    This is one of the few games that I will revisit time and again. The use of perks and achievements keeps you coming back for more and the sustained refinement and free downloadable content (new guns, maps, achievements and even an additional perk since the initial release) means that the game has maintained it's replayability. Killing Floor is indeed a pure FPS game at its core. There is no story or anything of that sort, but the gameplay definitely makes up for it. It involves you fighting off waves of zombie-like creatures together with teammates, thenIt might look nothing special at first glance. "Just another zombie shooter" you might think. Well, you'll be partly right, but that's not the whole story. Killing Floor is indeed a pure FPS game at its core. There is no story or anything of that sort, but the gameplay definitely makes up for it. It involves you fighting off waves of zombie-like creatures together with teammates, then buying better guns and fighting even tougher creatures. The enemy creatures that you face are very intriguing. Each one has its own means of attacking you and its own backstory. There is also a very impressive selection of guns that you get to use to fight the creatures off. The players also get to choose their class. The class system is great, because it allows teammates to specialise, what means that teamwork is encouraged greatly. It's quite flexible still as you are not limited to certain weapons with each class. It's just that you get different bonuses. And then there are some minor RPG elements present. You get to level up each class and get better at certain types of weapons depending on your style of play. Killing Floor is an incredibly fun co-op shooter, but it's not so much its huge selection of guns or a lot of gore that make it so fun, but it's the sense of teamwork that it brings about to the players.     Quite honestly this is the very best zombie shooter currently on the market. First off, you actually have to try in order to survive, ammo is not exactly plentiful, you can only take a small amount of punishment before you get shredded to bits, and some of the specimens prey on your weaknesses. This greatly differs from another game I could mention where you're essentially a freakin' tank.Quite honestly this is the very best zombie shooter currently on the market. The graphics are actually pretty great, things are well textured and the animations are generally smooth. Another thing to add is that you actually have some form of progression (aka perks), something to keep track of how Uber1337pro you are compared to the next guy, and actually help you in battle. I would HIGHLY suggest that you buy this game if you haven't already, it provides thousands of hours of fun.… Expand

    8/10 for bugs, but elsewise this is the best zombie game I have ever played. It's simple in design, as there are waves of zombies that come and you and your buddies have to hold out until the patriarch, and then defeat him. The way everything meshes together makes an awesome game, but as I said before, I cannot rate it 10/10 due to bugs. It's an awesome game though, and I highly recommend it.

    Well Killing floor is a good game. It is AWESOME! It isnt too easy, because if you camp you're dead. Its all about teamwork which is great! I give my rating EXCLUDING the graphics. its still better than minecraft. You people that put negatives here are saying this is pretty much like minecraft. Bad graphics, bad gameplay, YOU'RE DESCRIBING MINECRAFT YET GIVING IT A 10 SCORE. Plus, the 4Well Killing floor is a good game. It is AWESOME! It isnt too easy, because if you camp you're dead.     The most entertaining monotonous zombie-shoot-em-up ever created. This is THE game to play when you're bored or need to take out some energy. There is no campaign, but the multiplay could go on forever. You kill zombies. You kill more zombies. Depending on the server you choose, the weapons/mods/maps get better and better.     A very excellent game, especially for the price. The developers are still adding new maps, weapons, achievements and holiday themed content all the time so it's nice to still have active support for the game. The gameplay is solid, and fun to play with friends and the perk system gives the game some nice RPG elements too.     I love Tripwire. It is 12/22/2011, and after 2 years, they STILL had a large free DLC. New guns for every perk, new maps, new achievements, bug fixes. I bought this game back in July of 2011, and even then I could find no bugs. Any negative review you see here is because they bought it at release, and the release was buggy, with few guns.     This game never gets boring because of the multiply perks given to you in the game and the determination to level up said perks makes this game all the more fun I highly recommend this game to everyone. this game is highly underrated and should be given more credit were its do.

    Yeah, the graphics are ok and the engine is outdated, but this is probably the best zombie game I've ever played. I don't understand how this game got bad reviews, I still enjoy it all of the time.

    What a diversity of enemies, variety of maps and assortment of weapons! Killing Floor is undeniably a fantastic title, with 40 co-op to 6 co-op, and difficulty levels to entertain according to skill improvement. A nice class system and satisfying impacts with shots, Killing Floor is the best arcade co-op to exist fun, crazy and broad.

