firebug class is great for cooperation as he can efficiently weild a flamethrower which greatly weakens and suppresses enemies to be picked off, and also rarely requires a reload. Gibbing heads off of specimens with a chainsaw as your teamates pick off enemies behind you by rifle is also a great blast. Overall what really saves the replay value of this game is fast paced rounds, numerous custom maps (as there is currently a very devoted community) And most importantly a true challenge for players who choose hard or scuicidal difficulty, making the numerous achievements very hard, but rewarding to attain. Even on normal the game is quite hard becase of the final boss each round (aka PATRIARCH) which is VERY,VERY HARD to kill and requires heavy teamwork and quick planning (which you have only 30 secs. to a minute to do so) In my opinion He should be one of the hardest bosses of all time, considering how often he wipes out a trained 6 player team no sweat. Overall, a MUST buy for all gamers looking for a gritty, challenging coop "zombie" shooter.… Expand

    I rated this game for two reasons.
    1) I'm here, why not.
    2) It's score is far too low for a brilliant game such as this. Fun cannot be any more brutal than this, and I would prefer this to Left4Dead anyday, seeing as though it is cheaper and more enjoyable.

    Who doesnt like a zombie killing game? and you can make your own levels and increase the player count? as well as what zombies spawn? not even close the the 71 it got... although the last update with the weapons kinda changed the game to be more easy. Still this game should be in the eighty's.

    I had so much fun and the Game was just a fun aborsion. It wasent the most detailed game. Neather was DOOM! but we still enjoyed it. So to trip wire please Keep up the good work, Besides the epic game play with the Wide spread of weapons

    Killing floor is a enjoyable and cooperative game. This game takes "Playing with Friends" to a new depth in online coop gaming. The gameplay is extremely good with random specimen spawns and texture editing. Bravo Tripwire And as for the people who do not see how good this game really is, I seriously doubt you have much friends either online or in real life nor the capability to cooperate Killing floor is a enjoyable and cooperative game.     Gritty coop survival game. This game has its own style and feel. Id rate it higher than l4d series. This game deserves more attention.

    I tried killing floor out when they had a free weekend on Steam, I wanted to get my moneys worth out of free, so i played the shit out of it, 30 hours of free later, i bought it on monday. 6 Player classes mean you can easily adjust your playing style if its not working. $15/232 hours and i'm gonna play some more tonight ;)

    A pure joy to play. Great replay value. Highly customizable for those with the skills to do so. A step above L4D in my opinion. Sure the game may not be as "pretty" as L4D but it's no ugly ducking either. The games graphics are quite nice but the gameplay is where it steals the show and that's far more important to someone like me. I really can't see how you can't A pure joy to play. Overall, I give this game a 10/10 simply because the ratio of the hours I've played verses money I spent exceeds 10; in fact, it exceeds 20. eat that L4D.… Expand

    I normally never bother writing reviews for games on sites like this. But I felt that some things had to be said. Don't listen to the idiotic critics. They probably spent an hour with the game after it released and jumped to a conclusion after that. Also, some of their score %s seem quite low for the amount of good things they say about the game. In the past... almost half a year since this game released, I have put hundreds of hours into it. Literally around 10x the length of time that L4D held my interest. It is really fun, the guns handle much better (there's ironsights!) and there are much more of them, more enemy types, TONS of user created maps, and, best of all, the game is challenging on the higher difficulties without being cheap about it like L4D is. If you're a skilled player you can survive on your own in most situations, instead of getting pinned down by a hunter/smoker the second your other team mates die. It's $20, just buy it and play it for a few days and judge for yourself.… Expand

    Only bad thing is bugs and lack of content. But since this is TRIPWIRE we are talking about those will soon be fixed and the game will be flawless.