    Really good co-op zombie-mutant killer game with wave, perks and shop mechanics for low price and with low PC requirements! People, which judge its score by only graphic are dumb.

    Very good game the visuals are great and the gpu cots is very low however t lacks a few elements such as Customizable weaponry and the flashlight is very buggy and lots of the environments are too dark without a flashlight

    7/3/2011: I picked up Killing Floor a while back on a whim, and was immediately glad I had- the deceptively simple gameplay and lasting appeal of the perks and constant new maps kept me interested in this game much longer then most shooters. Even now, when I haven't played for a bit, something pulls me back in- an event, a new character pack, a new weapon.     It might not be the game for everyone, but for me its achieved a place deep in my heart right next to Doom1. Thats right.
    After about 150h of playtime i STILL keep realising and learning new tactics and details in game dynamics. There's just so much to this game that you will glance within the first 2 hours. I must say the first time i played i thought it was crap because i played just in solo mode. coz all the servers were laggin. well after few weeks we got a server so i started playing this game online and oh surprise this game is wooow makes u feel the adrenaline specially when u have to run coz a Fleshpound or Scrake is after you lol. For those who said this gamer is crap, they are crap. Weapons are fantastic and very realistic feel. Graphs are not the best but come on the game play makes you forget the graphics I have games on my steam account such as COD5, COD4, FEAR2, Assasins Creed, Grid, L4D, CSS, TF2, Farcry 2 etc and my most played game guess what is!     This is an excellent game at such a low price. It's fun, lots of replayability and weapons. The reason it isn't a 10 are; poor graphics and that it takes so long to level up.

The price tag is also less then half of comparable games, with the option to put DLC character packs for only $2 to support the company. Pros: - Perk system lets you level up for bonuses for weapons you use more often. - Large assortment of play-styles(from perks specializing in melee range chainsaw action to long range bolt launchers) - The SDK means that there is a large door open for mod/map development. - Many different enemies ranging from mindless Clots to Fleshpounders that look like they where designed by a soviet zombie program. - Co-op play online with ZED-time for slow motion headshots Cons: -ZED-time can be annoying depending on what weapon you are using(namely ones that have to reload on every shot) -Graphics are average, but more then passible Final Verict: Definitely worth the $15-20 you'll spend on it. CO-OP play makes this game what it is, solo is fairly monotonous, but as soon as you get 2-3 people it starts becoming a blast.… Expand

The graphics are excellent, the random slowdowns are amazing, especially when you're pumping a specimen full of shotgun when one goes off. So basically, for the price, you get lots; fun action packed gameplay, great visuals, user generated content (Maps, Skins), and it's easy for anyone to learn. It's unfortunate this game was rated so low by critics like Absolute Games, they're obviously anal retentive...     I dont know why people are rating this so badly? Its an amazing game far better than any L4d game. KFs graphics arent bad? Are you kidding me? there quite amazing and the maps and skins on weapons are the best i have ever seen Oh and i gotit for 5 bucks :P plus i got 2 friends into it too and there already addicted to it

In multiplayer or solo mode, you start the game off by killing as many monsters as you can within the "wave countdown timer"...You are rewarded money for each kill you get. Once the countdown ends, a trail of red lights will lead you to the weapon shop. You can run to the shop and buy stronger weapons and armor. After that, the next wave starts. If your team survives all the waves, a cut scene appears and the boss comes out...Kill the boss and you win the wave and move on to the next map. Mind you that the game allows you to vote for maps. Going back to the "level ups"...Once you get used to the game, you can start focusing on leveling up your player so you can obtain stronger weapons and armor. Your player will get stronger, faster, and more efficient as you level up. Your level and achievements can be view online via steam profile.… Expand

However, Killing Floor (KF) is running on an old engine, which is modable (the game is a lot more exciting when you are able to fiddle around with weapons and maps). Another bit that excites it the number of characters. $1.99 for a DLC Character pack? Come on, it's a bloody bargain. Last thing anyone needs nowadays is an update costing $49.99 to have fun. A lot of people have pointed this out, and so will I -- guns make smiley faces. All in all, this game rates as 'epic' on the 'Epic Scale' for it's mods, gameplay and pure attention to detail.… Expand

    The game is terrific. It's heart pumping and a lot of fun. There are a ton of guns and classes to choose from. Definitely worth adding to your gaming collection!

    This game is easily a 10. The shooting mechanics feel real. When you start out at lvl 0 you'll notice there's quite a bit of recoil in some guns, and your shotgun doesn't penetrate that well. As you level up each perk you'll notice the guns are more steady for you, as if you are actually becoming more proficient as you go. 7 classes to choose from: Medic, Support This game is easily a 10. The shooting mechanics feel real. When you start out at lvl 0 you'll notice there's quite a bit of recoil in some guns, and your shotgun doesn't penetrate that well. As you level up each perk you'll notice the guns are more steady for you, as if you are actually becoming more proficient as you go. 7 classes to choose from: Medic, Support Specialist, Sharpshooter, Commando, Berzerker, Firebug and Demolitions. Each Class has there own set of multiple weapons to choose from. You have a weight limit, and your movement speed is dependent on how much weight you are carrying. Also, there's ZED time. Basically "bullet time" it's activated when you or someone else in the map does something "impressive" like a major crit or killing multiple specimens with one shot etc. Everyone on the map goes into ZED time and your reaction time is improved for a very short time, in which you have the opportunity to line up perhaps a couple head shots. There are a couple classes that even have the ability to extend the ZED time once it's activiated, depending on whether or not the circumstances are right. I played L4D when it first came out...for quite a whiiiiiile...I got my Zoey up to lvl...er...honestly, L4D is great. It's just like most other shooters tho. One thing i love about Killing Floor is that there are no crosshairs. If you choose not to use the iron sights then you'll really be firing from the hip, and you'll have to learn where you're aiming, kuz sometimes you don't have the luxury of using the iron sights. But the learning curve is nothin. If you've played games like Crysis and Far Cry 2 on the hardest difficulty you'll fit right in. Be prepared to really work together tho, the Devs did a great job of balancing everything. You'll be able to tell when you stop playing on normal and hard modes and get yourself lvled up to 4 or higher and start playing on the suicidal mode...talk about adrenaline!… Expand

    this game totaly beets l4d 100% and for recently made full game? just think what the owners could do in the future while in l4d its just mindless shooting even if its better graphics? its the game inside that counts you can get level ups in kf for something to aim for and theres a totaly new update every month to sweeten the deal.

    The only Co-op Survival Genre that I have seen that is worth playing. It's fantastic fast pace run and gun, includes leveling up system which is neat, and 4 difficult that will keep you playing for days. To top off all that, there is a map editor for custom maps.

There are more guns than Left 4 Dead and I found it a more enjoyable experience than when i played Left 4 Dead. There are also more enemy types than in L4D.     great game, just amazing... fills your bloodlust within seconds. great for people that love exploding things into mush... especially the ZED time to make things more dramatic, makes you want to come back to the under rated genre

    As some have stated, this is a love it or hate it game. The idea of comparing killing floor with L4D is absurd, the only similarity in game play is that there is a truck-load of zombies to kill. Myself? I'd recommend killing floor to everyone and anyone.

    I believe this game is a cross between Doom 3 and Left 4 Dead. It has aspects of both, is fun, and is remarkably entertaining. I believe it poses a good challenge, and is very fun online.

    I have to say an AWESOME game, it is easy as well as hard you can solo it but it would take time and the first round is easy where as the rest are hard, one of the best games i have played. If i had to chose out of KF and L4D; KF is a mile ahead, it is true it is hard to compare them but the fact is what one scares u more what one do you spend your time on and what one do u enjoy to play.

    I played this game since it came out as a mod for UT2k4 and I have gotta say it vastly improved from the mod version, it really feels like a full blown game now.     About 20x better than Left 4 Dead! This game is the best co-op experience i ever had. I could play this game for hours and never get tired of it. Their is a single-player by the way and its crazy fun! It also has some very good features. Like the slow motion, trading, and giving money away! I LOVE THIS GAME!