    It seems Killing Floor is destined to be that rare gem of a game, loved and played by those who accidentally discover it, as opposed to having advertising and review sites forced down their throats... which all in all is probably better for the game and its community but still, its a shame that Killing Floor has flown under the radar. A Raw mod with a few maps and a lot of potential, and that potential is very quickly being realized by its community, with 32 Community made maps in its first 9 days, Killing Floor looks set to have as illustrious a life as the engine its based off. I lost more hours of my life to UT2004 than I care to remember, and Killing Floor is becoming an equal obsession. besides, nothing quite beats the feel of fighting an epic boss on a 100 man server who has more hit points than god... and actually taking him down. Killing Floor is an amazingly fun and addictive game, with whats shaping up to be a highly talented and creative modding community ported over from the Unreal Modding community... and all this for a price tag of $20? Killing Floor, Its Unreal Tournament with Zombies... it should be a no brainier.… Expand

    This game is just plain fun. Its got a decent ok gameplay by yourself but it truly is amazing when it comes to co-op. This game rules and truly stands out by itself. It feels like a good old TD on WC3 in an FPS environment. Left 4 Dead = Point A to Point B Killing Floor = Don't die, kill the boss (Also don't die)

    It might not be the game for everyone, but for me its achieved a place deep in my heart right next to Doom1. Thats right.
    After about 150h of playtime i STILL keep realising and learning new tactics and details in game dynamics. There's just so much to this game that you will glance within the first 2 hours.     I see people say this game is too repetitive, it's just a copy of l4d and it's just a retail version of the ut4mod... To all of these i say... TRY THE GAME! There's no single player, but what the hell, multiplayer is awesome enough!! You wont stop playing, also after 3/4 hr of consecutive gaming. And if you find some friends to play with in a very co-op team (not like the I see people say this game is too repetitive, it's just a copy of l4d and it's just a retail version of the ut4mod...     THIS GAME ROCKS .... in my honest opinion better than L4D just a bit .... I like the gameplay and the weapons are pretty fun ... perks are quite useful and each lvl helps you attain to the next ... the difficulty of the game is pretty well balanced hard is pretty hard and it requires good communication of players to defeat the patriarch

    overall nice game and only 20 bucks

I must say the first time i played i thought it was crap because i played just in solo mode. coz all the servers were laggin. well after few weeks we got a server so i started playing this game online and oh surprise this game is wooow makes u feel the adrenaline specially when u have to run coz a Fleshpound or Scrake is after you lol. For those who said this gamer is crap, they are crap.     Awesome! Game is much better that others that gave it a low rating said. If you have a good vid card (8800GTX) you can max all the details and it's beautiful!! HDR, specular lighting, water effects, etc and on and on. Well worth the $20 asking price. Very underrated IMHO. If you like zombies, and like shooters.. this game is great and reasonably priced!

    This game does NOT deserve to only have 70 of rating. It's probably one of the most addicting zombie survival games I've ever played. Although it may be slightly repetitive, I just never get tired of slicing heads off with my katana :)

    This game is pure win. Stop bashing it just because it used to be a UT04 mod.

    Lots of fun, actually requires players to act as a team inorder to survive. the game may be simple but it is executed really well. over all i think killing floor is totally underrated. im looking forward to any addons in the future.

    I even had more fun in this than in Left for Dead. I'd recommend this over that game a well. better play and more fun to be had without a story getting in the way. Just good ol' fashioned zombie shooting.

The price tag is also less then half of comparable games, with the option to put DLC character packs for only $2 to support the company. Once the countdown ends, a trail of red lights will lead you to the weapon shop. You can run to the shop and buy stronger weapons and armor. After that, the next wave starts. If your team survives all the waves, a cut scene appears and the boss comes out...Kill the boss and you win the wave and move on to the next map. Mind you that the game allows you to vote for maps. Going back to the "level ups"...Once you get used to the game, you can start focusing on leveling up your player so you can obtain stronger weapons and armor.     The game is terrific. It's heart pumping and a lot of fun. There are a ton of guns and classes to choose from. Definitely worth adding to your gaming collection!

As you level up each perk you'll notice the guns are more steady for you, as if you are actually becoming more proficient as you go. 7 classes to choose from: Medic, Support This game is easily a 10. The shooting mechanics feel real. When you start out at lvl 0 you'll notice there's quite a bit of recoil in some guns, and your shotgun doesn't penetrate that well. As you level up each perk you'll notice the guns are more steady for you, as if you are actually becoming more proficient as you go. 7 classes to choose from: Medic, Support Specialist, Sharpshooter, Commando, Berzerker, Firebug and Demolitions. Each Class has there own set of multiple weapons to choose from. You have a weight limit, and your movement speed is dependent on how much weight you are carrying. Also, there's ZED time. Basically "bullet time" it's activated when you or someone else in the map does something "impressive" like a major crit or killing multiple specimens with one shot etc. Everyone on the map goes into ZED time and your reaction time is improved for a very short time, in which you have the opportunity to line up perhaps a couple head shots. There are a couple classes that even have the ability to extend the ZED time once it's activiated, depending on whether or not the circumstances are right. I played L4D when it first came out...for quite a whiiiiiile...I got my Zoey up to lvl...er...honestly, L4D is great. It's just like most other shooters tho. One thing i love about Killing Floor is that there are no crosshairs. If you choose not to use the iron sights then you'll really be firing from the hip, and you'll have to learn where you're aiming, kuz sometimes you don't have the luxury of using the iron sights. But the learning curve is nothin. If you've played games like Crysis and Far Cry 2 on the hardest difficulty you'll fit right in. Be prepared to really work together tho, the Devs did a great job of balancing everything. You'll be able to tell when you stop playing on normal and hard modes and get yourself lvled up to 4 or higher and start playing on the suicidal mode...talk about adrenaline!… Expand

    this game totaly beets l4d 100% and for recently made full game? just think what the owners could do in the future while in l4d its just mindless shooting even if its better graphics? its the game inside that counts you can get level ups in kf for something to aim for and theres a totaly new update every month to sweeten the deal.

    great game, just amazing... fills your bloodlust within seconds. great for people that love exploding things into mush... especially the ZED time to make things more dramatic, makes you want to come back to the under rated genre

    As some have stated, this is a love it or hate it game. The idea of comparing killing floor with L4D is absurd, the only similarity in game play is that there is a truck-load of zombies to kill. Myself? I'd recommend killing floor to everyone and anyone.

    I believe this game is a cross between Doom 3 and Left 4 Dead. It has aspects of both, is fun, and is remarkably entertaining. I believe it poses a good challenge, and is very fun online.

    I have to say an AWESOME game, it is easy as well as hard you can solo it but it would take time and the first round is easy where as the rest are hard, one of the best games i have played. If i had to chose out of KF and L4D; KF is a mile ahead, it is true it is hard to compare them but the fact is what one scares u more what one do you spend your time on and what one do u enjoy to play.

    I played this game since it came out as a mod for UT2k4 and I have gotta say it vastly improved from the mod version, it really feels like a full blown game now.     About 20x better than Left 4 Dead! This game is the best co-op experience i ever had. I could play this game for hours and never get tired of it. Their is a single-player by the way and its crazy fun! It also has some very good features. Like the slow motion, trading, and giving money away! I LOVE THIS GAME!

The only things I've found bad about killing floor is its stupid phrases the characters, and trader says. The trade says the most retared things I've ever heard ,literally she sounds like she has down syndrome when she talks. The game could have been better. Needed more content when it first came out. The same 5 lvls gets old after awhile and characters are very limited and could have had more work done on them. They have released the outbreak character pack which gives you four new characters to play as for $2. Yeah i know its BS that they are making people pay for new for content let alone characters. Its a mod the DLC should come free. But they have recently announced the FREE DLC heavy metal. It will include a whole new map, new weapons such as the katana and the ak-47! They're also saying there's a lot more free DLC to come. Differently from most survival games there are perks in the game such as beserk, sharp shooter, medic, support specialist, and commando. All have equally beneficial advantage to them. You can also get ZEDtime which you get from killing a good amount of infected. Zedtime slows down time, very useful when you have a clot on you and surrounded by infected. Killing floor has a decent amount of weapons ranging from melee, to dual wielding and the usual shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifle. This game definitely has a lot more weapons then L4D which was one of the biggest let downs. After playing killing floor I've learned this game isnt for anyone. If your one of the people who is impatient and goes off on your own cause you think your a bad ass this isn't your game. This game is team based meaning having to work together, without team work you'll end up like poster 1. So if your looking for a game that's fast past, challenging,co op, and different from most survival horror games then killing floor is the game for you. I really suggest buying this game its only $20 and release DLC often. So if you love gory zombie games this is a must buy then and even if you don't its definitely worth trying out.… Expand

The weapon selection and iron cross effects gives the game a whole different perspective to zombie shooters, gotta love it. Alas, the maps; there are so many of them being made from the community it's impossible to be able to play them all. There's so many other things about this game which makes me think why this doesnt have an 80+ metascore review, bunch a wanker reviewers always expecting way too much especially from an indie game that was retailed from a mod.     the game is enjoyable, patching and support is dedicated ( 2 new weapons and a map just came out for free). new play modes are also on the way from TWI, all in all any other company would have made you pay 49.99$ for the original game, then made every addition on to that DLC and an extra 4.99 (*cough* FC2! *cough*).