The only things I've found bad about killing floor is its stupid phrases the characters, and trader says. The trade says the most retared things I've ever heard ,literally she sounds like she has down syndrome when she talks. The game could have been better. Needed more content when it first came out. The same 5 lvls gets old after awhile and characters are very limited and could have had more work done on them. They have released the outbreak character pack which gives you four new characters to play as for $2. Yeah i know its BS that they are making people pay for new for content let alone characters. Its a mod the DLC should come free. But they have recently announced the FREE DLC heavy metal. It will include a whole new map, new weapons such as the katana and the ak-47! They're also saying there's a lot more free DLC to come. Differently from most survival games there are perks in the game such as beserk, sharp shooter, medic, support specialist, and commando. All have equally beneficial advantage to them. You can also get ZEDtime which you get from killing a good amount of infected. Zedtime slows down time, very useful when you have a clot on you and surrounded by infected. Killing floor has a decent amount of weapons ranging from melee, to dual wielding and the usual shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifle. This game definitely has a lot more weapons then L4D which was one of the biggest let downs. After playing killing floor I've learned this game isnt for anyone. If your one of the people who is impatient and goes off on your own cause you think your a bad ass this isn't your game. This game is team based meaning having to work together, without team work you'll end up like poster 1. So if your looking for a game that's fast past, challenging,co op, and different from most survival horror games then killing floor is the game for you. I really suggest buying this game its only $20 and release DLC often. So if you love gory zombie games this is a must buy then and even if you don't its definitely worth trying out.… Expand

The weapon selection and iron cross effects gives the game a whole different perspective to zombie shooters, gotta love it. Alas, the maps; there are so many of them being made from the community it's impossible to be able to play them all. There's so many other things about this game which makes me think why this doesnt have an 80+ metascore review, bunch a wanker reviewers always expecting way too much especially from an indie game that was retailed from a mod.     the game is enjoyable, patching and support is dedicated ( 2 new weapons and a map just came out for free). new play modes are also on the way from TWI, all in all any other company would have made you pay 49.99$ for the original game, then made every addition on to that DLC and an extra 4.99 (*cough* FC2! *cough*).

    I've played this game more than any other game I've ever bought. I've been playing it for 2 months and I'm still eager to get home tonight to keep playing. I acknowledge some of the criticisms but at the end of the day, it's so fun, engaging, team-building, challenging and rewarding that some of the criticized details just don't matter. I simply love it.

    I really enjoy playing killing floor. For $20 it's a great buy. Also, it has a very active community with great maps coming out all the time.
    Another selling point is that it runs very wel on older computers and looks extremely good. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good fragging game!

    This game is f***ing brilliant. I have no idea how it could be given a 70 on metagame score. Whereas Left 4 Dead magically gets a 89 for its horribly repetitive gameplay, lack of melee weapons, and "pretty" graphics. Finding a good group may be hard, but try finding any on L4D. Added bonus of great price $20, and FREE GAMEPLAY CHANGING DLCs (stick that in ur pipe and smoke it L4D2). 10/10

    If you like online co-op, then this game is one to buy. If you like story mode and can't enjoy the co-op until there is hopefully a campaign kind of mode, then don't buy it. It has alot of new stuff (characters, maps, guns) and alot of gameplay time. I play whenever I get a chance or get bored, and there are enough user made maps to enjoy when core maps get boring.

    This games is very "charming". It brings me back to a good old fashion FPS (but multiplayer) just going around killing nasty vision of hell with heavy metal blasting for the mood music (ie Doom). I miss this kind of thing and they just made it better giving it a character development system and free content updates. 10 bucks VERY well spent!     This is a great third party game. It was created from the ground up and since its creation the support has been consistent and shows no signs of relenting, as a gamer i feel that this is invaluable. The game is action packed and relentless so its either go all out or go home which makes for a very enthralling gaming experience.

    Killing floor is what you would expect, loads of slow zombies trying to eat your brains while you defend your self with a chainsaw and a few grenades. You can play it all night long and it is so cheap so you could also buy your friend a copy. If your on the edge of buying it and reading though reviews, just get it, you won't regret it!

    Amazing game...Nothing else to say except try it and don't talk down on it if you haven't even played the game because this game doesn't get tiring fast, if you enjoy good gaming then you will be addicted to this game right off the bat.