Although Left 4 Dead has the best graphics of the two, this game has the Great Gameplay and Strong Teamwork, and Sweet graphics.     I've played this game more than any other game I've ever bought. I've been playing it for 2 months and I'm still eager to get home tonight to keep playing. I acknowledge some of the criticisms but at the end of the day, it's so fun, engaging, team-building, challenging and rewarding that some of the criticized details just don't matter. I simply love it.

    I really enjoy playing killing floor. For $20 it's a great buy. Also, it has a very active community with great maps coming out all the time.
    Another selling point is that it runs very wel on older computers and looks extremely good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good fragging game!

    This game is f***ing brilliant. I have no idea how it could be given a 70 on metagame score. Whereas Left 4 Dead magically gets a 89 for its horribly repetitive gameplay, lack of melee weapons, and "pretty" graphics. Finding a good group may be hard, but try finding any on L4D. Added bonus of great price $20, and FREE GAMEPLAY CHANGING DLCs (stick that in ur pipe and smoke it L4D2). 10/10

    If you like online co-op, then this game is one to buy. If you like story mode and can't enjoy the co-op until there is hopefully a campaign kind of mode, then don't buy it. It has alot of new stuff (characters, maps, guns) and alot of gameplay time. I play whenever I get a chance or get bored, and there are enough user made maps to enjoy when core maps get boring.

    This games is very "charming". It brings me back to a good old fashion FPS (but multiplayer) just going around killing nasty vision of hell with heavy metal blasting for the mood music (ie Doom). I miss this kind of thing and they just made it better giving it a character development system and free content updates. 10 bucks VERY well spent! It was created from the ground up and since its creation the support has been consistent and shows no signs of relenting, as a gamer i feel that this is invaluable. The game is action packed and relentless so its either go all out or go home which makes for a very enthralling gaming experience.

    If not for the 2 day free weekend on steam I would have NEVER known about this gem of a game. It's the most intense team based survival horror game I have ever played... and for the $15, it's money very well spent. Crazy, crazy game.

    I've play a lot of zombie survival games, and many will compare this game to left 4 dead. However, they are just different, if not complimentary, as when you get bored of one you switch to the other and back. Now, sure the graphics are cutting edge but they are NOT bad or choppy. Anyone giving this lower than a 5 really has no idea or is being paid to do so. Graphics hold their own I've play a lot of zombie survival games, and many will compare this game to left 4 dead.     This is an absolutely amazing game, the critics however are not. I have no idea why this game gets such a low and non-deserving metascore.. The game is AMAZING, its not repetitive, maybe on the last waves but you won't care, you want to play more.     It's very good at being overly intense, despite it having few maps in the beginning, they released the full sdk the day after. So you should expect loads of new content coming in. It's a good game to own, but, if you're looking for a lot of content fast you might want to wait a month or so.     Killing floor is what you would expect, loads of slow zombies trying to eat your brains while you defend your self with a chainsaw and a few grenades. You can play it all night long and it is so cheap so you could also buy your friend a copy. If your on the edge of buying it and reading though reviews, just get it, you won't regret it!

    Best co-op experience I've ever had! Played and really enjoyed the mod back in the old days. Quality of the retail release blew my head off. Skip the 3 beers you planned to drink tomorrow and buy THE GAME instead! You won't regret it!!!!

    Amazing game...Nothing else to say except try it and don't talk down on it if you haven't even played the game because this game doesn't get tiring fast, if you enjoy good gaming then you will be addicted to this game right off the bat.

    This game is an over looked gem. The weapon physics are much better than other games in the genre. The atmosphere created by Tripwire suits the game perfectly. This game is a bargain as far as value goes for the price.

    Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.

    Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.

    While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