    This game is an over looked gem. The weapon physics are much better than other games in the genre. The atmosphere created by Tripwire suits the game perfectly. This game is a bargain as far as value goes for the price.

    fun fun fun wonderfull coop game extremely fun, huge ammount of map (6 default, over 100 custom) perk system for power up player sense of fear when in claustrofobic zone and sense of death in open space with speciment coming from everywhere XD gore, bloord, explosion :D every time is like a carnival XD try it i think is the funniest game of last 5 year XD i love it

    I got this game when it first came out and i found myself glued to the seat, but about a week later i started to get bored. a month or so later, i found out that the dev team was keeping good to their updates and improving gameplay and adding more of everything like guns and zombie type experiments. This game is seriously better then most games that i pay full price for.     i recently bought left 4 dead 2 and i found myself playing this much more than l4d2 it is a much better than l4d2 and is such a fun scary game. and its so cheap how do valve get away with theft when games like killing floor are $20 its simply an amazing game

    This is great for a casual game. If you want OMG SERIOS STORY and brown and light bloom and all that nonsense, go somewhere else. But if you just want something to pop on to after work to kill some zombies, this is the best you'll get for the price.

    got this game when it was released, still playing it now, so many custom maps, mission maps too, custom game modes, custom weapons. A game I constantly come back to, if you like cod nazi zombies then you should like this game.

Single player is extremely hard so going online is practically your only option.     An excellent FPS. One of the few Zombie shooters that actually is fun to play. The community is very helpful. Best practice, if you're new, make sure to start off on the beginner maps. You need time to level and learn the game before you can start playing on normal. Also, solo play is no fun at all. When you have a team of people who are masters of their perk; it becomes non-stop intensity. Character design, classes, leveling system, enemy design and map design are fantastic. It may seem repetitive to some, but with the unlimited amount of strategies that can be thought out; the fun never ends! Professional Critics are stating it to be a Left 4 Dead rip-off; they are wrong. It's not a matter of opinion here, because the original Killing Floor mod came out before Left 4 Dead. I was hesitant at first to pick up the game because of he reviews. Then I was forced (gifted) it by a friend, and so I tried it out and thought it was decent. But I haven't had this much fun since CS:S and Halo 2. I'm looking forward to upgrades, some of the negative reviews here do have a point. It could use a few more gametypes.… Expand

The driving force behind KF is obviously the team work and takes it a lot further than eg. in a game like l4d. This coupled with some RPG elements, bullet time and a nice humor aspect, really makes it stand out a bit.     An incredibly fun game, almost at the standards of even Left 4 Dead. Perks make the game less repetitive, and there are many well made maps, with more coming from the players. It's priced at only $20 and it is often on sale. I picked mine up for $5 and couldn't be happier. I would absolutely recommend this game to a fan of Left 4 Dead, or any FPS in general.

    Damn, this game is really fun to play. Playing with friends is even better still!
    Good soundtrack, good graphics and optimization, simple yet great controls. The british accents are definitely a plus, and makes the game even more fun. KF is worth your time and money.

    Highly underrated game. Most people compare it to left 4 dead. It does play like left 4 dead however i find this game to be more fun because of the opportunities. In some parts you might need to book it down a street to escape death, or you might have to barricade yourself in a room with your friends. The numerous difficulties allow for a good ratio of skill.     I'v played 450 hours with it, I think it speaks for itself... Nice game. I'm eager to hear about the sequel of Killing Floor, and hope it will have as many free updates as event as this one.

But Steam usually has this game on sale occasionally. Great perks and weapons to help yourself stay alive for 10 waves until the end boss (Patriarch) at the 11th wave. The only problem is that you might find yourself on suicide or HoEA very amusing and fast paced game. I've bought this game 2 years ago and still play it regularly!     A very underrated yet enjoyable game. Some old mechanics and some new ones make for a brilliant experience.Do not listen to the negativity surrounding the title or the comparisons with Left 4 Dead.

    Killing Floor is a zombie game that lacks brain and own ideas. In the main part it's simply a Left 4 Dead clone with boring maps and graphics. But Killing Floor's emphasis on tactical gameplay, the solid coop mode and the cheap prize make the game worth a look.

    Tripwire Interactives Killing Floor is what you would expect of a polished mod, but doesn't exceed expectations as a retail game. It's good, but unfortunately far from perfect. A nice addition to the survival-horror genre though, and it has an attractively cheap price tag.

    While the single-player experience is pretty much non-existent and there are still a large number of bugs that have to be contended with, there's enough of a foundation here for players to enjoy. Hop online and kill monsters for Queen and Country.
